Labour Room Drama 306

She saved a life and then gave birth to a life thereafter......

Hmmmmm Jeweluchi, Let me start with this....

He’s done so much for me, I cannot tell it all.
Nara ekele moooo.
What can I render, to jehovah, for he has done so very much for me..... Nara ekele moooo.

I decide to send in my LRB just in case someone finds herself in this situation. There is nothing greater than God. He already had plans in place and I never knew. Things finally became clearer after the delivery of our son.

Hubs was the one that let me know that I was pregnant. Asked me if I had seen my period, I said no but was feeling the menstrual signs of heavy boobs and cramps. He said ok! Some couple of weeks later, Madam howfar with your menses (I don’t know why he refers to it like that, I feel it’s archaic ). I replied nothing ooo, I will get some PT strips on my way back from work today. That is how yours truly saw 2 lines. I was like, naaaaa, not possible, I’m not supposed to be pregnant till in 6 months time.

So you see, I’m an organ donor and part of the rules FOR ME was, no pregnancy till at least one year from the operation reason being that the body needs to adjust. Jewelu Nne, na so I take enter the journey like 8months from the operation date. I was scared. Hubs was scared. He begged, cajoled, tried to bribe me out of it reason being he was scared sheet. I told him God will not disappoint us. Nothing will happen to either of us. We are already a testimony.

I registered in a maternity clinic. Gave the doc my medical history. It was as if God ordered my steps to that clinic. Nne, I did a lot of research on female organ donors and pregnancy. My heart cut when I read up what to expect, to be honest. But I brushed it aside and handed us to God. Yours truly never experienced any of the listed symptoms, except for normal pregnancy nausea and pelvic pains, I was good all through antenatal. Didn’t gain weight either.

Delivery day, out of the blues, my bp rose.
Doc; Madame what’s going on! What are you scared of!
Me: the operation
Doc: Ah, but you went for organ donation which is a major operation compared to this. You told me you weren’t scared.
Me: hmmmm, Only God can tell.
Doc: what are we going to do because you can’t go in with hbp.
Me: God will do it again.

People of SDK Ville, He did it o. I was put in for elective CS because of my medical status. 6:30am, nurses (2) came to the room to clean me up and later took me upstairs to the OR. I was scared honestly but I tried my best to be calm with songs of praise (Hillsong ministers to me well in time of crisis). I lay on the table, humming to myself. Gynecologist was teasing me in his own way to calm my nerves and to an extent, it worked.

Anesthesiologist administered injection into my spinal cord (that shiii was painful I still feel slight pain in my lower back) then was instructed to lay down. She started tapping my leg to know when it has kicked in. I begged them to make me sleep but they refused, citing some things. Gynecologist started slicing (he was nice enough to cut me from the area where the major operation was previously done) he asked if I could feel it, I said yes, a tingle. He sliced the second time, I screamed.

He stopped. He asked that I should be injected with sleeping medication. That is how yours truly slept off until I heard my name and a baby crying. I was wondering who could be so cruel to allow such an innocent sweet being to cry. Omo, I just heard my name again accompanied with, your baby is hungry, please wake up and feed him. Oh Lawwwd, I was still drowsy but I struggled to wake, smiling, I carried my bundle of awesomeness . He was and is still cute for days (in Rhods voice).

I didn’t want the father around because he has more drama than myself. Momsie was with me all through. She did her best tho (age is catching up) and the nurses helped a little. They all seemed to be fond of my son so there was someone always carrying him
so teeey I begin de jealoux say them no let me hold him.

Till tomorrow, I’m glad I took the risk(a big one) and thanks to God, I’m perfectly ok so is Baby A but he can eat 🤣. I’m happy I have played a role in saving and giving life. If I have the opportunity to do it again, I will.

If I have ten thousand tongues,
it still won’t be enough,

Nara ekele moooo

Thank you Jewelu Nnem.
Keep up the great werk .

Yours truly signing out,
TWE
