DeleteWhy ain't we growing onions in the south? Balyesa alone can feed the whole of sub Saharan Africa with rice, but no rice farms in that state. Edo have 3 rice belts but the useless governor is doing nothing to help. Almost all the local rice we eat today is from the north. Growing up in Benin city we had our local breeds of cow, l haven't seen any for years. The then Midwest / Bendel state use to have a cow ranch in Ubiaja, today nothing to show for it. We use grow beans in the South but today almost all the beans we eat is from the north. There were farm settlements in the west and Bendel. Now that bandits are disrupting farming activities and collecting taxes from farmers before allowing them to plant and before harvesting food is going to be very expensive. We have a long way to go

I bought 10 for 500.00. Medium size though. I was expecting less from the alarm people were blowing on it. I sha have used 8 out of it to make a pot of soup and stew join. E remain two. I cannot because it’s expensive my food no get sweet.

But you can store it,the ones I bought in Feb/March I used till July, I started buying again by September.

ReplyDeletei use a mix of onion powdwer. sometimes for frying eggs, boiling small meats etc i just use the powder. cooking without onions is a no no for me.
