Is there anybody hear who's familiar with contracts within the music industry? I'm hearing that the contract is more than fair, and that it doesn't even protect the record label financially. If that's true, Cynthia Morgan lied against an innocent man.

DeleteAs an entertainment lawyer, I would say the 360 degree contract is by all standard very fair for an unknown artiste as at 2013. The percentage sharing is 50/50 and the only thing she would have negotiated is the copyright, royalties. Artistes hardly ask for a review, they are mostly desperate to sign and get on board forgetting that the record label is not a charity organisation but a business venture. The record label spends money on the artiste production, creativity, branding, promotions and you expect them not to recoup their investment. When this artiste blow small they forget all the record label did. The labels are always at the back ground and we tend to listen to the artiste more when they cry wolf that their contract is unfair.
DeleteAs an artiste always make sure you ask your lawyer to review your contract and be patient to renegotiate on terms not favorable. Your creativity could fetch you money today and forever, but when u sell your right to the copyright of your recordings and royalties because of stardom, you have no one to blame but yourself.

People have been asking to Jude to speak up if he thinks he's innocent and now he chooses to speak up, he's termed "Agbaya"
Jude has kept quiet for long. He needs to start defending himself. I am not one to encourage linen washing in public but sometimes that is what is needed to clear one's name.
A cousin left my place years ago and went about the village with her mom to say I was this and that... I chose to ignore.
Years later, she's at my place again. Left again after almost two years with the same story. This time I had to respond to some of the allegations.
In fact, it was just a question and the next thing, mother and daughter said I was talking about them. I only asked those people who were taking sides with her "How is it that the same person you claimed threw you out the first time re-accommodated you?"

And as for those of you saying Peter was right to ask Jude to step down as business is different from family;
1. Apart from Jude, which other family member of theirs is involved in their career?... None... Meaning Jude is there not because "he's my blood mentality" but because he understands the music business.
2. When Jude sold his car to promote their music, why didn't Peter reject the offer, since family should not be mixed with business?
3. He suddenly realised the above after being made by the same person?
4. You can't deny that Jude knows and understands the business
5. The above is evident in the latter part of their career... Peter with the so-called structure he was whining about is still struggling musically while Paul who went with the one without structure is thriving
6. All ye Peter fans should tell him to face his family, music and structured life. Let him leave those without structures to their thing

Thank God for vindicating Jude, people were saying all soughts of unprinted things against him. The most annoying part is that his brother trying to bring him down. All this years he has kept on making us believe his brothers hate his wife and that is the problem between them without knowing he is even the problem, with his childish behavior of always running to social media for sympathy.
