Police Sends Strong Warning To Pastors Planning To Re-open Their Churches..

The police in Ogun State have sent strong warning to those planning to re-open their Churches today.....

A statement by the state Police Spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said appealed to such religious leaders to have a change of heart, saying “security agencies in the state will view the opening of worship centres with all seriousness.”

Oyeyemi said the police would not tolerate any act capable of undermining the determination of the state and federal government to fight Coronavirus to a standstill, stressing that “the ban on all forms of gathering be it social or religious is still in force.”

The statement reads:

“It has come to the notice of Ogun State Police Command that some religious leaders in the state are preparing to open their various religious centers for people to converge in total disobedience to both the state and federal government directives.

“The command hereby appeals to such religious leaders in both Islamic and Christian faith who may be having such intention to have a change of mind because the security agencies in the state will view such with all seriousness.

“The command will not tolerate any act capable of undermining the determination of the state and federal government to fight the COVID 19 pandemic to a standstill.

“The commissioner of police, therefore, wish to use this medium to remind all religious leaders that the ban on all forms of gathering; be it social or religious is still in force. He also admonished all and sundry to cooperate with the government in its efforts to make the state coronavirus-free.”

Bishop Oyedepo, in a viral video, on Friday, said he had declared churches open, saying anybody against the reopening of churches will die.

Oyedepo’s Living Faith Church is located
in Ota, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government area of Ogun State.

    1. Reason I said being only a Pastor is not a profession. Rather, they should also work in order to earn a living.

Imagine the situation non-working pastors found themselves in now.

    4. Mosques around Abuja, just because it's Ramada, you can hear the voice of one person chanting Arabic over the loud speaker but no gathering at all.

For Papa Oyedepo, I think he could redirect his anger to the virus that is bringing him bad business and not the authorities doing their bit to help the situation. Why wish them death?! Does he not care about our health and wellbeing? I am sure God knows about the virus ravaging man-kind and we know He's got the whole world in His hands. God is not starving from lack of money or praises.

    6. Abeg enough of all this nonsense about opening the church.

Our numbers keep growing rapidly but people still think this whole thing is a huge joke, till it hits close to home then some of you will get it.

Every Sunday, I receive messages on my whatsapp from the catholic priest. He is at home but still doing God's work. He records his preaching and sends to those on his contact list. The message today was strong and powerful.
A message of hope and reassurance, a reminder that God hasn't forgotten us and will come through from us.

Nigerian pastors need to stop moaning about this church thing and stop making Christian's a laughing stock. God can be worshipped anywhere.

  4. That warning was very, very necessary. I was wondering if Bishop Oyedepo's statement would not be checked, encouraging People to disobey the laws of land.

  5. You'd think theyre in a hurry to win souls for the lord, or preach the gospel, na lie.... its the offering theyre thinking of.

  6. I think the issue here is not about offering and tithes, because those will never seize for Christians and givers.

But the fact that a lot of other gathering have been allowed, and it seems like only the church is not allowed to gather.

So, let's face the issue and stop killing ourselves over tithes and offerings, that have existed before we were born and will continue after we depart this world.

    1. Which gathering except market and work(and even work not everyone has resumed),d rest do shift work and rotate. Most bank branches and telecomms are even closed... These two are essential for our existence. Or where will u get money to feed ur kids and take dem to hospital if need be.

    2. Has the Govt re open schools? Markets don't open everyday. There is a huge mosque in my area and no worship is going on there. Have you seen anyone throwing owambe part? Abeg leave sentiments and face reality. Pray in your house. Jesus is there in your heart. He is not missing!

    3. Weak religious sentimental argument. That some Mosques and shrines are still hiding to operate makes it right? Aren't there churches still operating amidst the lockdown? Does it make it right? That some of leaders of these so called Mosques and shrines are ignorant and stupid enough to still be operating makes it right? Do you see any Jumu'at mosque running in your area??

These are the kinda arguments and religious sentiments that only people like Oyedepo and FFK will feed you with

  8. Majority of these Pastors really feel they are gods. How dare u say smone will die....can you create life.
When i listen to d thing some of dese pastors say i honestly believe some may have mental illness.
Naso Jim Jones of Heavens Gate started going on a downward spiral when d Govt was against his "cult" and he committed mass suicide with his members. Not our portion here.

  9. I'm proudly a Winner, and I was in my cell for that service, Bishop was wrongly misquoted. He never said he was going against the law of the state and federal government, he declared and decreed, if you are a true believing Christian you would understand what he said, and you all stop dragging the church and the body of Christ. It's our offerings and thithe and we are not complaining.

    1. This is where you come in as a good citizen. Report any of such churches and Mosques to the security operatives and let them do their job. I know how many clerics have been arrested and fined in Kaduna for conducting worship amidst this lockdown

    2. I live in Apo. Which church? Apo that is a mix of both Muslims and Christians. If any church dares have even a silent remote service residents will be much too excited to report. That is if the authorities themselves don't wade in. App wey Muslims the pepper body that they can't gather for Ramadan? They will rat any church that true it.

  13. I was thinking all pastors will come together in agreement to fight this deadly disease, to fast and pray together so that this madness can all end but nope they are all there waiting for tithe and offering.

I heard that tithe and offering has been going on in some churches, they have three to five families come together in their locality. After each service the money they realise from offering and tithe is taking by one of the deacons, the person will move round to all the families where service was held and mop up all the cash then make a pos transaction to the church account. Some pastors are collecting offering and tithe on daily basis.

I think it’s time for oyedepo and oyakhikome to be arrested and questioned by the federal or state government. They are inciting the people against the government. They are not speaking for God , they are speaking for their stomachs. It is time to bring those two down. They must be taught a lesson in obedience to government laws. They are not anointed by God and they are very ‘touchable’. Fact !

  16. They don't love the people, they just love themselves and the money they are getting from the gatehring.

  17. Eesah, you seem to be an agent of the devil and an enemy of Christ and his church. Why are you under every comment that supports anything Christian, pastor or church? Be careful lest you find yourself fighting God while thinking you are fighting man,you know how that will end. Abraham paid tithe out of revelation, there was no law at his time that asked him to do so. David,Solomon etc gave to God out of revelation and love for God. We must worship God in Spirit and in truth for God is Spirit. Enough of this trying to worship God with our human senses. However,if you as a person feel that the tithes and offerings you are giving are being misused, then package them in envelopes and ask God to open your eyes to see those in your congregations that are needy;after church share it to as many of them as it can reach. You have given and God will bless you. To all faithful believers, stand firm in your believe and serve God faithful,be not discouraged in your well doing. There is a spiritual onslaught against the church,it's somewhat subtle and is aimed at making our love for God to wax cold. Shalom
