I got pregnant a year after marriage, I was highly expectant. I was strong and agile all through and no one knew till the 5th - 6th month, no sickness.
I was gathering information mainly from this segment, it really helped during and on the main day.
I passed my due date by a week, went to clinic, I was sent to a doctor, he performed membrane swap, gave me a week to come back to be induced if there was no sign.
A week passed, no show, I went back, just me, met the same gynaecologist, he looked through my file and said ''Madame are you ready'' I answered yes, He checked again before the process, I was 3cm gone, without any sign.
He asked if I came with my bag, I had to call hubby to bring it, i was transferred to the ward, hubby came with my bag.
We walked a long distance, he left for work and we didn't tell anyone, by 4pm during shift change, I was checked again and i was 5cm dilated, the new doctor said by next morning i should be ready, hubby called and asked if he should come and I said he should come the next day because it was during the lockdown curfew, we had no means of transportation and it was a govt hospital and had no space.
By 8pm I had moved to 6cm, by 10pm I was moved to labor room ( Friday hallelujah challenge) we (2) were told to chill till morning so I joined the challenge and danced like I was to be paid, by 5am I had progressed 8cm , i was given drip and the drama started.
I didn't shout but only breathed hard (according to what I had read, shouting will not ease the pain) I went with the flow but the pain was back to back, i was given a little tear, by the time I was to push I gathered my strength by holding a nurse and pushed, baby came forth, the pain disappeared.
I was stitched and the nurses had to get things from my bag themselves as i was alone...,After all the cleaning I called hubby ,he almost jumped out of his skin.I was discharged same day.
Fortunately for me baby came on my birthday, he waited extra 2 weeks to be mums birthday mate.I have no choice now than to be celebrating my birthday with my son..
Thanks to God.
I can't wait for another journey again.
God bless all women trusting for such experience.
Shalom.
