US Officials Meet With Nigeria's VP Osinbajo Over Unrest In Nigeria And Make Demands..

United States Government officials met Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday at the state house in Abuja over the unrest in Nigeria .....

The delegation was led by Ulrich Brechbuhl, Counselor of the U.S. Department of State.

It included Assistant Secretary for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor, Bob Destro, and Assistant Secretary for Conflict and Stabilization Operations, Denise Natali.

Brechbuhl conveyed the regards of the Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Pompeo had issued a statement on the situation in Nigeria.

“Secretary Pompeo asked us to come as friends and partners of Nigeria to examine the drivers of insecurity across the country and to better understand conflict mitigation efforts already underway so that we can explore ways to enhance our cooperation,” Brechbuhl said.

The Counselor acknowledged that his visit came during a tumultuous time for Nigeria.

Brechbuhl stressed that America is deeply concerned by recent violence.

He reiterated U.S. condemnation of the use of excessive force by the military on unarmed protestors at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos on Tuesday.

The official offered his deepest condolences to the victims of the shootings.

Brechbuhl demanded that those responsible be held accountable under the law.

He stated the right to peaceful assembly and freedom of expression are essential human rights and core democratic principles.

  1. Amazing US quickly sent their representatives to protect their interests in Nigeria. I hope they threatened Nigeria and not just make demands since that's the only language Buhari understands. They should freeze their accounts overseas and seize their properties and hit them where it hurts.

  9. US officials met Osibanjo? Why the VP? Where is the P? What the fuck are these people not telling us? Why should such a dead brain be leading us? When they need someone with brain to deliberate with oyibo, they will drag out this short man. My people, the struggle isn't over. It is just starting. This man must go. We can't sit down and watch him Shepherd us into Golgotha.

    3. They may have stopped the protests physically, by using force and using thugs. But my dear youths they cannot stop the protests in our minds. We must go back to the drawing board and think of a way that we will be liberated. It is not over until it is over. At least they know now they are not leading Mumus. We must not loose focus. What we really need is unity, preparation and in time our dreams will come to fruition. It is normal to be disillusioned at this time, but we will not give up........
Let us also become politically aware and participate positively.

  12. The army says the videos were photoshopped

Government is silent on the Lekki shootings

The army denied the shootings happened in their Instagram account and is asking for who authorized the shootings

These smart alec's are passing the buck to the state

They gave the order and are trying to make it look like it was Sanwo or Bourdillon

Only the CinC would give that order

Bourdillon was smart enough to run he knew their actions would turn his people against him and end his 2023 ambition

    Good thing he ran

Seyi don Japa with him immediate family too

Unfortunately, Tinubu GREEDILY played into their hands and led his people to their waterloo.
One man's UNBRIDLED QUEST FOR POWER has jeopardised the safety and future of his people.
