    1. It doesn't cease to amaze me. People are wondering why asuu doesn't want the gov to open schools. On a good day public schools are overcrowded. Just one arm can have up to 4 full classes. Without adequate provision of supplies and standby medical care, how will the children be protected? Some of the teachers are not so young, if they get it from the students will they survive? We all know kids, is it easy to restrain them from interacting socially? Has there been any directive from WAEC that the exam will still hold this year? I think when numbers are down we can gradually open. But the numbers I see every day are scary. We thank God that people have not died as much as it has been abroad but is that what we want to happen before we take precautions? It is someone healthy that can write exams and go to the next class. It is someone healthy that can teach. Just saying........ ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝ‍♀️
Many still don't believe there is covid. People are mostly not using masks or social distancing. May God continue to protect us.

Anon you said it all best!!!! Too many silly people who think they are smart when they put doubtful statements. Meanwhile this COVID is spreading like wildfire. All the morgues in Lagos are FULL!! The only reason we aren’t seeing more visible dead ppl is we don’t have an elderly population like the western world. How many of our elderly ppl who are alive have had bypass surgeries and all. The ones we had died but there are many older ppl abroad managing. All it takes is a bad virus like COVID to put them over and they die in days!!
A friend who is Nigerian abroad at 40 had COVID and 2 months after testing negative, her body is still suffering from the effects! It scars your lungs, kidneys and messes you up! Many ppl never recover 100%!! It’s not something anyone wants period! This isn’t malaria, so let’s not act like it is!! You don’t know how your body will respond to it

    3. Liz/Zaram and others,

Can we please be a bit reasonable? When in doubt about something. Anything, please, THINK IT THROUGH.

Like most diseases, it's not the sickness/infection/ virus/ bacteria etc itself that kills.

Complications arise from these ailments and one may succumb to those complications. This is what may or may not result in a fatality.

      Organs shut down.
The immune system does a flip on you and so on.

Having said that, won't the commissioner for health KNOW precisely what he is suffering (suffered) from? He was a brilliant medical practitioner.

Gosh! What is wrong with some of us?

How much do we think the international communties gave to Nigeria that can make up for what the country has lost? Do we have the foggiest idea of how much each economy (across the world) is losing every second? Do you know the loss to most affluent people? Do you think they will allow their businesses crumble? Do you know what the large businesses are losing?

Do you have the slightest idea what Lagos state alone has lost in the last 3 months?

Are the other countries manufacturing the bodies in morgues, cemeteries or crematoriums?

Is Ghana also playing Nigerian politics? Is S/A? Is Rwanda also complicit?

The United Kingdom, Canada, Asia, United Arab Emirates, and others are also playing politics right?

      Russia? Germany?

Please!!!! People like you should STOP!

Nigeria CANNOT deal with the full wrath of this virus if it hits us full force. We simply do not have the resources.

Kindly keep your doubts to yourself if you do not believe but stop undoing the work some of us are embarking on daily to sensitise others. Please!

      Thank you.

    4. COVID most likely killed them because they are at high risk of the disease. Apart from being more elderly, they are more likely to have meetings (convene in groups) plus more likely to have comorbidities. If they follow COVID research news they should know that blacks are dying more cos blacks are more likely to have some covid-friendly underlying illnesses (hypertension and diabetes), also most in their age group never exercise or eat healthy. I'm glad our generation is seeing the benefits of GYM and Healthy eating. Even me I need to cut out white bread and rice by half.
