  8. Please dear bvs, kindly suggest good movies I can watch on Netflix, movies based on romanc or career (finance)

Have you guys watched; I care alot, it's based on career though not so legal, but that movie makes me know that it takes a lot to build a successful company.

What about"Nappily Ever After", gosh Violet's doctor bf is hot that I had to look him up on Google 😉. It's a romance movie.

Kindly suggest movies, based on romance and career (preferable finance).

  15. If you like comedies Thunder Force with Melissa McCartney and Octavia Spencer. Funny and nice. Stowaway it's also good. Mortal Kombat is ok storyline wise but if you like Martial Arts then it's good. The Courier With Benedict Cumberbatch, Concrete Cowboys with Idris Elba and You Belong To Me...don't remember the actors.

New series alert Shadow and Bone. Downloaded but haven't watched yet but the reviews are good. Also, black comedy series: Dad Stop Embarrassing Me with Jamie Foxx...boring for me but someone else might like it.

I don't know where I can find the movie Stardust. Old and very funny movie...last time I watched it was on DSTV. Same thing with Dark Shadows another old goody.

    1. Amethyst, if you have Netflix, HELP me and watch "Rake". I recommend it because it's a law series, an Australian law comedy.
It's funny and brilliant, I SWEAR!
I kept begging my younger bro who is also a lawyer to watch but he was hesitant. Now he's hooked!
The main character is a coke sniffing, ho-loving, booze drinking asshole but he's a badass lawyer. He never loses.

    2. I actually saw it but didn't watch plus the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes was quite high. Will go and watch it then.

      Thanks Nwanne 🙂

    3. Dark shadows I love, Johnny depp is one of my favourites.
Watched murder at the orient express again today and wished it never ended. My only issue with the movie is Johnny being dead as I feel robbed of the opportunity to see him do his thing 😩😩. Amazing actor

  16. The last movie I saw was 'The Master'. Every other person (in my circle) who has seen the movie say it's boring and uninteresting but I think it's one of the greatest movie I've seen in my entire life. The truth is I downloaded the film because I saw Philip Seymour Hoffman on the cast ( I simply adore the man, God rest his soul). But I got more than I bargained for. Joaquin Phoenix won my heart with his very outstanding performance. I laid awake at night replaying his scenes. What fascintes me in a movie is not really the plot but the actors' performance.

It tells the story of a troubled war veteran( Joaquin Phoenix), who escaped lynching after a man collapsed shortly after drinking his homemade ale.
He wounds up on a boat and found solace in a religious movement called 'The Cause'. The leader of the group (Seymour) accepts him with open arms and insists he has met him in the past but can't remember where.
He travelled with the group, occasionally making ale for the leader, fighting for him sometimes and spreading his message. But his demons kept overtaking him...

Make una read up the rest or better still watch the movie. If you don't like the movie, don't beat me o.
But it may interestyou to know that that year, Seymour and Phoenix won The Academy Award for Best supporting actor and Best Actor respectively. Amy Adams was also in the film and she won Best supporting actress.

    3. @ commenter castle Windsor..yep, the movie Master is a stunning excellent movie. Joaquin Phoenix is one of the greatest actors of all times. I adore him. Philip Seymour was a true great. I feel so sad he ended his life so tragically so painful.

  17. Also forgot to add The Marksman with Liam Neeson.

Can't this guy just act comedy or something. Ever since Taken, if he is not defending a stranger, he is avenging his family and most times dies in the end.

  19. The Serpent is a recent good series on Netflix. It's a must watch biko! Based on true life. A con artist that drugs, robs and eventually murders his victims is so good at his antics until he was caught. My biggest lesson in the story? A man can never change his true colors for anyone unless remade by his creator. His lover loved him and hoped she'd get the opportunity to settle with him as a family but lost it all... she eventually died of ovarian cancer 😔. This happened in the early 70's. Thr series is a thriller filled with so much suspense, crime, substance, betrayal, and disappointment... go watch it and thank me later✌

    3. Yay!!! My fav series so far, I am counting down and can't wait. The thought of the new season makes me happy. I remember feeling so sad when I saw the last episode, I was literarily saving that one episode because I didn't want it to end. I didn't even know the new season is around the corner until my daughter happily informed me. My kids knew how glued I was to that thing.
