FG Postpones WAEC And NECO Indefinitely Over COVID 19 Pandemic

The Nigerian government has postponed the Senior School Certificate Examination organised by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the National Examinations Council (NECO) for the year amid coronavirus outbreak.

Emeka Nwajubu, Minister of state for education announced this during a press briefing monitored by Dailypost on Channels Tv.

“WAEC and NECO for the year have been postponed indefinitely.

The students can learn online, we have made a lot of provision for that. The director of FCT has also opened a portal for the process
We are working with the ministry of information to escalate education content to provide for everyone at home.
Our biggest challenge is to reach children who do not have devices but we are working with radio corporations to instil some of that for primary and secondary students .”

  1. How will the students learn online?
What kind of provisions have they made so students can learn online?

Were students given free access to online studies like, free internet and access to books?

I would like to hear from parents with kids who are preparing to write WAEC and NECO.

    1. No free access. They arranged TV and radio stations broadcast of teaching students. They forgot that light is not stable in the country.

I told my son that they have advantage to study more. We do home lessons.

    2. My daughter is in Nursery 1. Her school Administrator added us to the whatsapp group designated for her class and her teacher coordinates the learning exercises there.

Parents are urged to assist their kids in doing these exercises, we snap and send to her for evaluation. We also do voice notes too. It has really helped alot as my daughter's brain is being stimulated.

God has been providing the data, I got SDK's data this past week as well and it helped alot.

We'll just help the government to help us too, it's obvious they are clueless and cant do it all alone.
