  5. Umm! Not to spoil the fun but the deterioration of Nigeria is somewhat complete. No sense of national pride. I love soccer but where are the looters who will build and operate stadiums providing jobs, good jobs while resuscitating our once vibrant Enugu Rangers, IICC, etc I still remember IICC vs Zamalek games at Liberty Stadium where one "baba" will go round chanting "Zamalek will not see in the daytime, like an albino".

I remember our Super, Flying and Golden Eagles , Eaglets.Winning world cups, the junior teams at least, exporting talents like Amokachi, Kanu etc The shameful thing about the loot beneficiaries is that they are worse than colonialists who left us at some point. They took money, destroyed institutions and created mass poverty while they spend $$$$ on first class ticket to watch live games that talent abounds to play in Nigeria!

If you renovate each of those regional stadiums and get a soccer academy going, Nigerian league will be better than the league of those days...but our youths do not know better than Arsenal and Chelsea etc. Don't misunderstand me, you can still watch these but our country will be more vibrant, there will be more jobs and talents discovered. Hakeem Olajuwon, ("The Dream) would have died in poverty had he not been discovered and later played for Houston Rockets. It was in part because we had no developed basketball league in Nigeria where height confers an advantage. No Abuse please. I am not just an older person talking, I have walked and I hope to still walk my talk, God willing, with my hard earned money by His Grace.
