APC Leader Bola Tinubu Press Release On EndSARS Protests

Bola Ahmed Tinubu a.k.a Jagaban, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has backed the #EndSARS protest calling for an end to Police brutality in Nigeria.

His media aide,Tunde Rahman released a press statement on Saturday...

The statement reads: “There is a need to set the facts and record straight for fear that such a fake story may be taken on its face value by some unwary and gullible persons.

Asiwaju Tinubu could not have sponsored the #EndSARS protest that has blocked one of the main entries into and out of Lagos and one of the economic arteries of the Lagos State Government. He could also not have sponsored such a protest where he too has been labelled a target by the organizers.

Secondly, whereas Asiwaju Tinubu believes in the right of Nigerians to freedom of expression, assembly, and protest where and when necessary, he has always canvassed the need for people to explore peaceful channels to ventilate their views and demands.

He believes the #EndSARS protesters have made their demands, which the Federal Government is studying. Like most Nigerians, Asiwaju believes that SARS’ brutality and untoward conduct against innocent youths and other Nigerians have gone on for too long and that security outfit ought to be disbanded as demanded by the protesters.

“Asiwaju Tinubu believes it’s now time for our youths to wait, exercise restraint for dialogue and reform to commence. It is therefore the height of illogicality to ascribe the sponsorship of the protest to Asiwaju. The sponsors of this fake news forget that the protest is so widespread and cuts across the country.”

  1. There's nothing like peaceful channel on Nigerian issues. If Buhari can negotiate with Boko Haram to an extent freeing Sokoto Kabiru the mastermind of the Christmas eve bomb blast in Niger state, why can't he negotiate with the youths all along for a better Nigeria? The only language they listen to is when the nation have been grounded by protesters.

It was a slap on our face to disband SARS and at the same day came up with SWAT. Are they mad? Do they think we are stupid like them?

We are ready this time for them. It's now or never. Enough is Enough.

    1. Tinubu is a disgrace. He thinks by concocting the above story, he'll look like he's on the side of the youths. What a joker. Enough is Enough.

    4. Lol his business aka tollgate is loosing revenue. Desperation is at work. They will say anything to get the protesters off the road. If it doesn’t work, they will get very aggressive and start threatening the celebs individually via calls and texts since they are the ones championing the protests.

    1. Point of correction, the protest didn't cut through the country, it's only halfway through because the Northern youths are not with us and conspicuously staying away from our struggles.

    2. Because your struggles is against SARS. Police officers in the north are well behaved. I'm a southerner in the north east and I can tell you SARS helped in the fight against insurgents. When the north was protesting against insecurity did you guys join them? Insurgents have killed more Northerners than the whole of NPF have killed in the 60yrs of Nigeria's existence

  7. Is he asking the youths to back down? This was a man that took part in almost every protests organised against Jonathan's government but that can't be said of him in this present administration because of his personal interest. Tinubu and his likes rode on the back of protest, masquerading themselves as democrats only to go quiet the moment they took over power. The Nigerian youths now know better. We will come after all of you in no distant time. For now, keep enjoying your ill gotten wealth.

  17. Buhari and his northern advisors believe #EndSARS is sponsored, I've received calls from 2 people inside his camp asking who sponsored the protest with style.

They don't understand how young people can organize a protest and crowd fund money. Buhari is still taking this thing as a joke. He doesn't understand social media and its reach. They don't understand how frustration and pain can cause this movement.

    We are winning this
