ReplyDeleteChina tried to hide this from the beginning till they couldn’t anymore. Yesterday, they also reported an outbreak of the Bird flu. My worry is about Nigeria. Have there been ongoing screening for those returning from China after their Year of the rat celebrations???
ReplyDeleteIt is also swine flu season. The Philippines have already reported the African swine flu, Germany and Spain are already making preparation on how to contain the flu. Germany is already building barrier fence between the border they share with Poland... This is to those that like eating pork meat

China is so secretive... They are still playing with numbers and releasing all the information to the outside world.

They are saying people shouldn't pannick, but, they have locked down two cities with more than fifty million people and build a hospital with one thousand bed in nine days, the other hospital with one thousand five hundred beds is still ongoing and will be open to receive patients in few days.
Whereas, the virus keeps spreading outside China in other countries.. three new cases have been recorded today in northern California... Many Chinese moved out of Wuhan city immediately they heard that their government was going to lockdown the city. Now, the disease is spreading fast and will soon become a pandemic.
It is quite scaring reading about this novel Corona virus.

Exactly, I feel the number of death is many times what they're giving out. Some people are arguing that hospital built in 8 days is more like a prison to hold those infected until they die rather than to treat them.

ReplyDeleteThe virus is generic to Asian origin. Although, the debate is that it will cause racial profiling... As the Asian male has a higher cell ration of expressive ACE2 than white and African -American donors (2.50% vs 0.47% of all cells . Thus, the arguement that races should not mixed in the medical observations.

I flew from Denver to Frankfurt on Friday. I could count how many people wearing masks in both airports. Travellers carried on like everything is ok. I had to remove my mask. From Frankfurt to Abuja, the flight was full and there were only about 10 people wearing masks. At Abuja Airport, there was no screening. I think the world outside of China don't really care about the media frenzy on coronavirus.
