82-year-old Okere, it was gathered, fled after stabbing his 70-year-old wife.
Beatrice was a retiree of the Imo State Polytechnic in Umuagwo.
The alleged murder took place in Imerenwe, Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State.
Imo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed the incident.
The spokesman also revealed the next line of action.
“It is true that the former Director-General of the state-owned broadcasting corporation TC Okere allegedly stabbed the wife to death this morning and the command will soon commence an investigation into the matter”, he said.

They have stayed longer does not mean they were happy. Most of them were deeply unhappy and threw themselves into raising children. They stayed because of the times.

Haba nah, he didn't flee, he is in police custody and he has dementia, they have been treating him since and they were supposed to go abroad to continie treatment but they lost their son whose burial is in 2 weeks.

DeleteReading through this story and my heart PLUMMETS...He is my Uncle...a very peaceful, loving and selfless individual...Thinking of the days when we travel to the village during the festive season...how he embraces and welcomes everyone into his home. It's sad that events unfolded as such and it's still a bitter pill to swallow. Ndaa TC was a highly respectable man; only God Almighty knows best.
