Actress Angela Okorie Says She Is Scared Of Remarrying And Gives Advice On The Kind Of Man To Marry....

Actress and singer, Angela Okorie, says she does not intend to get married again.

In an instagram Live session with her fans, the mother of one said....

“ I’ m so scared about marriage right now because I have once tasted it and I know what it feels like . I do not want to get myself into any marriage , then get divorced again.
Nobody plans to get married and divorce their spouse but issues happen ― lies and things one is not ready for . Nobody would want to leave a peaceful marriage but once it is not peaceful, one wouldn ’t want to stay there. I wouldn’t advise anyone to be in an abusive marriage or a marriage that is not helping one ’s mental status .”

She says her first marriage was not abusive.
“ The man I got married to was not a bad man. He was a very nice guy with a good heart . But, he had his own problems that he needed to fix . It is not only about being nice ; there are many things that come with marriage.
One just has to marry one ’s best friend ; somebody one could tell everything . I don’t know how to hide things and I would not want to get married to a man I wouldn’t be able to talk to; or a man that would criticise my dressing . He should understand that I am a celebrity and that the person he is married to is outspoken.

The best decision is for anybody to get married to a spouse who loves one, one's kid , one's job , and is always praying for one to get to the next level . Some people could be very possessive . They could tell you their family is a royal one and because of that, they limit the types of role you could play in movies.

You cannot marry a career woman and keep her in the house . If you want to get married to someone, you should love what they do and invest in it. If you invest in your spouse and show them a lot of love, I don’ t think any woman would cheat on such a man, except the stupid ones. I never cheated on my man though I meet different men and they ask me out every time .”

  2. Getting married is a good thing but sometimes people are not ready to pay the price that comes with it. It takes two to tangle..... and lots of understanding from both parties.

  4. Marriage is all about compromise. No one should stick to their guns, everyone must understand and sacrifice something. If this is not understood, that marriage might be doomed.

    Angela, you are beautiful

    2. I tell you! This was why I broke up with my ex. The moment I noticed he always wanted everything to happen only how it pleased him and I lost interest. In such a situation where you do not believe in compromise, you kindly marry yourself. There was never a middle ground when we talked about future plans. It was just what he wanted 100% or nothing. I didn't know when I told him to go and start looking for someone else because I was done. I feel sorry for his wife. He doesn't compromise at allllll. Even in friendships you have to make healthy compromises, let alone relationships.

Sorry to read that your marriage hasn't turned out right. Please do know that not all marriages are like that.
It's "your marriage." Jesus gave me a beautiful marriage and yes, we both work it out based on his teachings.
Study his teachings and find peace for your soul and marriage.

  10. But should a married woman kiss in a movie and cuddle so passionately to an extent of acting a role where she's having sex? How will the husband feel? Yes I understand a man should invest and support his wife but again a woman should know what is bad and know where to draw the line.

Some of these married female artist hide under acting to do despicable things. It takes only strong men to stay with such women. If marriages of celebrities often crash this much, then one wonders what could always be wrong with the people involve.

    1. This is where career and trust comes in. I’m a doctor who has more of male colleagues, also a urologist. So because of marriage I should not talk sexuality and exam my patients blokos? Or should I quit because I’m in a male dominated field?

    2. Let them keep deceiving themselves. On Judgement Day they shd go say they were acting.

    3. I totally agree. Though acting is make belief but there are certain roles you should decline as a married woman. Mercy Johnson, Chioma Akpotha and a few others do not accept just any role.

    4. Anon, the scenario you painted is different here. Do you touch the male blokos for entertainment or for fun?

    5. Thanks Ms Abrodian. You got my point. I love how Mercy Johnson drew the line as soon as she got married. There are things you should quit or adjust after marriage. No man should be happy seeing a young guy pressing his wife breast on screen or even exchanging saliva with her in the name of kissing. Married women ought to decline some certain roles in movie if truly they don't want their partner to feel bad.

    6. I believe you do not even have to be married to refuse some roles. Kissing and all those romantic displays in movies aren't necessary, if you ask me. You do not have to do all that before I know the roles the casts are interpreting. Look at Bollywood. Back in the days there was nothing like what is happening now( over -the -top romantic display of affection) and we enjoyed every bit of the films we watched. The women too were respected and getting married wasn't difficult and being an actress did not carry a bad tag.

What is it about a married woman being excused from some roles? After all a single lady also has commitments.

  11. Beautiful Angela! Marriage is not bed of roses and it takes two to tangle to make it work. There is no perfect marriage, ground must be shifted both sides to make it work.

  15. Angela your husband endured a lot. You were married and was still clubbing and messing around. The guy really tried tolerating your nonsense hoping you would change, but you never did. He got tired of being taunted by friends and family members. Who does not know your story?
A lot of women want to be married and still hoe around.

  16. If you want to stay in marriage you first have to understand your husband is the head of the house accord him respect. Approach him with different tune if you he is not heeding to what you want. You can't force him. Don't say things like I must wear this and do this. Talk to him in a low tune. Also know you have to compromise you decision don't be too heady or you will be going home o.
