Air Force Bombs Borno Village And ‘Accidentally’ Kill 17 People..

Seventeen people have reportedly been killed when a fighter jet belonging to the Nigerian Air Force fired a bomb on Sakotoku village in Damboa local government area of Borno state.

Residents told TheCable.ng that those killed included women, and children who were said to be playing under mango trees.

The air force, military sources said, was informed that Boko Haram insurgents were gathering around the village on Thursday afternoon.

The supposed target, according to a source, was an area in Korongilum, a neighbouring village 12 kilometres away where suspected Boko Haram insurgents had gathered earlier.

“We don’t know if they didn’t communicate well with the land troops as the air force jet fired that bomb on the village,” one of the sources said.

“Seventeen people were killed, mostly women and their children playing under mango trees. Many were also injured and have been taken to the 25 army brigade in Damboa, and those with critical injuries were taken to Maiduguri.”

Some of the villagers whose houses were destroyed have found their way to Damboa.

    1. Eka, may the souls of the departed rest in peace. Amen.

Having said this, civilian casualty happens every where in the world. War sees more civilian casualties than the engaged, which is why I laugh at people who scream war war. You all have no clue. None at all!

This happened in George Bush and Obama's time. And it will continue to happen as long as we prefer to dialogue with weapons rather than our mouth.

    2. They totally missed their target. I'm sure not one boko haram member was killed in this attack.

I guess u can easily scream casualty of war because u are not directly affected

    3. Eka, kindly read my post again. Before you emphatically make statements that you may know nothing about. But this time, please read to understand and not because you are in a hurry to respond to me. Thank you.

  6. So, who will be punished for this? It shouldn’t be dismissed as just collateral damages!

  7. I don't even understand how people's lives can be taken like this.
That is how they bombed IDP camp "mistakenly".
    This deaths are very painful.
    Rip to the dead.

  8. Collateral damage...

Sometimes, I don't want to believe stories from unknown sources like this cos it might be concocted to besmirch our gallant military. Other times, such casualties can become unavoidable when prime targets use innocent people as shield.

I suspect the bombing of an IDP camp sometimes ago as deliberate because some BH men could be taken refuge within the camp.
