FITNESS TALK WITH SAPIO:

ARE YOU OVERWEIGHT? KNOW YOUR BMI!!

Are you overweight? There isnt any better way to determine this other than by calculating your BMI (Body Mass Index). BMI is a measuring tool which takes into account a person’s weight and height to gauge total body fat in adults. Someone with a BMI of 26 to 27 is about 20 percent overweight, which is generally believed to carry moderate health risks. A BMI of 30 and higher is considered obese. The higher the BMI, the greater the risk of developing additional health problems.

The formula for calculating BMI is weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared. If height has been measured in centimeters, divide it by 100 to convert this to meters. Thus
weight (kg) / height (m^2)

where kg is a person's weight in kilograms and m^2 is their height in metres squared.
For example: Your weight = 68 kg / Your height = 1.65 m (165 cm)
BMI Calculation: 68 ÷ 1.652 = 24.98

When using English measurements, pounds should be divided by inches squared. This should then be multiplied by 703 to convert from lbs/inches2 to kg/m2. Thus
703 x weight (lbs) / [height (in)]2
For example, when calculating the BMI for weight of 154lbs and 71 inches;
154lb ÷ 71in = 2.16955
2.169 ÷ 71 = 0.030
0.03055 × 703 = 21.48

A healthy weight is considered to be a BMI of 24 or less. A BMI of 25 to 29.9 is considered overweight. A BMI of 30 and above is considered obese. Individuals who fall into the BMI range of 25 to 34.9, and have a waist size of over 40 inches for men and 35 inches for women, are considered to be at especially high risk for health problems.

Being overweight/ obese exposes one to a myriad of health challenges such as heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, gallstones, breathing problems, and certain cancers. Having hypertension, low HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol), high LDL (bad cholesterol), high blood sugar, family history of heart disease, etc in addition to being overweight/obese increases one's chances of coming down with the aforementioned conditions.

Note that individuals with heavy muscle mass (body builders) can have a high BMI, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they are overweight or obese. The BMI is high simply because their muscle mass translates to a higher weight in kilos/lbs.

I am sorry that this write-up might scare you, but its necessary that we understand the risks involved, so as to turn a new leaf. From my next post, we would focus on how we can achieve a healthy weight and lead the best possible lives. Have a great day!!

Hmmmm whats all the maths for?na wah oh...
Thanks honey for this......

If I greet you and you answer somehow, I'd sit for hours trying to figure what I did wrong. I'm currently battling the false opinion others have of me. 19. Even though this issue might seems overflogged, but please pardon me because I don't still get it.

    Why will a young man date a lady for 9 good years, she was living with you oh, cooking and cleaning and, so she did abortions for you because " you were not ready to settle down because you are still trying to build your business".

    Now after the business "stood", you now decided to settle down, but NOT with this lady, but another one, because your people said she is not from your state. But you are both from the same region. 😰😞

    Chei..... I was just looking at my former neighbour with his new wife and baby over the weekend, wondering.... Why????

    5. Men will embarrass you. Human beings are extremely wicked and very very selfish! She should cry as much as she can and pick up herself bit by bit. She'll be fine in the long run.

      The man will somehow pay for his wickedness.

      For those saying why date that long, I doubt you have ever truly fallen in love before. Nobody plans that shit. You keep believing and praying because of the love in your heart till you wake up one-day and your youth is gone.

      Unfortunately men date with their head no matter how much in love he is with you. If he notices you are no longer looking like you were when the journey started, he'll bounce. They are heartless like that; because he believes he'll crawl back to you when it gets tough with new woman

      How to treat their fuck up is success! E no easy, but try! And make sure you level up in terms of next guy

  22. Good Morning Ma'am.
    I Am So HAPPY THIS MORNING. I discovered something that will benefit a lot of women with heavy flow(without underlying medical conditions). Kindly help me post on your wall.

    When my menstrual flow changed two years ago, I thought I had fibroid because of the heavy and excessive blood flow! After doing some research about fibroid, I discovered that I didn't have the symptoms... But why the sudden change in menstrual flow??? I bore the pain of not being able to do anything meaningful or go anywhere during the heavy flow which lasts for two days.
    One day, my mother was having cough and spitting mucus, I wasn't happy, so I made ginger tea for her, she took it once(a cup) and stopped but the cough and spitting reduced drastically. I didn't want to throw away the remaining drink in the flask so I add two bags of Lipton Tea and a clove of garlic and boil again. Incidentally, my menstrual flow started that day, I took one cup of the tea in the morning and another in the night before going to bed.
    This is the interesting thing: When I took the tea in the morning, I didn't experience the 'normal' heavy flow during the day and I was busy with house chores, I kept checking to know whether it's time to change but it was not full. When I was done with my chores, I went to have my bath and noticed it was full, it was in the evening. I changed my towel( I have stopped using sanitary pads), took my tea before I slept. I am usually awoken at least twice at night to change my towel, the weight and sogginess won't allow me sleep so I had to change at least twice before daybreak. But this night, I slept throughout and at morning I checked it was full but didn't stain my bed sheet, I was surprised. I had my bath and changed, I took a cup of my tea. I couldn't attend service because it was day 2 and the flow will be heavy(so I assumed from my previous experience). I noticed the towel was not full when I went to change, I was shocked and worried! What's going on??? My menstrual flow has changed, it is no longer heavy! I hope all is well... By evening when I went to have my bath, I noticed that the towel was not full. I took my tea last thing in the night before I slept. The next morning, being day 3, I noticed that the flow was regular, not the usual heavy flow. The towel was barely half filled. I took my bath, changed and took my tea, first thing in the morning... I think the tea is a contributory factor to regulating and normalizing my menstrual flow! I am back to using regular pad. I AM FREE!!!

    My tea recipe:
    1.) 2 bags of Lipton Tea;
    2.) 1 large ginger root(chopped in pieces);
    3.) 1 clove of garlic(chopped in pieces);
    4.) 1 litre of water.
    I boiled 1, 2 and 3 in 4, stored in a flask and drank a cup morning and evening throughout my period.

    I googled 'ginger and heavy menstrual flow' and discovered the connection between taking tea made with spices like ginger, garlic, turmeric, cinnamon, bamboo leaves, thyme, etc and regulation of heavy menstrual flow.

    BROKENNESS

    Some believers keep wondering why they don't feel intimate with GODπŸ€”πŸ€”.....I mean they're literally doing all they know; attending Church programs, revival crusades,are church workers etc and yet they just can't seem to be on a one-on-one friendly basis with GOD.

    The bible tells us that David was a man after GOD's heartπŸ€”...Do you really know what that means?... have you taken your time to really study the prayers of the man called David?...His were the prayers of a broken man!!.... This man was totally unashamed before GOD.....a man who could openly tell GOD search my heart!!!....I know there might be evil in it,but still.... search my heart!! And in the event of finding any evil(masturbation,lust,lies,jealousy,anger etc)...Lead me in the way enternal πŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ.

    Most believers spend their time engaging in every other thing else aside being broken before GODπŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯

    No matter how Spiritual you make look,the post you occupy,number of revivals meetings you are present in and even usher invited guest speakers,if you are not GENUINELY BROKEN before GOD with a willingness to want to change.....you can't be a man after GOD's heart!!!

  56. Awwwwwnnn... How I wish I can send these bunch of plantain looking at me to Ma'am Stella. Very big, fresh and still green! We have a lot of plantain and banana trees all around us. They hardly die even if you cut them to the root. And they can spread like weed. Just plant one, by the time you harvest it and it starts to bloom again, it will bring out shoot for another set of banana or plantain.

    God is Great indeed!

    I want proofs of the jokes we shared
    Engrave the lines into my face like
    The roots of a tree that grew deeper
    With each passing year
    I want sunspots as souvenirs
    For the beaches we laid on
    I want to look like
    I was never afraid to let the world take me by the hand
    and show me what it's made of
    I want to leave this place
    Knowing I did something with my body
    Other than trying to make it look perfect'
