Officer Representing Army At Lagos EndSARS Judicial Panel Promoted To Major-General

Ibrahim Taiwo, the officer representing the Nigerian army at the panel the Lagos state government set up to probe the Lekki shooting has been promoted from brigadier-general to a major-general.

Following the protest to end police brutality, the Lagos government set up the panel to look into allegations of rights abuses by the police special anti-robbery squad (SARS).

But the shooting of protesters at Lekki on October 20,2020 has been on the forefront at the panel, and Taiwo, commander of the army 81 division intelligence brigade, has been the one making a defence for the soldiers’ action.

  1. Of course, promotion for a "Lekki Job" well done!

    1. Let's not forget that promotion in the force is not same as in corporate world where people are singled out and promoted for outstanding performance. In the force you are promoted with your mates when the time is due. Hardly is anyone left behind. So his promotion is not because of his part in endsars saga.

    4. Not in all cases Anon, haven't you seen people who were not promoted with their coursemate because of one thing or the other....since the man in question is been accused of a crime like this, his promotion should be on hold pending when his name is cleared, that is how things are done.Shame on the Nigerian army, you have traded your integrity for money and power

Are you telling us that if he shot another soldier and is facing an orderly room trial,
he will be promoted "when his mates are?" 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

    1. Major General is 2 star na, abi you Wan dash am CHIEF already? it's season of sorrow and joy in the military now for the officers. His promotion has nothing to do with lekki shootings. Buratai is still better than his 2 counterparts in terms of promotion. God bless the Nigerian military
