Labour Room Drama 295

Oh dear!!!!

Hi Stella..

My labour room journey is one I won't forget in a hurry.Pregnancy was hitch free, no spitting, vomiting or the likes. Fast forward to the day before my cutie arrived.. Labour usually comes exactly one week after EDD, full term pregnancy.

Labour started on a Thursday around 10:00 pm. The contraction was mild and bearable.. Before the end of night devotion, the contraction increased with severe pain..Got to pee and behold, I saw my show (blood)..

Told hubby that I was in active labour.took a very hot water bath cos I heard it helps..By 5:00am, we were already at the hospital. On getting to hospital, the pain went on another level..I could barely stand erect. Mind you, it was my first pregnancy..

The nurse on duty didn't help matter, she checked me and said I was far gone..After an hour or so, I called on the nurse who was nonchalant to come check on me that I feel the baby pushing her way through..she said if baby dey come, I no go fit talk..lo and behold, my girl found her way out before I could push..The nurse now ran to help me but it was already late as my punani was already lacerated or should I say turn apart..Some nurses are witches in angels clothing..

It was obvious she is not even skilled at what she does.. After my baby was cleaned up, she handed over to the nurse on morning shift..How I wish she was the one that took my delivery..

I went through hell when they tried to suture the already torn punani..I was given anaesthesia, but the pain was mad..It was nothing compared to the labour pain..Another nurse had to assist her by holding my legs to enable her do the punani sewing properly..For 2 weeks , I had no joy as I was in severe pain, could barely sit or walk..

Even after I healed, I couldn't use bike popularly called okada, for fear of my punani ripping apart like a zip on a tight skirt..

I eventually overcame the fear and trauma.. Will share the second labour room drama soon.

Congratulations babe..

Some nurses had additional degree in wickedness. At one time, I asked a nurse friend of mine if they do a 2 unit course on wickedness in school. She was just laughing.

  4. Well, I have never met an unprofessional nurse. There are some hospitals the nurses are well trained n they dont talk to patients anyhow, always at your disposal once u press ur bedside alarm and ever ready to do your bidding or advice you accordingly.

    2. Madam koinkoin, the answer to the wickedness is in your comment.
Many hospitals have nurses who are overworked and underpaid.
