How can someone who knows not what they do be baptized before they even grow to know what life is all about?
I am not getting this baptizing of an innocent sinless soul that would probably grow up to be in sin.
Baptism is for everyone who wants to be saved. There is no age limit. Acts of the Apostles 3 and 16. It's a promise to all. And as early as Apostolic times whole households including children were baptised. The most important thing is that baptism replaces circumcision which was an entry rite into the family of God in the old covenant. Now both male and female are baptised into Christ the new covenant rite into the family of God.
DeleteAs per being old enough. There's age limit. The Bible or the early church did not mention any age infact Jesus asked that children be allowed to come to him for such as these the kingdom of God belongs to. Children are not innocent spiritually they like everyone was born with original sin this the need for baptism which washes away that sin, makes that child a part of the kingdom, a Christian and an heir of even. Unless a man is born of water and holy spirit he cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. Children are not exempted.
Lastly it is logical that when you give birth to a child, you don't wait to give your name or your best to that child. You don't wait till the child is old enough to choose if he will join your family or go to school or become a Christian. You train a child the way he should go and when he grows, he will not depart from it. That is responsible Christian parenting.
