    2. I'm a lawyer and I can boldly say that these stories are true.

In 2011, I handled a somewhat similar story. The man was from the North and had been wrongly imprisoned in a prison in the East since 2003.

As at the time of his arrest, GSM wasn't so common, so he didn't have the number of his wife or family members.

He only had the number of a one time Chairman of the Hausa community down there who had once come to the prison to visit another inmate.

This man was over 60 years old and was rottening away in Prison. His crime? He was whisked away with some other persons by the Police at the middle of the night and they demanded bail money.

When he couldn't afford it, he was charged for armed robbery at the Magistrate Court and bundled in Prison, pending DPP advice.

The Nigerian Police is messed up. But you see the Judiciary? It is almost irredeemable!

The number of awaiting trial inmates across the Prisons are mostly the fault of an extremely corrupt Judiciary...particularly the Magistrate Court.

  2. Oh dear.. What did I just read? πŸ™†
This is really unfair. I wonder how he was unable to contact his family all the while. Thank God they found him alive. I pray that others who are unjustly imprisoned get help and find freedom πŸ™πŸΏ

  3. This was extremely unnerving, so he wasn't even allowed to make a phone call to his family? Just throw the whole country away abeg. Everything in this country is just really depressing.
And to the last two people whom tweeted about their brothers mysterious disappearance, I pray they are found. Chineke mekwa umu ya ebere.

  4. Wow. I know that feeling. My brother has been missing for years without a trace. Just left home and has neither called nor written. We believe he is alive somewhere and will be back some day. An only son .
Although, sometimes an evil one somewhere makes them wonder far from home, and just keep wondering another to spite the family. I have a friend whose sister left home and never returned, for over 15years. Their mum was not told until the woman passed on

    2. So touching... May God guide him wherever he may be. I know of someone whose elder brother left home over anonyance of what the dad did to him. It's over twenty five years he hasn't been seen or return home. He's the first son. He should be up to fifty years now or close to. So painful and disturbing.

    3. I pray he comes back safe. Had an uncle, who left our house over 30yrs, no one has seen or heard from him. My Grandma always prayed for him when we had our morning devotions.

  5. I say again, the NPF, are animals. They go around harming/killing innocent citizens. A neighbour was almost arrested years ago. He said they started picking random guys on the street, forcing them to enter the bus they came with. He refused to enter, and they moved on to the next person. By then, the ones in the bus were trying to get out. Who knows what would have happened to them.

  6. One of the greatest problems of this country is the NPF. They do not have an atom of regard for Human lives, illiterates, always on rampage and unable to contain their anger They're BEASTS in BLACK!!!😠

  8. So sad how the system here operates. So many persons are languishing in various prisons across the nation. Some have been killed without their family knowing about it. We live in an evil society where the heart of man is dangerously wicked. Only God can see us through.

  9. This is very common in Nigeria and it’s very true.May We not be at the wrong place at the wrong time.Iv seen innocent people used to replace armed robbers and other criminals in cells ..see en Nigeria is something else abeg.we are still 700 years behind on a lot of issues.

  10. This is no news o. If you've been on prison evangelism in Nigeria, it is so common to find such inmates.
Some of the female inmates get impregnated by the wardens and give birth there.
The hardened criminals who have monies outside are the "lords" of the prison yards. They have "servants" who are prisoners. The warders buy their hard drugs and bring them in.
And take them out when they want to, to "enjoy themselves" in motels.
    It is a huge mess.

  11. Why won't people keep heaping curses on the NPF. Heartless people. So many being held by the police are innocent. Thank God for the young man.

  15. This story reminded me of an old nollywood movie "When Flowers Turn Black" a very similar thing occurred. The guy was even renamed Samuel Okon which was the name of the criminal he was replaced with.

My cousin went missing for about 6 months. The parents thought he was in school, his school mates thought he was with us, we thought he was home with the parents. So apparently, it took some time before it dawned on everyone that he was missing.
So the search began. From friends places to grandparents, cousins to distant relatives, girlfriend to acquaintances. Then hospitals, police stations/cells.
Eventually, we found him in the mortuary!!
He had darkened already because he had been there for months his clothes were folded by his head. The mortuary attendants said he died from a road accident in a commercial bus. It was never reported and the manifest was destroyed by the transport company...

    10. God punish all those police men at the Ada george police station in port harcourt. But before you get the final punishment in hell, I will punish you here. Just wait. I am coming. Omofe, Sunday and that bastard Yellow pawpaw that touched my breast. As for your dpo that looks the other way, I will come like a thief in the night.
I can never have anything to do with someone that is connected to the police in anyway. I remember how much I liked a guy but the moment he told me his father was a police man, I spat at him and never spoke to Him again.

  17. The female inmates are sex toys. And those that play with the toys are the "rich" criminals and officials who recruit these inmates to "work in their homes".
The worse place is called the Nigerian police cells. Say a prayer after reading this "that you do not EVER have a police case that will get you in there".
The prison system is a heaven compared to the police cells. πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€

He Spent the night der and yesterday i was told 2 bring 100k last last i paid 45k 4 his release so he wont sleep der till monday. 31. Not only the police that are guilty of this. A colleague mum came to visit her son from another state, the day she left that was the last time they saw her
11 years later he got a call from his distant cousin that his mum walked into his studio to take picture, the mum didn't even recognize the cousin again. He drove down with his sis to go see for him self, the moment the mum saw them she recognized them and burst into tears.
When she was asked about her whereabout, she said someone invited her to a church and she started attending the church, they gave her a place to stay, she was used for labour for 11 years. In her absence her hubby died, her 4 kids got married. They went back to the church to confirm n get her belongings, see the pastor thanking them, telling them how hard their mum worked for the church. My colleague said they were to happy to see their mum n he just took her home. I was mad, if such ever happens heads will roll, that pastor will be arrested. Only God know the things they must have done to her cos she couldn't even remember anything about her stay there. Things are happening

I heard the confession of a policeman turned pastor, he shot an innocent guy at UI (University of Ibadan) during one of their protest, he lied about it, 20 years later after becoming a pastor and retiring from the force, his son was killed at the same spot, he had no choice than to come on TV to confess.

  40. This happened to my husband,we just got married, he was in his mid 20's while I was in my early 20.He tried direct short service in the Nigerian navy, two weeks into the training he was arrested and detained for 1yr3 months in the naval cell in pH. Unknown to us bcos he was without phone. When we got to know when I shocked he was so lean and dehydrated, when we asked for his offence we were told he forged his certificate. How did they know his certificate we're forged they said how can a man have two degree instead of masters. The thing weak me. Infact he was even forced to accept he forged the both certificate which he refused. When we went to the various schools he attended we were told the Nigerian navy came to verify the authenticity of his certificate but we told we not forged we were even given the sighed copy given to the Navy but they were bent on humilating dis fine young man. Case was taken to court after months he was released but the navy is yet to pay him his compensation and obey the court order. In other words our Nigeria security is a scam they are heartless and carefree
