Another asked

''Dear Stella,
I know your blog is widely read hence my email to you.

Kindly help me use your platform to ask fellow blog Bvs if they know of any good hospital in Benin City where I can carry out a fibroid and cyst removal surgery successfully. I am so scared due to the recent news of deaths from fibroid surgery complications.

I am willing to go to Lagos for the surgery too if need be.
Please is there any way I will know when you post this on the blog?
Thank you''

    1. 100k for human hair importation. Please focus on increasing your capital for now.

    2. I don't think 100k will be enough

      Delete
    3. I think u should try to increase ur capital otherwise you will end up getting low quality hairs u might not be able to sell.or better still you can look for a good hair vendor here and dropship for now till u have a little more added to ur capital.

    1. You are probably reacting to it. Try Ladycare, Molped or any other good brand.

    2. Try another pad to see if the burning sensation will occur.

    3. I agree with anonymous 14: 18 Molped is very good and that is what I use...Also pat that area dry after bathing and use powder to dry your underparts...I hope it helps..

  7. My son only manages to eat pap. So I add ground crayfish to the pap and his formula. To at least make it richer. Someone was saying I should wash pumpkin leaves and use the water to make the pap... Idk cos I don't want any pcv/low iron issues in this life abeg. I'm freaking out cos his pcv once dropped to 22%. It's 30% now sha

I'll really appreciate good suggestions. Thanks

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Ugu is a very good source of iron. If you use it continuously you'll get good results. But when the PCV is high enough, you might want to discontinue the ugu treatment to avoid iron overload.

    2. Deworm him.
Buy age specific milk if you can afford.
Try feeding him one egg per day, fried or boiled as he prefers.

      Delete
    3. You can do meat/fish and Ugu/Spinach vegetable puree to increase his iron levels

      Delete
    4. If he's a sickle cell carrier, go see a paediatrician for best diet and medication. Don't take chances

      Delete
    5. Try supplementing with iron supplement then. Speak with a doctor.

      Delete
    6. Cook sweet potatoes under low heat, with just a little g.oil. Then mash an egg yolk into it before adding his formula. It should have a nice creamy texture. You can also try scrambled eggs, ground beef and mix together with plain macaroni, then let him feed himself with his hands(just ensure they are clean, you can even encourage him by eating with him). Invest in a good blender, for chicken, red meat and liver. Boiled and mashed ripe plantain. Add a little home made soy milk to his pap . Pls, once he's up to a year or more, switch to full cream milk, not skimmed. Have you tried okro soup with agidi? If he likes it, then you are in luck, just blend liver and meat or chicken into it. Give him small portions of food and try to feed him more than three times a day. Pls no need for Maggi and sugar in his meals if he's under one. Having a picky child isn't easy, but he will be fine. Pls get him supplements, I used "well kid". It was pricy but worth it. Feroglobin is ok too. Get him a lovely and colourful plate for eating. Then lastly, take him for a malaria test, malaria kills blood cells

      Delete
    7. Fidel I forgot to add that you shouldn't feed him the mashed liver more than 3x a week. Liver raises pcv levels dramatically and is very rich in vitamin A, so, it shouldn't be any everyday meal.

      Delete
    8. Always consult a doctor on health issues. If u want to add ugu or crayfish to the meals pls heat first. Raw food can bring on worms.

      Delete
    9. Thanks guys ❤️
Anon... I want to kiss your feet. Thank you. Definitely screenshoting this

      Delete
    10. Pls ensure you use milk for his specific age If hes below 3 years. Use Cerelac also. Its rich in iron, iodine and vitamins. Blending so many feeds together in the bid to enrich his diet may also have diverse effects, so I suggest you do this with caution. Eggs, chicken fish beef contain iron and protein that the body can use readily.

    ReplyDelete

    1. For a baby ? I think it's better you cut it

      Delete
    2. Cut the hair

      Delete
    3. How old is your baby? Don’t apply lice treatment on 0 - 10 months babies and please don’t cut it. Rather apply conditioner on wet hair and comb through. Do it multiple times for a week.

      Delete
    4. You don't need to cut it, my babies once had it. Wash the hair with mild hot water, shampoo and Dettol disinfectant.

Towel dry after wash, when dry, Part into tiny sections as if you want to make weaving in her hair. Apply CACATIN hair cream on on the parted portions. Pack it together in a bun and tie with a scarf🧣 or cover with a cap. Remove after two hours and comb out. You'll see the dead lice on the floor. Repeat every 2 days till it clears out. Don't forget to wash scarf, cap , pillow cases and sheets after use to avoid coming back.

That is what we do in Nigeria.

    7. 4 months is ok, though most start at 6months. If you want to give her mashed potatoes and other homemade food, then make it very light for easy digestion. Mashed potatoes and egg yolk with her formula is good. Pap and mashed avocados are also good. There are also cereals in supermarkets for 4 month old babies. I didn't start my kids on agidi and soup, mashed meats and macaroni till they were 6months. Whatever you choose to give her, pls observe her stool, that's the easiest way of knowing if any food is good/bad for your baby.

      Delete
    8. Thank you all. Let me verify which of these options are for 4 months.

pls must I change my surname after marriage. hubby didn't mind initially but now he is acting like I deliberately don't want to change my surname. thing is all my certs from bears my dads name. I have 2 prof certifications and 2 masters and registered company name with it so I don't know how I will just discard the name. how can I navigate through this?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Go to court get an affidavit with your marriage certificate.
      Then newspaper publication. That all

      Delete
    2. You can do a change of name, and a one and the same person affidavit. The change of name would state that all other documents on your maiden name remain valid. You must not change your name actually, you know your hubby better. You can dig your feet in and ride out the storm if your mind go gree you. Otherwise, change your surname sis, it doesn't invalidate you in anyway.

      Delete
    3. Madam live your names like that. Add his name on social media and any other thing that need be.
Professional and work level, continue with your name. The stress of changing names credential wise is not easy.

      Delete
    4. Be wise.
You can change it if it's a bother to him.

That's why the change of name always comes with "All former documents remain valid"

It doesn't affect whatever documents you have done before marrying him.

AT the end of each year, I will plan and make a list of office and church dresses to start the new year with but ends up not buying them till the end of that year again. Is this a disease or stinginess? I admire ladies who dresses well but find's it difficult to dress myself up always having the imagination of me in those good dresses but wont shop for them but will end up helping people with the money especially my family members or just prefer saving for the future and raining days. I need help

    5. Anonymous 15: 17 Awww I understand you and I think it comes in a place of fear of lack of basic needs and wants. What I will advice is when saving, there must be a purpose why you are saving money..Its good to save but don't do it to detriment of your own needs...Clothing is the basic need of every human after Air, Food and Shelter...You are doing great by doing END OF THE YEAR STOCK taking; you have to discipline yourself and stick to that list..Maybe the clothes you have are sufficient for you or you just merely admire clothes on others and when sometime comes up, you just move on to other things....

Just learn to place priorities on what you need and go for it...

    9. Anon 15:17...This is one of the reasons my colleague left his ex wife, she works hard year to year and then shares all her money to her siblings only to start from square one the next year. He said she didn't know how to package herself, from clothes, to hair, to underwear, she always looked haggard yet she earns well. I tried to ask him if he tried to help her but that discussion always dampens his mood so I stopped asking but reflected on it a bit.

Are you sure those people you give are not jazzing you? If we can rule out the spiritual angle, then you need to work on yourself cos you have a "saviour" or a "matyr" complex,. The Bible says a laborer is worthy of his wages, the good part is that you have identified it is a problem, you plan your finances, that's good, keep the largest portion for investment, plan the rest with a portion for your wardrobe and any other aspect you wish to upgrade.

You can employ the services of a personal shopper (one you can trust) to help you buy and match good quality outfits that will fit your body type and make you look good for both formal, semi formal and casual outfits. Nice hair that fits you, good shoes etc. Trust me you will feel a lot better and look better when you are always well packaged. All the best.

    1. Identify the field you want to specialize in and start working on it asper getting certifications. I know someone that read Economics and was working as a PA to one big man in a big company. She realized that this her work experience so far won't really be sustainable as that PA thing doesn't exist in every company and her opportunities will be limited.

She did an MSC in Human Resource Management and also did CIPMN, then found a way to get transferred to HR dept from the PA position (it's always easier to swap departments in your existing organization as any new place will want you to have experience in the dept you are applying for). She has been working in HR since then and she is in the third organization now. Just make a move to acquire a certification in the field you want to build your career.

Meanwhile, why not change career path? Try taking courses in HR . Data analytics is a good area that pays well if you know what you’re doing. Don’t be afraid of it, you can do it.

On the issue of the original death certificate, my uncle who is my late mum's brother took the certificate from my brother with the hope selling one of my late mum's property but up till this very moment, we haven't heard from that my uncle and his number isn't reachable either . It's getting to 4 years now and infact he is outside the country as my late mum was also based outside the country. So let's say i'm doing all these for my kid brother to have access to the money which isn't up to 200k, as my brother still has the photocopy of her death certificate.

  31. Those in the UK, how's life over there? I am in health care and got a band 6 job offer with certificate of sponsorship. I want to relocate with my kids. Will I be able to cope with two kids because I hear discouraging things about taxation, is it too cold? I need to make up my mind fast. I need encouragement. Will I enjoy living in England?

    1. Those are valid questions, ignore that anon.

Yes taxation is high but if you live outside London, your living costs will be lower. Read up online on Income tax bands to get an idea of how much net income you will have after tax. Look on rightmove or zoopla to have an idea of rent prices for the area you will be in.

    3. Well your concerns are not out of place, but trust me when I say that if you survived in Nigeria, you will survive there. You may not earn as high as you would in Canada or USA but there are perks like free healthcare and free school for your kids. Also, consider that the environment is safer and there are more opportunities for growth than in Nigeria. You have what most people want right now, don't misuse this opportunity. I will be relocating soon with my family too. Also talk to God about it.

    1. You mustn't rob a bank to look good. Just know how to combine your wears appropriately. Looking good has to do with how neat your hair is, how stylish your wears are and how great your foot wears are. So in summary, your hair, clothes and shoes must be in check. Then every other thing is a bonus eg jewelries, makeup etc

    2. Employ the services of an online shopper, tell her the style you have in mind and let her shop for you considering your body type. After a while, you will be more savvy in choosing outfits to buy. be careful so she doesn't start inflating prices unduly.

    3. Darlin' get a personal stylist immediately!!!

What's the point eating like a whale and looking shabby and unimportant???

I love styling myself (hair/clothing/accessories) and I have a personal code for each outfit. Anything under 8 I discard or I try to upgrade till it reaches a 9 and half.

Imagine when you step into a place and people have to stop to complement you on your outfits, day in day out?
      Yes, that's the effect.

You must know how to combine everything to make a statement.

Your youth is for looking utterly fab, don't waste it!!!❤

  37. Hi, pls my husband and I are interested in relocating abroad, we are looking at Canada or Australia. He has a distant cousin in canada n I also have a distant relative in canada but we have no one in Australia. We have 2kids and a relative living with us presently. We would like to travel with her also as her parents are late. Hubby dropped out of school due to some personal reasons n I have a HND cert. Do we stand a chance of relocating with our very little educational degree? though we plan on going back to school once we settle in. And how much money will cover visas, flight tickets, rent n feeding at least for a few months till we get a job.

    1. Shea butter. It's advisable to apply as night cream so that it doesn't darken your skin when you go in the sun.

    2. My opinion coconut oil.

    3. Both are good but personally I use shea butter(palmer's) for my skin and coconut for my hair. I am light skinned and I began my natural hair journey in 2018. No more perms and loving it.
