Women And PreMenstrual Dysphoric Disorder

Premenstrual Dysphoric disorder (PMDD) is a severe form of premenstrual syndrome (PMS ) and it is worse than anything you can imagine, infact it is horrible!.

The blog visitor who brought this to my attention says...........

''Stella,I’d really love for you to raise some awareness about PreMenstrual Dysphoric disorder (PMDD) If you don’t mind.
it’s worse than PMS and largely undiagnosed with little research.

I have suffered this for years. I had no idea what it was called but I knew it would start around a week to my period and completely disappear once my period starts.

Stella, talk about being literally depressed. When it starts ehn, it’s like my body is being taken over against my will. My usual loving and positive self slips away and this dark person just takes over. There is absolutely nothing I can do but surrender.

I am literally pinned to the bed and it will take everything to get me out, I become weak and can’t even speak. A crazy rage wells up inside of me and I could bring down the whole house if I only could muster the strength. Fortunately I am all alone these times and there’s no reason to lash out. I can’t even stand to be around anyone. I am irritated, itchy and can’t focus.

It’s like I am in another world during this time. I see my phone ringing and the only call I can pick is my mum’s. I have no desire or strength to function. All activities cancelled. This of course my productivity as I have to take days off work or cancelled any planned event.

Once my period starts, the dark cloud usually lifts and I am back. Feels like I have another chance at life again. I start to make up for lost time, apologise for all the missed calls and drama I caused.

I noticed it got worse over the years and I started to research. It was such a relief to know i wasn’t alone or cursed or that it wasn’t an evil spirit taking over my body every month.

I want people to be aware and try to get a diagnosis by taking notes to see if they have symptoms just before their period starts.

There are treatments and lifestyle changes that could help manage this. I am doing a lot better now and am able to plan ahead and work around it.

If you are diagnosed, It helps to let your loved one know what it’s about so they can help you avoid the triggers and provide support.

P.S My mum is still trying to wrap her head around it and thinks it’s a demonic attack. Whatever sha. God is a great healer''

Hmmm,so it is possible that some Ladies have PMDD and they don't know it and think they are suicidal and depressed.

  1. If you ask me, all these are satanic attacks with scientific diagnosis.

Make una sofri dey disagree with me.

Derek Prince' 'They Shall Expel Demons' opened my eyes to things that seemingly appear ordinary but have demonic undertones.

  8. After I became I Christian,
I learned to fast some days in a week, drinking water.
I learned to share in the Holy communion like Christ taught.
I discovered that all my menstrual issues ceased.
Instead of arguing this, study God's Word(e.g. 1 Cor. 11:29-30 etc.) and discover why.

  9. Mine starts about ten days to my period and the pain comes like contractions, it feels like my uterus is smeared with pepper and wants to fall out. The pain lasts for about 30 minutes and it happens like 2 or 3 times a day, especially in the middle of the night. Whenever i take something hot or really bitter, like concentrated lipton or lemon, it doesn't come back till the next day.

  10. Kai... mine begins days to my period. I literally become suicidal. I have been on the brink of killing myself and kids several times. To make matters worse I am going through w divorce and I'm back with my parents. I knew there was something wrong with me all these years but didn't know what it was. I learned to live with it, confess the word of God and speak positive things into My life and kids no matter how I feel. I just wait it out... 2weeks each month though... πŸ˜‘

  11. I used to have this too until I started having kids. Trust me it is a terrible feeling. Things that normally should not irritate me will irritate me. I become very agressive and snap easily. I gain weight unexplainably. But the moment my period start I start to feel better and lighter.

  15. Thanks for sharing Stella. One in 10 women experience PMDD

It’s the body reacting to reproductive hormones and affect women differently

I have learnt to take It to God in prayers, I also take Evening primrose oil daily with Vit B6 and control my diet.
It is tough being a woman for some.
