Rapper Falz Posts An Update On Progress Made So Far With EndSARS Protests...

Popular Nigerian singer, Folarin Falana (aka Falz) has updated his instagram followers on the progress made with the EndSARS protests.

In the caption of the post,he wrote:

“Many people don’t understand the need for the state panels being set up. I think it’s a step towards achieving number 2 & 3 on our #5for5 and towards getting Justice for everyone that has been wronged!”

He posted a video saying the presidency had said that all states should set up a panel of inquiry that would lead to prosecuting officers found guilty.

Falz advised that youths in every state select a representative to be at the panel to monitor things.

He said that the panel is to make them all have a sit down and listen to victims of police brutality who would share their stories with evidences. The singer said that the evidences would be collected and the offending officers would be prosecuted by the attorney general of the state if it is a criminal offence.

He said that when a police officer shoots, it would be treated as murder and when they beat people to stupor it should be termed as torture and when they take people to ATMs to forcefully withdraw money at gun point it should be termed as armed robbery.

He said that these offences are in the jurisdiction of state offences and the attorney general of the state can prosecute. He also warned people not to listen to their governors if they give excuses for not prosecuting such crimes.

    1. Okay. We don't need to let the goodwill that has been acquired through the protests to wane. The protests must have concrete terms and it must be followed.. you can't muddle everything together: Endsars today, EndNass tomorrow, EndBuhari and so on. It must be one step at a time. All I see people do is shout in the streets. Not many dey follow the progress.

Achieving the 5for5 is a progress. Then other times, we wait for another provocation, then we troop to the streets and protest. From there, we push another line.

  3. It's no longer endsars. It's now end bad govt, end all the evil politicians, end buhari . The masses are suffering. There's too much poverty in the land. Nigerian are blessed with oil but all our past leaders shared all the oil wells among themselves leaving the millions of people to starve to deaths daily. Enough is enough. We've had enough. To add insult to injury the useless president went on Intl TV to call us lazy Nigerian youths. We've woken up from our slumber. You guys have taken our gentility for stupidity. We would show you guys power belongs to the people. This is full blown revolution. We shall keep protesting until all our demands are met or we kukuma dissolve this union called Nigeria.

  8. I suggest that every sitting of the panels should be aired. No secret meetings.

  9. Weldone Falz, you too much, but the issue of bad governance should be included, where Nigeria is rated the poverty headquarters of the world is unacceptable. Our politicians should hide their faces in shame.

  10. I hope the protests don't become a revolution cos it could be very bloody and we are not prepared for that. Protesters are unarmed and thus should remain peaceful. Nigeria is a democracy but not democratic. The young need to get into power and strategically change the country. At some point the protests will need 'leaders' and strategies if not, it wouldn't be purposeful.
