BBNaija Star Uriel Tells Canadian Rapper She Is From London....

Big Brother Naija Reality star Uriel was in an Instagram live video with Canadian rapper Daystar Peterson aka Tory Lanez and she told him she is from London but based in Lagos and later sang a song in her native language, Igbo.

Tory: So where are you from?

Uriel : I am from London but I live in Nigeria

Tory: (Exclaims) London!!!...

Uriel : But I live in Nige....(slight pause) I live in Lagos,

Tory: What did you say baby?

Uriel : I live in Lagos

Tory : Oh! In Africa, wow!!

Uriel : Yeah I do..

Tory: (continues to exclaim) wow!!!

Uriel : So I'm gonna sing a little bit in my language

Tory : Aiit, okay cool.

Uriel : Is that cool?

Tory : Yeah cool, you ready? Start.

Uriel : Okay cool.

Tory : Go ahead.

Uriel : (sings an Igbo song about praising God at all times)

Some people think she denied her Nigerian root but she if she was born in London then she is from London with Nigerian roots....Simple.

    2. She was born in the UK but not British. UK no dey give citizenship like USA if your parents are not British or before when you could apply through you grandparents "ancestral Visa" .
Which one is "I'm from London, who is from London" What part of London? Only if you want to start claiming what hospital you where born in London in the UK.
It's like saying I'm from Lagos to someone who isn't Nigerian, I'm Nigerian and was born in Lagos. Shikena 😏😏.
If she was British, she will know the difference

    4. @anon 15.09 please get your facts right... she is both british and Nigerian and she can claim whichever one she wants depending on the situation. If you dont know something for a fact, dont rush to comment your ignorance.

    5. You can say you are from London....just like Americans say im from Newyork,LA. They dont claim states or local govt like us....they usually just say where they are born/bred or brought up and Uriel was brought up in London.
I dont know d big deal here. Is she to say shes from lagos when shes not or say im from Alu LGA in Imo state.
How the guy one relate ???

    7. Anon 15:09 got the 2nd paragraph spot on. someone cant come New York, Paris, London. You must be citizen of a country, and not the city.
@Anon 15:42, thanks for corroborating what a few have been saying: that she has dual citizenship. As for your last line, take it easy. One would think Anon 15:09 owes you money.

I dont know about America and the English they speak over there but in Britain you wouldn't say to an outsider that ure from London without saying ure British or English. Where in London are you from? East London, South-East, North, West or where, are you from Essex, up North or where in the UK etc 😏
U people should continue giving yourselves headache.

Was she raised in London? Yes.
      Can she say that? Yes.
Does she live in Lagos? Yes.
Did she tell a lie? No.

    18. If two persons from the same country are conversing, it makes sense to say the City where you come from.
But if they are from different countries, wouldnt it be accurate to mention your country first, and then your city.

  14. Ah ah she's right now.
That's the one she chose, some folks choose their Nigerian nationality over their birthplace which is British.Their choice.

See eh, one secret in correct HR secret for cool firms, when filling their template, click British, enter your passport number(they will surely verify that)and add for languages Igbo,Hausa,Yoruba or whichever, you explain those during oral interview and parentage.

You get employed fast and is referenced as an expatriate(package and miscellaneous).

    Stella Kork no mind them.

    1. XP but let's not even front.. Uriel's choice of nationality depends on who is asking..
When she auditioned for BBN, she was Nigerian.
Now on Quarantine Radio with Tory Lanez, she's from London.

We know how shit works. 😊😊

    3. Perxian then she wasn't a British citizen, she just got her citizenship last year. So she's from London...

    4. Perxian, she got cut off by the new immigrations laws of 1984 having been born after that year,it was no big deal before,it took years to grab the red.

2.In this same country if you say Ajegunle-Lagos born and bred Musician Oritsefemi many will wrinkle their nose but when you say Ituku- Enugu born and bred musician Phyno people go wow wow, when in actual fact Phyno cannot hold a candle to Oritsefemi's stagecraft and Ituku cannot even compete with Ajegunle, forget hyping.

Uriel says she has been through thick and thin, been put down in awkward places and ways least expected, then last year she gets her British citizenship you think she will not flaunt it?Oh common,it offers many fringes, perks in Platinum Card ranges in many discounted firms.
      Blacks respect tags,please.

I have relations who are born in Achimota -
Ghana, they work here as ghanaians with their Igbo names, travel the world without delays on nothing, they tell you hooha they are ghanaians from Achimota,go cry if you can,not their business.

Wielding a British passport is a whole lot lot.

Anony...you can,I have 2 siblings who are Spanish, they get renewals for their Nigerian passports but do not use them.
If I see better space inside for instance Main One Cable, I file on their template as British, does't like foreign currrency.

      Sorry for the epistle.

    5. Anonymous 15:09, Please get your facts right before you comment. United Kingdom use to give citizenship. I was born in London in the year 1964. I have British and Nigerian nationality. Previously in the United Kingdom, if a child was born there, regardless of the parent's status, the child is classed as British by birth, the law was changed some years ago. So your comment about United Kingdom not been America is wrong to an extent. I got my british nationality by birth.

Personally I have italian citizenship and despite the fact that I came to Italy when I was only 5 years old I still consider myself Ghanaian and when people ask me where I'm from I tell them I'm ghanaian without even telling them that I have italian citizenship. I take pride in my roots but to each is own🤷🏾‍♀️
