Nigerian Man Recounts True Story Behind Nigerians Being Harrassed In China....

This currently viral on Whatsapp and is allegedly the true account of what happened between Nigerians and the China Officials trying to run them out of town......

*My brother, there's nothing much that happened. I don't need to ask you what you heard because about 20 people have asked me about this. All my customers, my relatives, my friends have all asked me this question, so I know you want to ask me about chasing black people out of their homes and out of the hotels.*

*You know how our people behave. Once they hear stories, they add their own, mix it with yam, and add ugba to make it more beautiful. I just got home from work and just got out of the shower. So about the video you watched, the story you heard happened in Guangzhou.*

*Before the borders were closed and flights were stopped from coming in, some of our people had come to buy goods. The Chinese asked them self-isolate. That took them to a hotel because they told all the hotels not to allow foreigners. The cops are the ones who will pick you up, check you out and put you up in a hotel. They will check you every morning, test your temperature to see if you have any symptoms. After 14 days they release you so you can do your business.*

*But 3 to 4 days before that 14 days was over, they discovered that three of our people had the symptoms. Eventually, they found out that 2 (of the 3) people had malaria or typhoid or something, but one person had coronavirus. They wanted to treat the one that had it, but he refused and said they wanted to inject him with the virus and kill him. They told him they didn't want to do that but just wanted to treat him like they also treated their people, but he refused. Instead, he fought those medical workers, and I don't know if they said he hit one of them in the eye or somewhere. But you know white people's body, the person got a bruise or a black eye, and the locals got angry about that when they heard the story. Because of that, even the chairman of the Nigerian community in China got involved and begged the man to calm down and get treated. The Chinese said that after treating him, he would be deported and they agreed.*

*Because of this, they started monitoring the blacks to check for the symptoms. They went to places that black people ate. They found a Nigerian guy called Emma, who was married to a Chinese woman. The woman cooks food and people had been eating there for weeks. They found out that the woman went to her village and came back with the virus. The woman didn't self isolate for 14 days but started cooking for people. They also found out that it was mostly black people who patronised the woman. So they shut down everywhere that had predominantly black people in Guangzhou.*

*All these things happened in Guangzhou, but people made it sound like it was happening in the whole of China. Anyway, they shut down everywhere the blacks eat in Guangzhou. They rationalised that if it was black people who patronised the woman, and she had been serving them for days, some black people would have contracted the virus from the woman. Because of that, they asked those people who had been in isolation to remain indoors until they sort out the issue with this woman and the people she came in contact with.*

*They got health workers to move from house to house to check people and run some tests. They do the tests, ask you to wait for 24 hours, and after 24 hours if you test negative, they give you a card to be able to go out. Now that card is what you would use to go to the markets and different places. So these people were asked to stay indoors until the tests had been done for everybody so that they could figure out those who had it and those who didn't have it, but they refused. They said they had been isolated for 14 days, so why should they be asked to stay inside. They all defied the orders and went out. Now the law that was given to all the hotels was not to allow any foreigners in except for one hotel. That one Hotel was also instructed not to let anybody out or in. But you know how our people behave, they all gathered, making noise and all went out together.

When they wanted to go into the markets, they were asked to show their cards because the locals had been told to always ask for cards to know those who had been tested. So when they didn't show their cards, they were not allowed into the markets, and when they got back to the hotel, the management refused to let them in because that was the instruction by the police. Then they started the story that Igbo people were being chased out of their apartments and hotels and asked to go home. That's the story now.*

Nothing else happened but what I have just told you. People see the video and start screaming "look how they are throwing Igbo people and black people out" but you were asked to stay indoors so they can sort things out. They are trying to solve this problem so the virus can be under control before they let people in.

For those of us here, we were isolated, tested and issued our cards before we were able to move around. But people coming in want to move around without testing, and it's not good for the people who are already in there. That's what they were trying to sort out, but our people didn't understand this, and it caused problems after they defied the instructions, saying they were not allowed to go inside.

Then for those who left their homes, they would go to those homes check to see if they were home and if they weren't they locked up the house because everyone was asked to stay at home so they can check you and test. So when they get there and you not at home, where did you go to? Everyone was asked to stay at home, and when you defy, and they lock your home, then you come out and say you were thrown out of your home.

When they asked us to stay indoors, I stayed in for a month and two weeks. I didn't step out. Today no one has evicted me from my house, and no one has asked me not to come in. Even when I resumed my trading business, I did that for one month, and they called me again, gave me test kits that I had to use every day to check myself for 14 days. I did that and showed them the results.

Follow the rules so things will be easy for you, but you think they're trying to cheat you. Do you think it's Buhari leading this country? So anybody telling you anything, ignore them. Lots of (fake) news out there*

  3. If this is the true version of what happened, then Nigerians have a long way to go in obeying rules and laws of the land, we can do better.

This disobedience to the law of the land is disgracing us everywhere we go and putting us in trouble.

See even Nigeria of today, simple "social distancing", they are gathered on the streets exercising. Which part of social distancing or stay home stay safe don't they understand?

Lawlessness has eaten deep into our system and sometimes when we blame our leaders, we need to blame ourselves too. Aside the pains measured to Nigerians from our leaders, not obeying simple laws make us suffer too.

We can do better by being the Nigerians we want Nigeria to be today. Change starts with you and me.

    2. @11:44 Olu sweets, I agree with your submissions. 💯👌👍

However, until the people entrusted with leadership (laws of our land) start being responsible and accountable, the citizens would continue to cast off restraint.
Leadership need to strengthen institutions which enforce the law on leaders who break the law.

In a home where parents behave 'anyhow', the children behave 'anyhow' too.

    2. We have to be careful about fake news. If Buhari had listened to the likes of FFK Andy jumped into this it would have been a diplomatic mess. I bet you he was told the real story. Lesson to this is not everything you read you want government to go and fight.Nigerians everywhere break laws and when caught start that whole " do you know who I am".

    3. Fellow Nigerians. If we cannot follow laws in other countries then we should stay in Nigeria as "big fish". We spoil it for others when we carry our arrogant selves outside of the country.

    4. I am so ashamed of my country. This is so unnecessary and not funny. Always first to blame Buhari for issues we cause with our own hands. We are just morally bankrupt, quick to lie and transfer made up blame. Why are you even in China if you cannot obey the law of the land?

Same thing we are doing to some westerners. I cautioned Stella when she posted that news but she didn't post my comment. Stella verify news before posting or enrol in a media school. Oh sorry, this is a blog. It means gossip in Nigeria.

Its always good to say the truth no matter what. I thank the person who wrote this for saying the truth, when all this is over the Chinese attitude will really change towards them because the Chinese are very vengeful and must always seek revenge especially when their image is tarnished in their eyes and the eyes of the world. They dont like that at all.

The other day it was Sydney putting NCDC on blast by faking symptoms. People who are stressed out already you're screaming nigeria is a joke they didn't take your calls blah blah they finally wasted test kit on you it was negative, you're now apologizing.

We even read about the above man that bit a nurse some days ago?

Please if our journalist these days don’t investigate before publishing, we should take our time to be rightly informed. Google is your friend.

Just like some days ago, the fake news of lockdown extension that was neither aired on any Radio or TV stations but was widely circulated without investigation.

  17. Somehow I never believed the initial story.

The average Nigerian feels like being brash is all there is to life. Lawless and self engrossed people.

More than ever before, I'm encouraged to process my relocation out of this country, once this tide ebbs. I want to be far, very far from my fellow Nigerians.

I don't want to live my life anymore, around people who don't read, who have no sense of safety or responsibility, and who can't obey authority. What's more, inspite of their numerous failings, they believe they are the be-all of the world.

    It's very irritating to see.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Okay. We have heard you now.

We know Nigerians think everywhere is as lawless as back home with their clueless leaders.

They will never obey laws of the land. They think they are in the lawless Nigerian society.

If what the narrator said is the whole truth, then too bad as we crucified the Chinese.

    Why are we like this????

Honestly, if u look at this story well and relate it to what's going on, it will be too easy to tell it isn't true.

  30. with all due respect, this account of what happened is contrary to the released CCTV video. It was a Chinese man that beat the nurse while the black guy and other people at the hospital stood and watched...
This same raid is happening in Shenzhen, Xian, Shenyang etc.......
I have thr CCTV footage and I can send it.
    Thank you.

    1. Thank you for your narrative and taking the time out of your schedule to obtain the CCTV footage, you don't need to send it, it is already online for all to see. Don't try to confuse people with two different incidents. The one you're talking about is a seperate incident from what the poster of this story is talking about. Very seperate and different scenario you hear.

    2. God bless you. And the amb suing them for racism is also an illiterate that didn't see or hear the true story of what happened. The man on ground that collected their passports back from the Chinese is also a mumu.

I wont be surprised if is same Nigerians that are frustrating and being rats against themselves over there.

    3. Yes the ambassador suing them is an iliterate that didn't see or hear the true story, no be Nigerian ambassador again, what work do they do or know.
He didn't see the true story because he didn't witness it and he hasn't heard the true story because it is only just coming out now. We will see where the alleged lawsuit will lead and where this matter will conclude.
One thing I know for sure is that all those people causing trouble will all be deported from China and there is absolutely nothing the Nigerian ambassador or the Nigerian government can do and you can take that to the bank.

  31. And how can you force people into quarantine after issuing them with health certificate ?..
there has always been raids on blacks in Guangzhou. it didn't start today and their target is the Males... Every single day, there is always raids on blacks males, recently they've started closing down warehouses owned by black people, those whose wives refused for them to be taken are locked inside the house from outside, landlords are ejecting blacks without notice, some had to sleep in open places etc.. They've refused to sell things ,even food to any black person, taxi have refused to carry black people even with the Anti virus code showing green....
Whoever posted such, dosen't have first hand information but rather a hearsay and being bias. 🙄

I see why it will be difficult to blacks to unite and work for a common cause..... We just keep bewitching ourselves within our community....
