Billionaire Daughter DJ Cuppy Talks About Learning The Power Of Her Voice...

Nigerian-born, London-based DJ and producer, Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola (born 1992), is incredibly bubbly, open and passionate about her life and work.

Taking it back a few decades, she talks about her days growing up in Lagos. “I come from a very entrepreneurial, ambitious family and I had the most exciting childhood ever. My parents did not give me one second of free time – from swimming lessons to learning to play the piano, to Yoruba and cooking lessons.” Though that may have seemed overwhelming as a little child, Cuppy reveals she appreciates the opportunities she’s had to grow as an individual. “[My parents] were very proactive and they were very supportive.

I wanted to be an ice skater once, and they said: Great, let’s do that! When I wanted to become a tennis player, their response was: Let’s do that! My parents, despite being very busy, were very invested in us as children.”

On her work:

“I feel like a body of work is going to represent my overall sound and I’m a lot more dynamic than people think I am.”

On self-confidence:

“I’m quite a self-assured person, so no one will ever deter me from doing what I want to do.”

On her brand:

“I’ve always felt like I have what I call my own pink print! For me, it’s all about finding a way of creating my own story my own way.”

On life lessons:

“I’m realising that I’ve built a brand that people may not always agree with but are willing to hear from – and it’s about making that into something positive.”

  5. This girl has no true friends and it is so bad. Basically all the people around, follow her because of daddy's money SMH.
Florence your voice is terrible, your skin complexion looks dirty and unkempt for a rich girl.
You need to lose weight or join nollywood as size doesn't matter in the movie industry.
That pink hair - oh dear you are no Katy Perry, in fact people are laughing at you and not with you. Spend money on good weave, surely you can afford to speak $1k on hair, ask daddy if you don't have.

Anyways, it is your money so please continue entertaining us since you and papy love the fame.

Stella please post this comments, let this girl hear the truth for once.

I like her positive vibes.. I was telling someone that part of the reason why many of us are short tempered is hardship, remove hardship and watch us 'cuppylize' Lol CC Davido, Kiddwaya, Damola Adedoyin, Kenneth Okolie

    2. You really are a gutter cheap tramp. From their comments you will know them. Your assumptions of what the rich life is; is totally false. With this bitterness in you how can you really break in? No one asked your papa not to blow in his time. You can try and blow yourself so that your kids don't inherit this bitter bile of yours towards the rich. Tuehhh

    3. Why don't you tell her the truth to her face whenever you see her?

Na wah oh..Her skin is far from dirty abeg.Say something else.cuppy and her sisters have that rich people skin.shiny brown, smooth, spotless amazing, refreshing and youthful skin. They have beautiful chocolate skin..Must a person be fair/bleach before you know they are rich and enjoying money??.That is why I love the Otedola girls.Despite all the money and pressure, they haven't touched their beautiful brown skin with chemicals.

The girls are mostly on braids, pony or fix in good quality weaves to blend their natural hair.Na una get money to buy 100k/600k hair from popular IG vendors naa.To famze and prove what not with plenty manes and long horse hair, when u are not caucasian.

Olodo Sapiosexual you are right.Rich kids are on constant cruise, they are just living their best life and doing what they love doing, regardless of how unserious society may view them.I think they are trained with a lot of self-confidence and boldness. The things other BBN housemates gather for chest,Kiddwaya no send.Poverty makes people aggressive mehn!!Money good oh.I pray i can afford such life for my kids.

She sings so well, her skin tone is even and flawless for a superstar and she looks just right to achieve what she inspires to be, forgive me please I am wrong and bitter.
Girl get yourself a good manager and get serious, the world you want to break into isn't all roses unless you want to remain an African star.

    2. Lol..let people be themselves please.

Some people here over package themselves that they cannot laugh when a joke is shared.

They cannot flow freely with others or respond when you say hello to them when they comment.

They don't come to every page stella creates because they don't want to be all over the blog.

There are some people they won't interact with because they don't want the value they have created in their own eyes to get tainted or lose credence.

Still it's their choice but when you see someone just being free you try to silence them.

Leave this fine girl alone. She is always on her lane.

  13. Cuppy is really pushing. She's been so bent on breaking in. She don try. The name calling, the abuses and how people laughed at her yet she's still doing her thing. One mega hit for her that's all I want for her to shame all those laughing and mocking her. She can choose to relax and be pretty and enjoy daddy's money but No, girl is pushing. I admire her.

    3. People hate what they don't have. They hate when you are pretty, when you are rich, when you are smart, when you have what they lack. It's insecurity.

    4. They hate her because she is privileged. How is that her fault? Awon bad belle.

  15. I never liked cuppy. But I saw her give an interview once after an event, and gosh...she was real. Cuppy is fully aware, she is first to know many people don't like her, that people think her sound is wack, that she is nothing but just daddy's money, yet she keeps pressing on. She is courage in human form. Mark my words, I don't know her in person but that's a girl that will leave a mark on time and you will remember her name when it's all said and done. Keep the name stored, you'll need it when she comes alive. keep pressing cuppy!! Your true fans are growing!! Dave

    2. What is this "truth" you keep going on about. Why are you the purveyor of the truth. She is herself, she likes pink hair!. Sure she can afford thousand dollar hair but she likes pink hair. She doesnt have to conform to your ideas of what she should be!. Free your mind!

  18. There is always something about this girl that rubs me the wrong way. I cant believe that I can hate someone so much

  19. She is a quiet, well brought up down to earth lady but those wishing for family blessings like hers, be careful what you wish for. Not all that glitters is gold. Regardless of their challenges, all the female in her family, including her aunts are down to earth and real. Don’t hate her because her dad was a beneficiary of a system she didn’t create. Besides, you don’t know the total family package. Every family has their challenges, she and her sisters smile and make the best of their lives. Ice skating lessons must not be in Naija though? Maybe she is talking about UK there! This girl has a degree from NYU so she is not a spoilt brat. She has her education to fall back on! Reserve the hate for her dad who with just a high school diploma benefited from the crooked cronyism and corruption in Nigeria! Blame Obasanjo and others who continue the tradition!
