It’s been pretty busy since this pandemic started, the demand for Doctor's services has increased and it has been a quite overwhelming.People have suddenly given attention to their mental health,finding themselves with new challenges.
I was speaking to a journalist when my secretary knocked at the door and said there is a client who would like to see me urgently.I apologized to the journalist and rescheduled our meeting.
I went in to see her and she told me her heart was bleeding and needed someone to talk to,I encouraged her with a nod to carry on.
She said her husband was having an affair and she can’t get over the betrayal.she said her husband is a man of great influence,a well known philanthropist in the society and this made it hard for her to share his infidelity with anyone.
I told her I understood the way she felt but asked her if she had confronted her spouse about it.she said she did and he pleaded with her that it will never happen again but It is a complicated relationship she said.I was still trying to pacify her when her husband swung my door open, shouting at the top of his voice, to end the session ....
He insisted they leave at once ....
He looked at her straight in the face and asked her if she wants to jeopardize his status.I assured him i was trustworthy but His wife started sobbing uncontrollably like a child.She said she needed help and there was no way she could keep it to herself anymore.
I quickly intervened and asked both of them to calm down.Her husband had become angrier at this point and banged on my table and threatened her that if she said a word, she should kiss the marriage good bye.He warned me to stay out of their affair but she continued sobbing saying why!why and asking him why he did that to her and the kids...
There was a loud silence...............
The silence ended with a deafening reply from her husband
''I am in love with him.please forgive me''.

ReplyDeleteFor most men who are bisexual, gay, it started in their secondary school days. Especially for those who went to all male secondary schools. In my school it was bloody. There use to be a cinema where Adebowale electronics is, close to Ozeigbe junction, along mission road, near new Benin market. Some senior students went to watch a porn movie called INTERCEPTION OF THE WINDOW CLEANERS. They came back to school to vandalise the anus of the junior students in their corners. The next day they where expelled from school and asked to come sit for their WAEC exams from home. In my final year, I over heard my house master who thought he could use me to spy on my mates and another house master saying my friend was having homo sex with a clads 3 student. It was devasting, l was to know after school that the guy l shared the same corner with in my final yesr was sleeping with the 3 junior students in our corner. I slept in another hostel for most of final year. I believed that nonsense was just my school thing, till l started hearing stories from friends and neighbours who attended Annunciation Catholic college Irrua, Edo college, Immaculate conception college, Saint Patrick's college Asaba. This happened between 1976 and 1981, l don't know if it's still happening.
