On Thursday August 13th, SDK Blog posted an exclusive story titled Nigerian Airport Officials Allegedly Collecting Money In Place Of COVID 19 Tests..

This is their response to the call out story...thanks to whoever brought this to their attention......

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has said that it has begun an investigation into allegations that some officials at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja were collecting bribe from passengers on evacuation flights

FAAN in a statement by its General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Henrietta Yakubu, which was released on Sunday August 16th via its Twitter account said that an investigation into the allegation has commenced.

It also advised passengers to desist from giving money to airport officials and to report any official from any agency that requests money under any guise.

    1. Next is to show us the condition of the quarantine centre. If it's terrible, they will still pay.

  2. They should use the culpable staff of these agencies as scapegoats - name and shame them publicly plus suspend them for 3 months without pay/demote them.

FAAN management should also place public notice to this effect and make periodic announcement on the PAS to warn passengers against such extortion.

  3. This is so true. My hubby told me his friend paid 180k last week to the airport officials so he won't be quarantined. I was so shocked. So good someone brought it to Stella's attention. I should have thought of that immediately. This country is so messed up!

    1. Hello Elena, the country can't be held culpable. The citizens can. In this instance, your hubby's friend! Unfortunately, when individuals continue to circumvent policies, rules, regulations etc, even the law abiding citizens suffer home and abroad!.
