Nigerian Celebs ,Their Forgotten Claims To Fame And Competitive Attitude On The Social Media

Most Nigerian celebs on the social media seem to have forgotten their claims to fame and have turned the social media into a battlefield of unhealthy competition.....

What is even more worrisome is the competition to outdo each other..The current one is that everyone is buying cars and showing off..It is a good thing but,it looks like unhealthy competition, especially as we all know the acting Jobs do not really pay much at the moment.....(blame it on Corona and other stuff) and others become pressured to post show off posts as well....

Yes,its all show off posts...The houses,the cars,the shoes,blah blah blah...

I like the Endorsement deals though......

Most actors do not even remember that their claim to fame is acting and on their social media handles, all they do is model clothes and shoes all day....They also model other stuff but if you have not watched their movies, you would not know that this person acts for a living....

These days when i check up on them,i always have to check their pages to see if they officially changed day jobs......

The Competition, and the emergency models here and choking and boring .....Everyone is doing the same thing and trying to outdo the other ........

If you an actor, face your acting

If you are a singer, face your singing...

If you are a................

Am i the only one that noticed this trend?

Did i make sense up there? If you like you can say I am jealous or even call it bad belle for making this post.....That's what one is accused of when you hit the nail on the head or try to discuss an issue that touches on some peoples G-spot....LOL

  1. Anywhere belle face, if you’re an actor and modeling clothes is bringing in income, why the hell not? Do whatever you want as long as it’s legit and honest work.

But all these show off and competition, trying to outdo your colleagues? It’s really not necessary lol but wetin concern me? Like ang would say, vanities!

    1. Especially the Akwa ibom actress back then Ini Edo, she only takes photos and posts now. Well I think hers is mid life crisis or Depression stemming from needing validation that she still looks okay. I pity a whole lot of them in Nigeria, it is hard doing the same thing over the years and couldn't break the cross over to Hollywood because that is the dream of most actors just like Lupita Nyongp did, it gives you a new lease of life and you keep acting in your continent if the opportunity trumps up like lupita went to act Queen of Katwe. Every actor wants to cross over just like we all want to get promoted at work. She just posts and posts photos all day. This also shows, we have few quality actors back in Nigeria.

  4. May be it's not show off. There's a way things will happen in your life, you'll have no other option but to shout out for people to hear. Some are just marveled.
We react to things differently, I sure know that I won't post a thing but I will be glad for next person who decides to.

  5. The show off is tacky and unnecessary.
It's good to call a spade a spade.

If you bought car or house or travelled to Jupiter on private jet, don't shove it in people's faces.

2020 should have taught us a thing or two.. Life consists of so much more than these material things.

  7. "Power Is Nothing Without Control." - Pirelli

It's quite a pity what people let control them.
Some Nigerians are out of control especially with vanities and frivolities.

  8. I think the modeling part is okay cause brands pay for thier space because of the audience the have.
The cars and the rest, everyone to thier own

And yes, those modeling bring in money oo.
My friend with 2k followers charges 5k per advert.
So, imagine what someone with 1million and so on will charge. Dont hate. Join the game

  10. Stella, you make so much sense, the shade here and there, the unhealthy competition and rivalry, the unnecessary show off is really a turn off. I dont have any issue with the modelling jobs and all because of the recent economic downturn, man must eat. This is really common among the yoruba actresses. Maami, you have spoken well

  11. Celebrity life is fake it till you make it, excessive show off and all. Showing off clothes, shoes, bags, cars and houses rather than tangible investments. People who truely have it all don't show off

    1. Kyle Jenner has it all but still shows off. It's not about having it all, it's about having a poverty mentality. It doesn't matter how much money you have, if you still have a poverty mentality , low self esteem (like Kyle Jenner) and you only feel validated by people's approval and fickle admiration then you will act like them no matter how much money you have.

  12. Stella, it is not even bad to have one or two jobs added to their main hustle, it is the show off that pisses me off. Making others that do legit jobs to feel as if they are not trying at all.

  14. Stella they are trying to diversify, since acting no longer pays. Competition is also good if it is healthy.

  15. But many people have been singing the have a side hustle anthem. Well, if modelling is what they choose as theirs no qualms. After all, we have wrestlers turned actors, actors turned entrepreneurs and so on.
