"From the data we have, it still seems to be rare that an asymptomatic person actually transmits onward to a secondary individual," Van Kerkhove said on Monday.
"We have a number of reports from countries who are doing very detailed contact tracing. They're following asymptomatic cases, they're following contacts and they're not finding secondary transmission onward. It is very rare -- and much of that is not published in the literature," she said. "We are constantly looking at this data and we're trying to get more information from countries to truly answer this question. It still appears to be rare that an asymptomatic individual actually transmits onward."

I've lost faith in the WHO. They've been doing guess work from day 1 of this pandemic.
ReplyDeleteI won't blame them. Corona virus has been in existence but the covid-19 strain is new. They're all trying to get to understand the virus. So ideas may be opposing for now, but surely, we shall overcome.
DeleteThis WHO should stop talking from all sides of their mouth. If asymptomatic people cannot transmit the virus then, how come is the virus spreading like wild fire?

Please maintain social distancing, everyone is a suspected Covid-19 patient for now. That is how to keep safe especially in Nigeria.
Now I don't blame Trump for losing confidence in WHO.
Personally, l think they are right on this one cause this explains why Covid-19 hasn't yet killed everyone in Nigeria

DeleteEESAH dear, it hasn't killed a lot of Nigerians because God has decided to show us mercy. If you have been on social media in the last two weeks you will know that Covid-19 is being under reported in Nigeria, With people having varying symptoms yet insisting it's malaria and typhoid.

I think WHO is confused.Today, they will say something, the next day they will counter it. They have not even taken out time to understudy this virus to fully understand how it’s spreading. Till then, I will not take their word for it but follow the basic guidelines and stay safe.
