Rapper Falz Opens Up To CNN's Christiane Amanpour On The State Corruption In Nigeria,Says He Is Not Afraid To Die

Rapper and social crusader, Folarin Falana popularly known as Falz, while answering questions from Christiane Amanpour on CNN has stated that he is not afraid of dying.

.

The singer who has been vocal on issues bordering on social injustice across the country especially the recent #EndSARS protest told the journalist that Nigeria has a non-existent healthcare system due to the level of corruption in the nation.
.
He said, “I am not afraid for my life because where we are right now, I feel like I can easily die by anything else anyway. I do not know where to start because we have a non-existent healthcare system for example. We have a seriously high level of poverty; there is unemployment.

We are in a critical state because of the level of corruption and mismanagement of funds that we continue to see on a daily basis. If I do not come out to complain about the state of things, I can have an accident on my way to work and die as a result of that because the state of the healthcare is nothing to write home about.
.

“We do not even have proper hospitals because they are not well equipped. People have to travel abroad to have proper healthcare. We keep on saying that every single Nigerian is one sickness away from passing away. So what kind of life am I living any way? Why should I be afraid of dying? I am going to die anyway so what is the point.”

    5. Love me so Falz baby, he really spoke well and super proud of him, However his points at the beginning were very strong but weak at the end when he said what we need is “ end Sars “, we lost the only opportunity to let the world know what actually we really want. He should have told Amanpour straight up that we need a total overhaul of the government. The other guy who was interviewed by bbc tried to make it known that reform is really what we need.
I told my friend last week that the narrative shouldn’t be “end SARS “. , let’s assume to end it for real today so what next? That’s it? Or we go write another placard again giving demand? This is the the time to change the writings on our placards to end bad governance, Buhari resign, government shutdown you name it, just carrying our placards with “end SARS is very weak”, even the holy books demands that we ar specific when asking, hit the nail on the head. This is the reason they claim we said we want SARS disbanded and they did yet we still protesting, in their defense we don’t want SARS so they changed it to SWAT, Ordinaryly a foreigner wouldn’t know it’s the same organization under a new name. But if we hit the nail on the head then we will get a stronger backing from the international parliaments because trust me they know Nigeria government is band.
PLEASE THIS IS JUST MY OPINION

    10. @12.45.... thank you. I made this same point on a group I belong to last weekend and they almost took my head off. The protest i.m o was lost once it was tagged 'endsars'. Protests should run automatically based on a tag that captures the ideology behind it. It's already a list cause, especially now that, expectedly, there are now political elements tagged to it. It's sad and crazy

  6. I didn’t watch, but sir STFU, respectfully. You left people at toll gate. Why were you not there. We have a people problem in Nigeria. Inferiority complex, begging foreigners to speak. Did Beyoncé beg you guys to speak during the BLM protest. I officially dislike Nigeria and its people. Poorly educated etc. the hoodlums blocked the roads in the name of protest. Protest should be strategic. With a plan, they was no structure.

As for the soldiers and hoodlums that killed innocent people and attacked businesses respectively, may you reap what you sow. Nigeria is just a mess, it’s sad how we think

I have a lot to type, but I’m just exhausted. Stay safe people, let’s develop ourselves, create opportunities and help each other become better.

If we are better people, Nigeria will be better.

Anyone with negative things to say to me, back to sender.. lol

That same tuesday,he made a video by noon and told everyone to fall back and let's continue after the curfew.

    2. Oh do shut up! Falz told everyone to fall back and wait til after the curfew before coming out again. Throughout this process, he has stressed following the law to its letter! He has always engaged from an enlightened legal standpoint! So please, before you spew nonsense, do take a step back and think properly. *kmt*

    5. This 11:24 is one of our people outside the country, that would call you on phone and say something like "Nigeria na dead country, una dey suffer for there o!" Like they themselves ain't Nigerians. I listened to falz a learned lawyer and he spoke articulately, more than what the president said. They had to subtitle buhari's speak. Oh falz is hungry for food or Fame right?
He has all of that and he still wants a better Nigeria for the youths.

    6. I equally have a lot to type to you but I’m exhausted as well, but take this home dear; there is no right way to protest, because that’s what a protest is. It won’t be considered right by everyone no matter how you do it whether strategically or not. Do you really understand what systemic racism is? When you realize that there are some people whose voice goes out a lot more than yours, maybe you’d understand why we needed others to hear us to speak on our behalf especially considering the fact that we have no president.
Create better opportunities you say? How many have you created if you are truly sincere. It’s easier said than done right? How do you create opportunities when the government dnt recognize the ones being created. Havnt you been seeing inventions graduates invent online, creating solar power this and that. How many have the government sponsored through?
No no, how many have a privileged or wealthy man sponsored? All they do is create charity homes but still lots of homeless people on the road. They do this charity to develop funds and names for themselves for UN to recognize. Not you.
Moving on, Was the toll gate the only place where people protested till after curfew? Why weren’t other places visited same way? How did you think people would hav gotten back to their homes before 4pm for a curfew imposed by 1 or 12pm? Why didn’t they go into the streets and shoot everyone who violated the curfew?
You officially dislike Nigerians you say yet you want US to make each other better, does that include you too? So after saying you dislike us you still want to be a part of us is that it? Didn’t you see how we helped each other during the protest? Didn’t you see the unity? Didn’t you see the care? Didn’t you see how people cried when people died. I cried. Did you? Or were you busy disliking us for being stupid for listening to a common celebrity? Who told you it wasn’t going to be bloody? Who told you lives weren’t going to be lost? People knew. Even those that died may have known too. But they were prepared that’s why they stayed there. Don’t blame anyone. Especially those who died.
The country failed them, not falz.
If you were confident with what you wrote up there you need not fear negative comments. Dont be a coward, it’s Friday for God’s sake.
      lol.

    1. It is during this protest I heard his true English speaking tone with out the Yoruba tone to it, I will say, this is the first time I see him serious.
Meaning, even those times he claimed to be serious and speak good English but with the Yoruba tone, he's still not serious.
I always say he has used the Yoruba to spoil his English, not know he was disguising even when he's claiming serious.

I saw him delve into his profession this week and I believe something again, wherever we do, it's no mistake. God has plans for us no matter what we want for ourselves.
I have new admiration and respect for him as he shone in his profession.
May God keep him any protect him and DJ Switch.

No one will die and this administration won't conquer us.

May God comfort those who lost loved ones and guide the dead Home to rest.
      Amen

Asin...you can not have put it in a better way.
Like I have not seen that serious side of him before and he does know his onions.
May God bless him and is music is great too, all pushing the message.

  11. Good job Bro! See eh, wisdom is better than mighty men of war.

Strategy is the key to winning any battle. Youths, let's strategize.

If Falz had stayed at the toll gate that night and he was shot dead, he wouldn't have had the opportunity to engage in this interview now.

Dear Youths, it's time to go back to the drawing board and re-strategize.

He who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day.

My fallen brothers, you are our heroes and remain in our hearts.

Buhari and his cohorts, it's not over. Watch your back, we are right there!
