  2. Why not?

If she has all the potentials and attributes i desire in my dream woman, am so putting a ring on it and if my friend tries to say rubbish, he will wash plate and pick bottles on the wedding ceremony between us๐Ÿ˜

    1. Exactly!
If he saw me and passed me over to ask my friend out, no way would i date him after she has rejected him.

This is how "situations" come about.

  9. I don't even know if mine fits this but I'm currently dating my ex-boyfriend's friend and neighbour.
Ex-boyfriend was a motherfucker (pronounce motherfucker in Samuel El Jackonson's voice), always cheating, random slaps etc. One time current BF even confronted him and they almost fought. I didn't know he had eyes for me.
Anyway, ex went back to his shithole country (Cameroon) then few years later current BF decided to make his move, and guys, I'm enjoying everything. Hopefully, it all works out.
    Fingers crossed.

  20. No, I wouldn't. A guy in school back then was asking my friend out and she was just taking her time so she said "No" while still being friends with him. He later met me through her and was asking me out. Well, I told her and he lost out.

My sister in law did it with my brother and they are both living well. When I asked how they met I was shocked. She said he was asking her friend out but her friend said: "no" because she just got jilted by her man and was heartbroken. She approached her friend and told her" This guy is too cute, please if you know you aren't interested kindly let me know instead of both of us losing out on him". To which her friend gave her the go-ahead. They have been married for some years now and it's been bliss and she is still friends with the other lady.

So it works out for some.

  29. I dated a married man with absolutely no knowledge that he was married. He took me to his friend's place and posed as if that was his house. He had clothes, shoes, old and new pictures of his planted there. He made it seem as if the other guy was his friend and just squatting with him.
So after a while, he started changing. Will never show up on dates, stood me up severally, will not take my calls or call after two days and will not bother giving any explanations.
I decided to visit him unannounced to see what's going on.I happened to meet the "squatter"at home. And I asked him what's going on and explained everything to him. This guy started berating the"boyfriend", how he has told him to always tell girls the truth, how he has told him to stop lying that he will marry every girl(because he said that to me and that made me feel it's a defined relationship and he even took me to his village to "show" me to his mom) etc. And now finally told me that the "boyfriend" is married and just planted all his stuff in the house to make it look convincing to girls. That he(supposed squatter)just finds it hard to ask him to stop bringing girls to his house..
My people, I CRIED because I felt I couldn't be deceived again in this life.
Well, his friend, the supposed squatter became an instant friend, and was calling to check on me once in a while. And chatting most times. He asked me out and I refused at first because I was concerned about what people will say and so many other factors but he pressed on and his resilience kinda convinced me and I naively accepted. And I thought he was different as well, due to the way he condemned the other guy's actions. One time, I even asked him if he didn't mind that I once had a thing with his friend and he said it doesn't bother him. That he doesn't judge people like that. But my people, this guy was worse. He was emotionally unavailable. I just couldn't tell where I stood with him. I couldn't tell if he loved me or not. He will not call for one week or more. But whenever I summon the courage to walk away, he'll come begging after some days.
One of those days he was kinda avoiding me, I went there unannounced and that day, I got to meet his MAIN girlfriend of three years. Meaning, all this while, I've been a sidepiece. You see,Heartbreak is an understatement to how I felt that day. I cried so much because I felt terrible and USED cos I couldn't understand the fact that each time I left, he'll come begging yet he didn't love me,all the lies he ever told me were just staring me in the face that day, that's when I got to understand that most of the stories he told me had so much holes in them... So anything that has "friend" tied to it,count me out.
Stella please, ejor post my comment.

  34. My husband toasted my friend when we were in year 2, she turned him down and felt he wasn’t her spec. He asked me out in year 3 and I was so angry with him, after a while I was extremely ill and he was so doting, coupled with the fact that he was very brilliant and would do tutorial and past questions together during exam time. My mum and sibling encouraged me to date him. We dated and eventually got married. My friend is very successful and has brought out the best in me. My friend stopped being close to me and I know she regrets turning him down. We’ve been married for 13 years and I’m the One with the ATM card. My friend is stilll unmarried. Her shakara was too much and she felt no one was good enough.

    1. She will meet her own man soonest. There is no latecomer in marriage you know๐Ÿ˜‰
Your friend should be in her thirties now. People get married at any age. If she regrets (which I doubt) then she only regrets because she hasn't met the one for her yet and not because she likes him that way( romantically). If someone isn't your type then they aren't for you can't force it. If she had married him and later on met her spec her regretful feeling would triple the one you think she feels at the moment. I regretted turning a lot of guys down when I was single and the regret never stemmed from the fact that they were the right ones for me but because I was lonely. It's a natural feeling but with time when you meet your type you look back and laugh. Better be lonely for a while and let everyone see you through a pathetic lens than be with someone who isn't your type, don't you think? She won't be single till eternity.

    2. "Her shakara was too much and she felt no one was good enough." You have the guy, why do you feel the need to judge her? You said she is very successful - maybe she is a driven person and her priority for success may be on same level as marriage or more. In my mind, she was even wise and respectful in keeping her distance and staying on her lane. That doesn't necessarily mean regret. If she comes too close now, you may start suspecting her as many married Nigerian women do. Honestly I like your friend, married or not is irrelevant. I like the babe.

My cousin is getting married to someone I turned down. I am super happy for them. But Cuz keeps asking me why I said No to him like 8 years ago ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„ and me I have decided to be mute about my reasons.๐Ÿคท

    1. Don't know your reason for keeping mute since she knew he asked you out first.

But I think it would be good if you told her if it was due to something based on his principles and morals. Be your sister's keeper code.

Anyhow, this would have been better done before the relationship progressed. Right now, if you do, your intentions might be misunderstood.

  36. What if he is intimidating to the girl? I toasted a girl who felt that she is not in my social class. I learned about it later. Refusing a guy's advance sometimes doesn't mean something is wrong with the guy. Some ladies think handsome guys are players and will refuse to date him just as some guys believe that a lady driving a nice car and livingbin her own apartment is a coded runs girl. Some men will not touch her with a ten feet pole. Don't judge a person because of the insecurity of your friend.

  38. In my own case my friend and I were friends with my now hubby. She became more friendly with the guy first while I was distant. The guy eventually asked me out and proposed and because I liked him and ticked most of my boxes, I agreed and we got married.

It was after we got married that he started telling me how he and my friend used to flirt with each other. That my friend liked him and used to visit his house and they do all the smooching but never had sex. I never knew and never saw them close apart from when we meet while going to work. my friend also never even told me. My hubby said he never liked her but couldn't push away whenever she came around. I was really surprised and told him he should have told me all these before we got married. Nevertheless, I don't regret marrying him and my friend doesn't relate with me any longer.
