Police Arrest 4 Suspects For Allegedly Beheading Woman For Ritual Purposes

The Akwa Ibom police command have arrested four suspects who beheaded one Eka Sammy on her farm in the Abak Council area of the state.

The woman who was fondly called Mma Iko Mbakara was ambushed by a young man,Lucky Samuel from Delta state while she harvested cassava on her farm.


According to eye witness report, the youths of the community caught the young man when he dumped her severed head in front of her house and stripped naked. The irate youths dragged him to the farm where they found her remaining body.


Lucky who was later handed over to the police confessed he was paid the sum of N150, 000 to get a human head for a prophetess. Although the suspect did not mention the name of the prophetess, he had already received the cash payment to carry out the evil act.


Police Public Relations Officer, Fredrick Nnudam, Chief Superintendent of Police confirmed the incident and applauded the youth of the community for supporting the Police which led to the arrest of the suspect and his cohorts.


The PPRO who did not mention the number of suspects arrested hinted that the matter was being investigated at the Police Headquarters, Ikot Akpanabia, but sources informed Vanguard reporter that about four suspects were nabbed by the police.
