Pastor Tunde Bakare Replies Pastors Criticising Nigerian Govt For Closing Down Churches

Pastor Tunde Bakare,Founder and Senior Pastor, Citadel Global Community Church, CGCC has attacked his Colleagues for attacking the government for not opening Churches.....

Bakare, on Sunday said it was wrong for church leaders to be criticising the governments at this time rather than helping to fight Coronavirus.

Though he did not mention the names of the church leaders,it was apparent those he was referring to...

“I will like to react to the lamentation of some people within the church over closure of churches, that while markets and hospitals are allowed to open Churches are not allow to operate.

“I am so glad not only churches are prevented from congregating, the mosques also are locked down. The government ordered the markets to open and to operate for a few days to prevent hunger because the palliatives by the government cannot go to every citizens in their homes right now.

“Let the church live and support the government rather than condemning them in this arduous task. We should thank God that there is no distance in the spirit, lockdown or no lockdown and that the church is not the building but the body of Christ,” he said.
“They must be prepared to offer some of their halls to government as isolation centres in support of the government. I recommend that our church halls be made available to government as isolation centres and those of us who could afford it, should be there to support the government. I am not suggesting what we are not prepared to do, we have already done that,”

WHY BAKARE REACTED

One popular preacher a few days ago lashed out at Church leaders who agreed with the government to shutdown churches to halt the spread of Coronavirus, saying they are not true Christians.
He said the church leaders should have told the government to give them time to pray and consult with their congregation before thinking of closing churches.

Another one berated the government for closing churches and allowed markets to open. “There should be opening of the churches around the world. Sir, there is something wrong for people to be allowed to be in the market for six hours and can’t be in Church for two hours.

“It is an upside down ways of looking at things, while quoting Ecclesiastic 4:13 which said “Better is a poor and wise child than an old foolish king who will no more be admonished.”

“Which one is more orderly, the market or the church? I can smell a rat, the Lord spoke to me about it yesterday. Behind all this, how do we stop the church from exploding?”

  8. Bakare is making sense. Pastore that are berating the opening of market will they feed the whole populace? In fact how many have they fed?
They should be glad that this is happening during the period of technology atleast their members can still come online and give offering. Moreover church is not a building, they know this that is why a lot of them before lockdown are already streaming online, quite baffling that they are complaining of not having a physical gathering.

  13. This pandemic is an eye opener to everyone,as soon as it's over if people refuse to come back to their senses, they'll never be sensible again!!!! Most churches are business ventures. I don't even want to say our the useless elders of our church have turned our G.O into a vegetable, for two years he hasn't stepped his feet into church premises simply because he was reforming the church. Prophet S.F KORODE i speak life into you and may you come out of this battle victorious. AYO NI O

  15. while i agree that Christians gathered together brings its own corporate anointing and manifestation of his power and gifts of the spirit God does not need 4 walls to be God. I was reading an American online christian magazine days ago and data showed an increasing number of people who gave their lives to Christ during the lockdown. radio and christian shows had more online presence than they ever had and alot of people are asking God related questions and wanting to know scriptures and understand stuff. so some good has come out of this lockdown too. God is not confined to space, time or location. all he needs is relationship and wherever or whenever you are are connected to him, he will use you to perform his counsel.

    1. You Christians like lying to yourselves. You don't like the truth, you prefer to hide the truth from the works, just to portray yourselves holy without blemish but inside of you is filled with dirts.

Pastors are coming out to say something bad, while some other ones are out to corect them but you think it's better they all United to say shit and lie to the world.
