Labour Room Drama 289

WOW!!!

Hello stella, I have been a BV and my favorite section has always been LRD even before I married , so best believe that when I became pregnant, I camped here reading stories as way back as......
Infact, I think I’ve finished all the stories in this Section,if I do say so myself.

I decided to share my story here because this was a promise I made to God that I will share my story here to uplift people and make them have faith in him,if he granted my prayers.

When I found out I was pregnant,as a first time mum, I was so excited and nervous at the same time. Pregnancy and labor has been something that scares me since I was a little girl cos I have very low pain threshold. So I really read everything I could to prepare myself for it.

Anyway, the pregnancy was so uneventful, all doctors appointment were on point , good Blood pressure, weight and my baby was alright. I think this made me not to spiritually fortify myself. I was having it all easy.

During the 38th week, as I’ve already equipped myself with all information about early labor signs and all and waiting for the D- day.I decided to go check the weight of my baby and they discovered that she is the breech presentation.

The doctor said I will have to book for CS in the next 2 weeks time because my baby was never going to turn to the head down position again due to her age and size . It was a very difficult information for me to process. First, I don’t have anything against CS but my birth plan has always been to give birth via vagina delivery, because from what I’ve read here, it’s less painful especially in recovery to go back to your normal life.

Also I’m not based in Nigeria but due to some issues, I couldn’t travel back to the abroad so I had to just give birth in Nigeria and I honestly don’t trust Nigerian hospital with my body to perform any surgery. So I was really freaked out.

My husband and I were so confused and just like that, the excitement we had about meeting our baby vanished and turned to worry.I checked YouTube and all round the internet to see what I could do to make my baby turn, I tried all the techniques and nothing worked.

That was when I decided to go back to the drawing board and read about faith and speaking things into existence,a book from Kenneth Hagin. I held unto Gods word in mark 11:23-24 and told God to prove him words with my situation. I went full prayer mode like I have never before. Mehn,That week was really like the craziest week in my entire life. I kept doing scans almost everyday ,but still my baby was still leg down. So in my mind, I started preparing for CS, because at the end of the day, you have to save do what’s recommended to save your life and your baby too.

So I decided to have my relation do the procedure for me .My inlaw is a consultant in O&G, and because I don’t trust Nigerian doctors, I decided to go there. The hospital he works was like 2 states away from where we stayed.so it was quite a long journey.

On getting there,we booked the CS for the night because we have had enough of stress already waiting and the baby have started to kick dangerously and have started regressing in weight due to all the stress we have been through the past weeks,so I decided it’s time to take her out and end it.While we were concluding the blood tests and all,my inlaw decided to do a scan and saw that nothing was responsible for keeping my child in the wrong position,so he decided to manipulate the baby to see if she would turn and voila! She did.

I was induced immediately and boom! Na then the story begin. Ha!

At first, I was not feeling much pains ,it was just like menstrual pains and it continued for like 4hrs, I was walking around the hospital with my husband, I was like “shey it’s small thing that people are complaining about “

Hahahahaha,my mum laughed and Said when the real labor comes, I won’t be able to talk to her. I climbed all staircases ,walked around the hospital. The nurses were hailing me that I’m quite agile and strong for a first time mother. I was so confident.when I dilated up to 2cm,they broke my water sac and then that was when the intense pain started.

It was sooooo painful.I was given hot drip and pitocin. I felt an unimaginable pain.Thinking about it makes me cry till now,my husband was crying too. I almost ran mad o. I asked my mum why she didn’t explain to me what I’m about to experience, they lied to me that it was easy, I cursed my sisters and every woman that lied to me.My husband was begging me to please be strong, that we won’t have a baby again if we get through with this one.

The pain was excess that I even begged for pain reliever and I was finally given some which made me drowsy. I refused to sleep cos I don’t know if na from there,I no go fit come back this life again.

This continued for like 5hrs which really felt like a year to me. Then I had the pooping sensation, I already know what it is, so I screamed and called the nurses and they confirmed full dilation. By then, I didn’t have any energy anymore,so I prayed to God to be my strength and help me push out this baby. And of course my God came through for me once again, and I just had 3 pushes and a tear and boom my princess came out crying weighing 3.0kg. The feeling I had was so surreal. I cried and sang unto the lord.

The lord indeed came through for me in my moment of weakness. I’m forever indebted to him and to anyone reading this, just know that there’s nothing the lord cannot do.halleuyah!

Congrats!!!

  31. Congrats poster!! Happy for you.

What I didn't like about your post was how you kept blabbing about not trusting Nigerian doctors. Your in-law consultant that you went to ,is he an Indian man!!! Abeg let's give our Nigerian doctors some credit.

    Once again congrats.
