Comedian Akpororo Sends Lagos Gov Sanwo Olu A Memo After He Cancelled His Show Over COVID 19 Directive

Awwwwww......

''To my Governor, I celebrate you, nothing do you.

I'm making this video not to fight or disrespect anybody but please sir this stuff you put yesterday with immediate effect, sometimes you'll consider people that have spent money for some things. My show was supposed to hold today, I had done things spent money and now you put an end to it because of covid19.

Nobody dey follow you drag, I have obeyed I have shut down my show, I have cancelled it. But let me say this, try to put people into consideration give them time to plan their selves like two days interval.
Reason these things , how would you shut down Lagos, while the president is opening borders.

I have shut down my show that I spent money on, this is the second time this is happening. This is what I use to feed my family. I have no other work. If I meet you, you won't give me money.

We are just hustling. God bless you Sir''

*Mr comedian if you had been following the News both locally and Internationally, you would have known that a lockdown was approaching.....May next year be good for you.

  1. I will say again our government are best at being heartless and very wicked. I am not against a lockdown, but what positive steps have been taken to cushion the effects on the masses? Absolutely nothing!!!
And you expect people to take you seriously?
If I were Akpororo, that show would have held, and nothing will happen.
    Rubbish and Sanwo-Olu 👎🙅

    2. I agree. In the US the government gave money to individuals ($1200), and more to families with children. Also gave to businesses including airlines, airbnb, hotels, churches etc.. just so they can pay their workers and not feel the effects of the lockdown. All these are done to reduce crime. Cos when people don't have income or food, crime rate will go high and comes at a great cost. So the cost of sharing money or giving out palliatives diligently is lower than the cost of fighting crime. And the annoying thing is our govt can afford it but wickedness and greed wouldn't let them think. Nigeria, learn. Stop carrying last!!

    6. NIB the annual budget of your country is $28 billion dollars. South African budget is $120 billion dollars and not a single dime was given to South African citizens. The US you are comparing your country with budgets close to $2 trillion dollars every year. Think

    4. Anyone that has been following the covid trajectory especially the spike in deaths and cases all over the world should know better..Him wey Dey organize show gan is not safe from covid so if he doesn’t care about others, doesn’t he care about he and his family ?

    5. Or do it remotely. Who would plan a show right for the second wave of the pandemic? It's a comedy show of all things, not putting down what he does for a living but it is not a life or death event. They are even canceling elective surgeries in hospitals to ensure enough beds are available for ppl who get sick with Covid. If a hospital can put off surgeries why couldn't he put off his comedy show?

Sorry you lost money, but at least you will not have the guilt that your show was a super spreader event, or people died because they showed up to see you. Every cloud has a silver lining.

  8. Stella, I totally disagree with you.

Even abroad, the decision to lockdown was never done over night or within 24 hrs.

You need to give people time to plan albeit short. You just don't lockdown overnight or within 24 hours.

Government should always carry it's citizens along. Covid cases didn't rise over night in Lagos so shutting down abruptly doesn't make sense at all. The moment you observed your figures were rising, you can announce there will be a lockdown in a week or 2.

    1. Have you read anything about Tier 4 rules in the UK that's comes into effect groom midnight? The only difference is that in the UK the government helps self employed people etc
Nigeria is a failed country, stupid and selfish leaders.
I wouldn't blame these guys for putting up shows, that's their means of making money. They have family nah, school fees to pay etc

    2. Yes anon, you are right, some places have moved from tier 3 to 4 based on the increasing numbers of infection. My problem with Nigeria is that we are never transparent. They will do follow follow to lock down abruptly without considering the fact that the dynamics in developed countries is different from theirs.

A government that hides Indomie, rice etc, mstchew.

  9. Didn’t he see the handwriting on the wall?
Numbers going up exponentially and he still hoped he could have a show.
Bros, find other ways to feed your family for now because if to say that show hold Covid for spread very wide and your name will be used as negative example for a long time.

  10. give them time to plan 'their selves' ✖️ ....*themselves*✔️

Akpororo, you made some valid points.
It's obvious the government isn't in touch with the reality of the Nigerian/Lagosian on the street.

I won't sit in my Ivory tower and applaud the way the shutdown of certain businesses in anticipation of second wave of Covid-19 was done. Not everyone has the privilege of unhindered income or provision.

Most Nigerians live from their day to day earnings. They have little ones and aged parents to cater for.
What has Lagos Government and Federal Government put in place as Social Welfare and palliatives besides hoarding freely donated food items in warehouses? 😑

It was supposed to be in an enclosed auditorium right?

It's a massive loss for him but going ahead with the show means massive spread too.

  13. How can you be preaching physical distancing, second wave of covid yet be enforcing massive NIN enrollment at this time? (Copied) This guys lack....

    1. Linking NIN to Sims is done in the comfort of our homes. Millions already did theirs. I guess you are not even registered, government asked Nigerians to register since 2011, people like you failed to register, you thought this country is your personal property. Only 43 million people registered in ten years. You people like emergencies.

    2. Alexander, I am sorry to say, but you are out of touch with the reality of the Nigerian situation. I read your comments and I think you must be benefiting from the ineptitude of the Lagos State government. I reside in a country where Covid is raging like fire, I came into Nigeria recently and I must say I doubt if Lagos is actually dealing with any pandemic. In the US, at least in the state I live, you have notice of the lockdown in advance for you to make adequate preparations, there are social welfare programs to buffer the adverse impact of the lockdown or job losses.. Despite the second wave and the rising numbers in the State I live, the Governor did not declare another lockdown. It is detrimental to the economy and people's livelihoods. It makes absolutely no sense when there are alternatives to containing the virus to completely shut down the economy. Incase you don't know, people are suffering immensely in Lagos, I am privileged to have all my needs met but I am also humble enough to realize that the woman selling rice by the road down the street will have nothing to eat if the government shuts down the economy again.
So, please have some empathy. I am tempted to think the #s reported are inflated but I would give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it is true. Nevertheless, the Nigerian government loves to complicate the lives of Nigerians and make their life difficult. It almost feels like you have to ask yourself, if it is a sin to be born here. One day liberation will come, Nigerians are human and need to be treated better by this insensitive government especially in Lagos state.
