Gov Sanwo Olu Says The Soldiers Got The Instructions Wrong About The Time To Arrive At Lekki Tollgate

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has said the security officers who shot at End SARS protesters got the instruction wrong.

Sanwo-Olu while expressing shock and surprise over the shooting said he found out about the incident from the wife of a cabinet member who called him.

According to him, the instruction was that the officers will not be out until 10-10:30pm when all citizens have gotten to their various homes.

“The events that started around 7-7:30pm came as a total shock. I don’t know how the officers got it all wrong because the instruction was that police won’t be out until 10-10:30pm when all citizens should have gotten to their various homes. This is totally against what we stand for.”

The governor further stated that he has reported the incident to the highest level of the military hierarchy and a judicial panel will be set up to investigate it.

“The army does not report to me. I have reported the matter to the highest command in the military. It’s not something we are going to gloss over. A judicial panel will be set up to investigate it. I have escalated it to the highest level of the military,” he added.

He, therefore, called on leaders at all level to speak up and put an end to the protests.

Mr Governor is speaking in circles....
Let me ask
What were the soldiers doing there with real guns and real bullets and trucks meant for war? Were they supposed to shoot at goats? He should explain that the next time he speaks in circles...

    6. First he denied the knowledge of soldiers been there. I knew he sent them because he had been lamenting for days now of how much money they lost from toll gate because of the on going protests. Now that he has murdered and shed blood are they making money from the toll gate or na? If the soldiers are wrong like he said can he at least prosecute them one by one to show he's sorry?

  16. I listened to him in TV today he said the CCTV was not removed that it is up nobody can touch it,it was the camera that use to capture the plate no cars that was removed, he also said the security light was removed because of the curfew, he said the public can have access to the CCTV to know what happened on that day.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yeah I watched it. He said it’s the one that controls the tags in the vehicles they removed. The one that picks the sensors on the car stickers to allow passage. If that is the case, they need to review the main cameras then and let us know what happened.
As much as the military do not report to him directly, he must have know they would be there that day, so directly or indirectly he is responsible for what went down that day.

Now my question is this, if they say there is curfew, why are they allowing these ones going about freely to roam the streets and vandalise people’s shops and all? Why use force on the harmless protesters on the day the curfew started and refuse to restrain these ones looting anyhow?

      Delete
    2. They would have doctored those videos seriously by now joor.

      Delete
    3. Shyla.. God bless you. Please let us ask him o... why are soldiers not out preventing looting but they all went straight to innocents protesters holding the flag and shot at them. God punish all of them. Our mumu don do. Who f**king gave the order is the question? Tell us cowards

      Delete
    4. Thank you..They saw people destroying things in broad daylight, they couldn't stop them but went straight to where people were paying allegiance to the Nigerian state through the national anthem albeit a protest ground and shot them!
This govt doesn't like anything peaceful!

  17. Stella. One question. Do you honestly believe that the soldiers that came out are actually soldiers from the military? Do you not think someone can disguise? I have said this from the beginning of this protest. There is more to this. Plus a protest without a set of leaders was bound to escalate to events beyond control. Everyone is to be blamed including you, me, the media, govt, celebrities. Everyone. Lets not be deceived. It could be real soldiers or fake. But I refuse to believe they are real. Also Sanwo Olu warned lagosians to go home. He probably got a tip off. But we did not listen. It's sad. Let's not put blame again pls. Let this just die down and let's have matured guys to be in the panel of investigation and compensation.
