When you shortchange someone
You don't have a fixed price for your product. You tell the first person 80k, the second person120k and the third person, 150k.
You dilute your oil and tell people it's hundred percent carrot oil, onion oil and orange oil etc
You sew a dress a person paid for and keep the extra zip to use for another person's dress or the excess linen you add to another lerson's material and you make them believe you had gone to the market to but that and you get paid extra. That money be it 100 naira is ill gotten.

DeleteYou explained it right! However the way she explained it has plenty grey areas. If I buy something for 50k and sell it for 150k, that’s on me and it’s not illicit or illegal. I put so much money on advert and all to make it very appealing to you.
DeleteThere will be very very few billionaires if we follow this process. Even Amazon pays his warehouse employees $16/hr and keeps recording billions upon billions in profits. Does that mean it is illicit? She’d do same if she was in his shoes.
Lastly is that contract. Agreement is agreement. If you don’t know your worth and I tell you I’d give you 20% of a contract and you do it, that’s your business. I once sold some arrangeable furnitures for someone online. Account that I’ve built over the years and I was selling at exactly double the price he gave to me. Within 5 months, I had remitted over $70k to him. He found out I was selling for double and he became angry and stopped supplying. He wanted to sell on his own but guess who is calling me today that he wants to continue? Guess who has new Chinese supplier?

Delete@YBNL, your analysis is so true, sometimes not so obvious overheads dictates these differentials and also where you place your brand, your target markets and much more. I don't subscribe though to those that deliberately alter quality to get more profits. But if two individuals sells exactly the same thing & one prices the item higher and the target market is agreeable to buying it at the higher price, then that is not cheating. It's funny but there are people that feel certain items have to be pricey to ascertain their authenticity.

Fuel attendant adjusting their metres to cheat ppl, telling u dis is new yam wich is a lie, beating d price of an item ridiculously down cos u knw d person needs money desperately, cutting corners on d queue etc. May God help us

When people tell me you are so prudent.....l know for sure, it isn't because l studied Economics,that the trait is follow come.

I run my own race, and God is winning for me.
May God grant us the wisdom not sell our eternity for things that are passing and perishable. Once you're able to live contented life you'll be happy.
DeleteIf you are truly concerned for lost souls and sinners, then pray for them. We can condemn sinful actions but not sinners coz we were once sinners saved by Grace alone. After being saved by grace, do you now turn around and accuse others? Jesus died for us WHILE we were still sinners. Pray that they will embrace God's grace through the help of the Holy Spirit. May God's wisdom guide us.
ReplyDeleteJesus didn't just pray for sinners, he admonished them and in some cases told them point blank, you will die in your sin if you don't repent. He let them see that he loved them but was against their sins...
