Do you think swearing an Oath to prove a point is cool?
Swearing an oath to prove you love someone or swearing an oath to prove loyalty are both so wrong but people still do it everyday....Some women are only allowed to go their corporate Jobs because they have sworn an oath with their spouses that they would die if another person touches them.
A man who has been abroad for 10 years will return to visit his wife and insist she swears that no man has crossed her laps or the Marriage is over.....
What do you think about Oath swearing?
I think it is a spiritual bondage that should not be attempted because all those i knew from way back who swore different types of Oaths are not doing well at all and when they go for church deliverances, they are always told to come back with the person they took the oath with but some cannot locate these persons anymore....
Lets discuss this thing and may someone reading this and considering swearing an oath to prove love or loyalty will think twice!
Yesterday's couch convo was very interesting. However I think most people mistook deep for wide. The deeper the better and skinny girls have A* in that department. Its not wide like a well but it has depth and can take in monstrous things.
ReplyDeleteI honestly almost did this shyt. We Don bring razor bring Bible ,the boy mumu played along , what made me stop,I don't know
DeleteBlood oat is very deadly especially wen both go there Sperate ways without dissolving whatever.
Some women roaming the streets mad na igba ndu cause am.
God abeg
No is not. If someone doesn't trust your Yes or No answer. Then there's a problem
ReplyDeleteOath taking is totally wrong and dangerous. I have not seen anyone who confessed it was the best thing that happened to them instead its one problem from the other. God help all those who are still bind by any form of oath.
ReplyDelete"Just let your word ‘Yes’ mean yes, your ‘No,’ no, for what goes beyond these is from the wicked one" - Jesus
ReplyDelete"Stop swearing, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath. But let your “Yes” mean yes and your “No,” no" - Jesus
You're right, Stella. It's a spiritual bondage.
ReplyDeleteCandy dear,I'm better now...thanks for checking up.Good to have you back.please do take care of yourself.
DeleteOath is a NO for me.
Personally, do not swear and don't like it. Worst part is those that swear easily even with their wombs, lives, jobs, children's lives, parents lives, health, do not believe in the efficacy of it. Yet....
ReplyDeleteOnce you swear to anything in our discussion to prove a point or to be believed, an alert is set off in my head immediately that you're lying.
Let your yes be your yes and no, a no. It changes nothing. I don't like swearing, simple.
I almost took an oath with my first boyfriend because i was young, naive and thought i was inlove. Lol
ReplyDeleteBut his elder sister walked in on us and gave him the beating of his Life and also advised me.
God Bless you S for saving a Soul..
Swear an Oath Now? Omooh, OYO for you oh. you either take my word for it or gerrarahea!
Ain't gat time to prove shit to any1.
These are the things Jesus taught on the Sermon on the Mount. But those who are "wiser than the only wise God" decide to disobey it and launch themselves into an eternal Satanic bondage. Let's see...
ReplyDeleteMathew 5:33“Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill to the Lord the vows you have made.’ 34But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; 35or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. 36And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. 37All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.
You see? What are the things beyond "Yes or No?" Of course, "seal it with your BLOOD, HAIRS, ILLICIT SEX, SEMEN, ETC.
The Scripture says in Romans 6:13, you shall not submit any part of your body as instrument of wickedness.
Once you submit to taking oaths with any parts of you, anything from your body (which is God's temple), you have submitted yourself to the evil one as a Slave. But he whom Jesus sets free is free indeed. 😚😚😚
It is wrong to swear an oath with your blood. The life of any creature is in the blood. That is like giving your life to Satan.
ReplyDeleteTo go back to the partner isn't a solution. Going back to God is the solution.
Not cool at alll. I CAN NEVER EVER DO THIS.forget that children blood oat thing
ReplyDeleteA big NO to oath taking either in relationship or marriage. The bond involved is usually never broken, except by the grace of God, even in death.A couple I know did it when they were young and foolish, they got married but alas, their happiness was short lived when the man died suddenly in an accident, leaving the woman with 2 kids.Being young, she wanted to remarry but the man's spirit(familiar spirit)that was strengthened by the blood covenant didn't allow her rest,at a point, she started running mad, hallucinating, harming herself and seeing all sorts of evil things, the family spent a lot on treatment and possible solutions,no way,she eventually died. This happened in early 2000,so anytime i hear about blood covenant,It gives me goosebumps and a sour taste in my mouth.
ReplyDeletewhat a sick joke.. you are abroad for 10 years and you ask me to take an oat? a man that would have even been doing his own thing? if you cant trust me when i say i have not so be it. and to think that most of these kind or swearing happen in front of deities. God forbid, make marriage kuku scatter...what rubbish
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing wrong in swearing an oath, it’s a covenant between you and your maker, it’s also to make the other party rest assured of your loyalty and honesty. God loves covenant keeping people, I for one am ready to swear one if it’s what will make my partner rest assured of my loyalty and honesty. It’s only lying, thieving, manipulative people that will have something against oath or making a covenant, when their ways are never pure, why won’t they have something against oath and covenants
ReplyDeleteOne thing I can say is do not do it. Even if you are not guilty of the accusations. Never ends well.
ReplyDeleteThat was how my ex wanted us to take oath that I will never leave him. 18 year old me no gree o. Las las, we just drifted apart. We didn't break up officially though. If to say I gree for the oath I for don run mad.
ReplyDeleteExactly my story but I was 16
DeleteIt is all shades of wrong. Love that does not have trust is not Love at all.
ReplyDeleteI began to run away from it and advise people against it. That was after I read the book
"Sin in the House -a revelation of the the blood covenants" which I bought from amazon.
People who do it toy with their lives and eternity.☠💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
MY MUM'S COUSIN WAS MADE TO SWEAR AN OATH, IF HE WAS GUILTY HE WAS TO DIE AFTER ONE YEAR, BUT IN THIS CASE HE LIVED FOR OVE 35YRS, COS HIS HANDS WERE CLEAN. HE WAS WRONGLY ACCUSED.
ReplyDeleteAs a Christian it is very wrong to do that.
ReplyDeleteThis oath taking is a kind of mind bondage. I have taken it with two different men at different times of dating in my early twenties. We are all married to different people now, I only see them on IG n FB posting loved up pics with wives kids and in different continents. I am not in Nigeria either and a medical personnel, my life in early 50s is fabulous with kids done with varsity. We broke up and as usual, moved on with life. Maybe its because neither of us swore before a diety, lol.
ReplyDeleteI remembera guy I dated for only a day , told me I have to take oath to prove I love him . That's how I block boda I dont have time for bondage
ReplyDeleteOne of my deacons in church once narrated to me how he took an oath years ago as a bachelor; that any day he sleeps with any lady apart from his wife (when he gets married), that God should take his life. He said he was naked in his room as he took that oath.
