Governor Sanwo Olu Versus Governor Wike's Lockdown Stylee...

Governor Sanwo Olu locked down Lagos but we all know that people still moved around and the arrests were not effectively carried out and saw videos of large crowds going viral at several times before the lockdown was eased a little....
Sanwo has however said he might lockdown again because people are not respecting social distancing....

Governor Nyesome Wike has locked down River state and following it up bumper to bumper and he has been labelled wicked......did you just say wicked? In my opinion,Governor Wike is the cane that some Nigerians need to reset their brains to follow directives....

He has warned ahead of what he will do if you violate his lockdown rules and he means business!!!

Some people do not even take this coronavirus pandemic serious and disobey the rules to stay at home....

My opinion is definitely not yours so i am going to ask you what you think about both men and their lockdown styles...

I think Governor Sanwo Olu of Lagos is a 'Softie' while Governor Wike is really hard in a good way and Kano needs him as governor for one week...lol

  3. sanwo olu is applying wisdom, the last thing he would want is for the people to be against him, but wike is clueless, what's the reason of locking down just 2 LGAs while the others are still free, does it mean that the virua can't spread in those rural LGA. River state has always been a volatile and unsafe state, with the continuous lockdown, the people will start fighting back. There is no testing anywhere in Rivers....

    1. He locked down the entire state in the beginning but the lock down was not respected and people kept on moving up and down, the two recently locked down LGAs has corona virus cases and they greatly flouted his rules even after he begged them repeatedly and even suspended their local government chairman

    2. Please demolishing people's property is not in anyway being strict. Haven't we even asked ourselves why we always need to be treated like goats. Have you seen oyinbo's treating there citizens like goats and sheep that need herding? It is one question we citizens of Nigeria need to start asking ourselves. Why must everything be hard. Why must you struggle achieve any sort of nolmancy in a society..there must be bullying and intimidation before they can get sense. I fear for this country.

    3. @anon 11:42 thanks smart one, are you saying that there is no possibility that those infected in the 2 LGA didn't have contact with anyone who must have travel to any of the various LGAs. since the 2 lGA was locked down, have seen anyone or any area that has been tested? and no i dont feel bad for calling me dumb, you are entitled to ur opinion, at the end of the day my opinion will always be mine .

    4. Who will really fight wike back? When the main people that would have fought back are the task force he is using..😁

  5. in Rivers state, there is a task force leader called VOLKO this man is wike stooge, volko will take his boys and go to mile 3 and mile 2 market, they will use machet to butcher peoples plantain, throw tomatoes and garri on the ground and pour kerosene on it. The most heartbreaking was when he went to mile 2 market and poured the ice fish of the women into the gutter and used shovel to butcher it and mix the fishes with the gutter. The other day they went to sangana market in mile1 and packed peoples onions, cowhead, stockfish.

Black soot is ravaging Rivers state and the gov has done nothing about it, River state is a very wicked state.

    2. Why can't the people just obey a simple instruction? Stay at home for a few days to prevent this thing from spreading and you are all crying foul. Of this thing spreads now, how do you expect him to contain it?

If only Sanwo Olu was this strict with Lagosians, we will not be where we are today.

    3. Even if Sanwo- Olu sat on top of Lagos state Head it will still spread. Have you thought about the population of Lagos state 1st, the number of improted cases, those that live in face me i face you settings. Lagos state has tried in curtailing it. Also you are telling people to sit at home, will dey eat their chairs. If you have food there are people who struggle for their daily bread. They should obey lock down. The people in rivers state did Wike give them palliatives in the said sit at home order.

    4. Y, what are you saying? They eased lockdown and laid down rules but most people are not abiding by it. You see a lot of people moving around or even in clusters and none with masks. Some wear but just sling it over their ears leaving their nose and mouth bare. Some borrow from people just to cross road if there's police harrasing them, without care whether it is safe or not.

I even saw a nurse entering a public bus without a mask on. Lagos people really needs strong hand. Maybe, if Sanwo-olu will do a little of what Wike is doing, people will learn to abide by the rules, if not, the virus will keep spreading.

  7. Both of them are doing well. But my option on the demolition of hotels by Wike was too cruel, he would have penalize the defaulter in another way.

For Lagos state, i think the governor should strengthen the ease down measures, if anyone violate it they should be dealt with.

  8. Nyesom wike is the kind of a person Nigerians need.Sometimes I wish we could drop that democracy and use military especially in Lagos, people here are too stubborn and don't obey the rules.
Only say I'm against of wike demolishing the hotels. He would have used it for Isolation center.

I wonder what kind of brain people are using to think, someone demolishing hotels is ur Messiah in fighting Covid19? In developed World, is dr no protest against lockdown despite provision for palliative? Many of us r d problems of Nigeria bcos our brain to think for d country is faulty. U all condemn police men breaking someone's bar in Lagos. But now Sanwoolu is not doing enough, bunch of hypocrites.

  9. until you have an emergency that requires you to be at lasuth everyday knowing that your person wint be attended to when you arent there, you wont understand the importance of people being able to move around. Rivers is a tiny fraction of Lagos, both cannot he compared and both cannot be governed in the same way

  10. Wike is not human, Sanwo Olu is human, so for me I prefer Sanwo Olu to the former, all Sanwo need to do, is to attach a fine to people who refuses to wear face masks and other preventive measures, he will see the results, because Na only person wey never chop belle full no go comply.

What's the essence of lockdown when some people haven't seen light in a week and there gas is exhausted with no means of getting any? How are people supposed to stock up their fridge when there isn't light to preserve the foods. What relief packages is he giving to the less privileged ones, he should have put things in place first

  13. I read somewhere some people were complaining about their loved ones in the hospital that are almost dying from starvation and thirst because there's no way to get food to them, and the hospital canteen can't serve either because there's nowhere to buy food stuff.

I think he's doing a good job but closing down essentials like PMS, food stores and pharmacies is counter productive. Does he want people to just roll up and die because you're locking down the state? These things need to be done with wisdom.

  14. If they try Wike's style in Lagos, the aftermath cannot be handled o.

  15. Wike is serving second term while this is sanwolu first tenure. Sanwolu is treading treading cautiously I am sure he doesn't want to annoy his people. Wike is doing a good job but he is overdoing it. He said we should stock medicine when we are struggling to restock food stuff with our littleresources. why close pharmacy for God seek. So I should be anticipating to fall sick? How do I know the kind of medicine to buy,?

Gov Wike, should calm down. For me, destroying those properties was cruel. He could have locked up the place, billed the owners heavily but bringing the building down is just terrible. His methods are crazy in my opinion. Too crazy

  16. I sympathize with the people of port harcourt but i support wike and how he is tacking the lockdown, he is seriously working and not just sitting down and barking orders, we have seen clips of him walking up and down and making sure everyone follows the directives he has put in place.

Before the lockdown he announced all what were prohibited and the punishment for defiling them, citizens after defiling them and facing the punishments he promised are complaining😩, things are hard and times are bad i agree, but we must know that this corona stuff is a serious threat to everyone and lives are at stake, as the governor his first responsibility is the safety of the people of port harcourt okay, the number of positive cases between lagos and port harcourt will tell you that lagos also deserve this strong method without any sentiment at all.....THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS ALWAYS and if after corona is defeated and port harcourt records less deaths than it already has, history will remember wike for how he enforced and ensured it.

    3. Even the food he said we should go buy moro, with which money? He has refused to sign banks letters to allow their workers go fill ATM for withdrawals.
How will people now get money?

May whoever that is supporting Wike's action experience it forever in his or her household. May the growth in his or her household be like Wike's actions in Jesus Name Amen!!!

  17. I will not comment because I will be biased. Because for me, I have never liked Wike, he reminds me of the quote, “power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely” I simply see him as a tout hovering around playing Demi god, I don’t even think his intentions are genuine if not another means to prove his powers.... I’ll stop here.

  18. Stella, Wike'style of lockdown is undemocratic and no where in the world even wuhan the epicenter was this draconian law put in place. If you arent in Portharcourt you wont understand , I'm 39 weeks pregnant, I cant go to hospital for my antenatal because I have to reserve the fuel I have because of emergency, fuel stations are close, groceries stores are close, i cant fill my gas cooker, why will you shut down essential services I wish I could sue the government, I'm so angry

  19. If Nigerian Government was this strict prior to now.. we would have had lesser cases.. we can't say for sure if Wike is doing this for political reasons or for the fact that He knows the Fed Govt won't come to the aid of Rivers STATE if the case escalate..

If this is the price we Rivers People have to pay to contain this virus then it's ok..

Our plea is for Wike to give palliative At least to the ones in need of it.. Because truly hunger is real and it doesn't make any sense to be locked down in hunger..

My Rivers brothers and sisters please let's stay safe and adhere to the law. It's just for a short while.. let them not use any of us and set example biko

  20. The two men should not even be compared. Sanwoolu is a man with finesse and conscience.wike is angry cos he has not received federal government hand out. Trying to prove a point that he can do without them in Abuja. Always being wicked. A tyrant

  21. I think I prefer Gov. Wike's style though it might not be the most porpular. There is no leadership style that does not have a down side, however looking at the situation threatening River State (of course the world),the Governor is going all out to see that his state is crumbled by it. That guy is dealing with a people that are strong-willed and factional so he has to adopt an approach that will capture their attention and co-operation.Its also good to note that he has been vocal about his procedure and it's consequences on defaulters,so go figure.

Though am concerned about the issue of access to food and daily necessities.

Gov. Sanwo Olu's style is also working but probably not effective cause Lagos is a mixture of all sorts.

    #LOVE😍

  22. 😁😁😁😁 I prefer wike style anyway, if you are law abiding, you wont have a problem with him, if you behave as if your head is strong he will show you his own is stronger. If he had allowed that disregard of stay home order, the same people shouting will say it's because its PDP that's why he allowed it..the demolition should serve as a deterrent to others, the anon that said hotel president is open to customers, which customers? you lie big time...where you wan pass? Where?

Nigerians complain about everything! GEJ was too soft, now Wike is wicked! What do we really want?
See Delta state now, opening big market like igbudu market up and down (saying they have market days), as if the virus has some "off" days!
Truly, Nigerians deserve a Wike in my opinion.

I had to trek for miles from my work place to my poling centre in the absence of vehicles on the election day just to vote for Wike should just be considerate.
