Ex President Jonathan Responds To Farida Waziri's Claim On Reasons He Sacked Her As EFCC Boss...

These are some strong allegations meeeeeeeeeeeeeen!!!

Former Nigeria President, Goodluck Jonathan has said that Mrs Farida Waziri was sacked as chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), “in the national interest”.

Waziri in her new book ‘Farida Waziri: One Step Ahead’, claimed that Jonathan removed her because she wanted to probe some oil racketeers.

The former EFCC boss also alleged that she refused to contribute money to Jonathan’s re-election in 2011.

Jonathan, in a statement by his Media Adviser, Ikechukwu Eze, however insisted her removal was a patriotic act.

“It must be pointed out that former President Jonathan had no personal issues with Mrs Waziri.

“The former President had to eventually let her go in the national interest. Her removal therefore has a lot to do with reasons relating to Nigeria’s interest and global standing which details Dr Goodluck Jonathan is obliged to keep as state secret in our common national interest.

“It is very important to note that when dealing with the interest of the nation and the performance of the functions of a public office, a determined leader cannot prioritise the interest of an individual,” the statement read.

Waziri, appointed by the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua, was removed from office in November 2011.

She served for three and a half years.

  2. My only anger is that he did not sack Attahiru jega alongside. We would have been living happily by now.

    1. Attahiru Jega is a hero. Even GEJ knows this.

    2. What he means is that Jega gave us free and relatively fair elections but a Maurice Iwu would have returned Jonathan to office and spared us Buhari.

  4. I believe her allegations. Jonathan gave no details on what and why he was protecting national interest. he should defend with facts. Oil racketeering in Jonathan's regime was an 'untouchable' because even Patience was involved.

    2. Anon 11,29, how many facts has Bihari defended with? I honestly blame Jonathan for his sincerity and humility with a people who are so used to dictatorship.
Did he have to stoop so low as to honour her with a response?

By the way, was there and a half years (31/2) not enough for her? Was it an elected position?...

  5. Oh suck it up, EX Presido took the best humane decision by sacking you.
Stopped halfway in your strides and you start lamenting.

You arrived cloaked and hooded in revenge and outlandish wiping of a particular region while pretending to be professional, why wasn't your list a blanket across the nation rather it was selective.

Your brothers own 70% of the oil wells leaving them wretched and poverty-stricken yet you are not satisfied.

Pray they wake up to reality soon and possess their possessions.

  6. Mama Mia seems you did not understand me.
Oil wells are different holes where you can dig up hydrocarbon and natural gas, now a group of them in one location is called an OIL BLOCK.

Her brothers own the BLOCKS, if from one oil magnate, there are 4 wells, only one is given to a Niger Delta owned company to service, the hausas own the other 3, then she wakes up and decides that there are sharp practices in the upstream sector, she wanna curb it, why is the list not across board, all of them bycott OML 129 laws, you decide to use a sledge hamner? use it on all.

This is one out of her many 'slips'.
    Bitterness kills
