Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, Dies Aged 99 Years...

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and husband to Queen Elizabeth II, has died at the age of 99 years..

Buckingham Palace confirmed the death of the prince on Friday. “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

“His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle. Further announcements will be made in due course. The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss.”

The Prince was in ill health before his death, having been admitted to hospital days after not feeling well in February. His last public appearance was in July 2020 when he transferred his ceremonial role as colonel-in-chief of The Rifles to his daughter-in-law Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

The Prince was born in Greece to Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark and Princess Alice of Battenberg, but his family was later exiled from the country when he was an infant. After being educated in France and Germany, Prince Philip joined the British Royal Navy in 1939. Before marrying Queen Elizabeth in 1947, he abandoned his Greek and Danish royal titles, becoming a naturalized British subject, and was created Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Merioneth and Baron Greenwich before the wedding in Westminster Abbey.

The Prince was a patron of several organizations focused on the environment, sports and education. His first solo engagement as Duke of Edinburgh was presenting prizes at the boxing finals of the London Federation of Boys’ Clubs at the Royal Albert Hall. He also authored several books on horsemanship and the environment.

He retired from his royal duties in August 2017 at age 96.

He is survived by his four children, Charles, Prince of Wales; Prince Andrew, Duke of York; Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex; and Anne, Princess Royal.

    3. Maybe leave Madame Markle alone and focus on your own life so that it begins to ‘sparkle’? What say you? Cos I got to tell you obsessing over someone that doesn’t know you exist isn’t going to help your personal shine.

  4. Welp, RIP to him. He had a very long run.

On the other hand, I’m just thinking about how awkward the funeral might be with the whole Royal family drama. Wonder if H&M would even be there.

    1. I really pray Prince Harry, Meghan and Archie are at the funeral. If they’ve had the new baby, then they should all go... this might be time for them to heal the family rifts.
But knowing people they will just want to see everyone’s reaction to them

    2. Meghan is in her third trimester, plus they've recently had a miscarriage. She probably won't be cleared to fly, what with COVID and all. And if I were her, I wouldn't come even if I could. Why should I worry myself to come to a country of people who clearly don't like me according to their polls? If she comes, they'll say she's looking for attention. If she doesn't too, wahala. She might as well just stay back and rest in her third trimester

    Good morning y'all.
So I had a not so pleasant dream. The thing is I have been following the royal family religiously, especially Prince Philip. In my dream, the Duke of Edinburgh was demanding to see me. *Malaria symptoms innit?*šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ Anyhoo, I went to see him and he was so happy. I sang him a lullaby and that lulled him to an eternal sleep. Oh dear..!šŸ˜©šŸ˜©šŸ˜© The kind of things I dream about eh..

Oh dear..! May his soul rest in perfect peace.❤️❤️

    7. If they didn't exile his family from Greece, that wouldn't have happened!

Marrying Elizabeth and conforming to certain rules/adjustments was the next best thing that brought him honour that wouldn't have reached him till death.
