    3. Yes o. Being a parent is not a guarantee for "returns on investment". That you gave birth to someone does not make you automatically entitled to their success.

I am a mother and I know this because it was my choice to have children. So as I provide for them, I don't forget myself in the process. I will love to raise my children to be independent and free of having me as a burden. Whatever I do for them is out of pure love and not an investment I am hoping to harvest in the future. I owe my children till the day I die. They owe me NOTHING!

    5. If I bought a car for my parents before mine, they would have rejected it! Even when I eventually bought for them, I had to prove to my dad that that expenses wasn't going to drown me. I had to sit him down and opened my laptop for him to see certain details he collected the key and prayed for me.

I believe that is how it should be.

  7. Naija men do not joke with their mothers, at least most of them.

  8. He's right because some men live like what my people call, 'osaka'. They'd be spending lavishly on girlfriend/wife while their mother goes through some unimaginable pains, streets and lack. But a real man knows exactly how to balance everything in a way that there'd never be a room for any sort of unhealthy comparison. Treat mama perfectly nice and equally treat wify perfectly nice, balanced equation.

    1. Exactly, balance is key, take care of your mum and wife and watch God bless you.

Some parents do not need a car e.g my dad. He actually sold off his car, his sight is not good, his driver was ripping him off plus the only place he goes to is church.
We just send a car to pick him up when he goes to church/ hospital appointments.

    2. πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ. Very beautiful decision by you and your siblings. The imbecilic driver can now go and be ripping his own father off. Strength and more life to your Dad.

  9. So my woman will connect me to get good job, then I'd go and buy car for my mother first.... who does that?

    ReplyDelete

    1. If she is a good woman, she will understand.
The only thing that will make you want to hurry and *settle" her for the connection is if you plan on disappointing her. You will then decide to be spending on her just perhaps you break up with her,so your conscience dosent disturb you.

      Delete
    2. Anon, what of your mum that carried you in the womb, nurtured you till you became an adult, the fact that your woman connected you to the job doesn't negate all your mum's sacrifices.

    3. Y’all don’t understand marriage sha.If your mom is not a witch, she cant be mad that you got your wife a car.your wife becomes number 1 the moment you get married to her.

      Delete
  10. With all the sacrifices my mum has done/still doing for me,I can't joke with her. All I pray for is life, good health and breakthrough

    1. She didnt do you a favour. It wasn't your choice to be born. You are her responsibility. "if she doesn't sacrifice, who will". It was her choice to bring you into this world because she found becoming a mother a joyful thing.

It's wonderful that you CHOOSE not to joke with her. That is Love.

      Delete
    2. Saphire abeg rest. If you like nor give your mama anything as per say na she choose to born you. Rest and let us appreciate our parents. We owe them

      Delete
    3. At saphire, you reason just like my mum. Those are her exact words. She'll say na she drag us come this world so it's her responsibility to provide all what we need. That's why I don't joke with her matter too. She doesn't see us as hers but rather as God's properties given to her to care for

    4. @ Sapphire, your own mother ooo Ahh, this one don pass be careful. Smh

  11. In all l do, my mum and sisters are very important, so is my wife. I don't joke with anything that concerns my mum. Those who worship their girlfriends / spouse at the expense of their mothers may have their reasons. We all have different values and were raised under different environmental influences

  12. So as u are beating ur wife to a pulp hope it’s the same way u are beating ur mother. I’m sure in ur mind na o my wife go chop that one. Useless man. It’s to come here and talk rubbish.

    1. Mrs Duncan na you be dis? Kpele oo. E nor easy to dey chop beatings o

    2. lol i find this very childish. someone defends or says something that is not a general opinion and you say so so and so welcome oh...so it is only mrs duncan that finds what he said funny? so his own wife is not a mother to another person abi? or he thinks his children will be happy seeing their own mother being beaten?

      Delete
  13. Mother should come first. Except you are legally married to your woman, if not your mom should be favoured before your gf

    ReplyDelete
  14. Any man that believes that he is cursed or doing the wrong thing if he buys a car for his wife instead of his mom is not ready and doesn’t understand marriage.Once you are married your spouse and kids are your priority, every other person is secondary.I’m not saying don’t take care of your mom o but as a man,if you can only afford to buy one car,I will buy for my wife first and i love my mom to death.

    ReplyDelete
  15. a man that doesn't even know what marriage is all about. beat your wife but love your mother

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think it time for us to put a very big STOP to dis shallow thinking of ours....I honestly don't see anything wrong in getting a car for your wife be4 your mother....dat dose not mean you don't love her nau....Ahbaa!...I mean if you have enough you can get it for both of dem at d same time...Let's not also forget dat once you are married you own family comes first!.....Not dat you would abandon you mother or extended family....but you should know dat you owe it to your own family.....and honestly dis guy is not making sense here....dis comparison between wife and mother should STOP!....The both of them are very much special and important...My point though😏😏

    1. Gbam! No need for unnecessary comparison between wife and mother at all, they both play different roles in the life of a man.
