Pastor Kumuyi Says He Will Return The Tithes And Offerings Of Sinners In His Church

Pastor Williams Kumuyi, the founder of the Deeper Christian Life Bible Ministry, has disclosed why he would return the tithes and offering of some members of his church.

Kumuyi said he would return the tithes and offerings of any of his member who is still living in sin.

He stated this while addressing his members at the church’s headquarters in Lagos, on the topic of holiness.

Kumuyi stressed that sinners who have refused to repent but support the church with their money are wasting their resources.

Stressing on the importance of living a holy life, Kumuyi said God does not need a “sinner’s money.”

He maintained that it is pointless for a sinner to pay tithes and offerings in church.

“If you are a sinner here, God does not need your money. All the money you are giving in this church does not get to God. You are just wasting your money.

“As a matter of fact if I know the numbers of sinners here and how much they gave as tithes and offering I will remove it and give it back to them. God does not need it and the church does not need it,” Kumuyi said

    1. I support Kumuyi. Some of our men/women of God don't care where you got the money you are giving them. That is why some many ministries have died a natural death. Some are called by God, have great ministry, but the issue of money, money, money and material things have finished their ministry. I am yet to see a man/woman of God of this generation that will preach for a whole one hour without mentioning money and "what you can give to your pastor". It is hard to see them talk about genuine repentance and the walk with God. All you hear is about how God uses them and how gifted they are in miracles. And the next thing you hear is how you will appreciate God after God uses them to meet your needs. How has Christianity turned to merchandize? It hurts me a lot to see this. When I got born again, we were thought holiness, God will provide all our needs according to riches glory by Christ Jesus, etc. Not now again oo, no more preaching of holiness. It just the subtle pressure to give for this, for that, is all we see. I believe offering is good, tithe is also good. I am a tither and also give my offerings, but the issue of monetizing the word of God is disheartening, and a complete disservice to God. I counted about 21 places or more where the scriptures says that it is better the pastors focus more on the talk about righteousness than the talk about sacrifices (offerings). And Samuel said, “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.1 Samuel 15:22. In the word of God he has said it that to do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. Prov 21:3.
Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. To draw near to listen is better than to offer the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they are doing evil. Ecl 5:1.
It all means that God is more concerned about teaching people about how to live holy than whatever money or material things they will give. A person who lives in sin, but comes to church and gives you money and offering as a pastor, you will answer for the soul of that person. Our modern day pastors are aware that a lot of people just come for miracles, if they hear that a particular person prays and miracles happen, they rush there. It is your duty to use that opportunity to lead that person to Christ, follow them up and pray for their salvation instead of helping them get the miracle they seek and collect the money and seed they have to offer. You will answer for it. If they are coming to you because you carry God's anointing, don't take advantage of to make money off them. If you do, God will take that anointing from you and give it to who will use it for soul winning and not money making!

  2. How does he know sinners and non sinners?

Who is he to judge who has sinned against God and who hasn't? So he's playing God Almighty now? It's ok, we're watching.

For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. We're all sinners begotten in iniquity.

      This is how he knew;

1 Corinthians 5: 12What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church?
Are you not to judge those inside? 13God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.” d

My main concern is why he hasn't expelled them from the church.

    4. Ahhh otio expel sinners from the church? No hope then for some of us, because I was told Christ came for sinners...an doesnt mean that we never commit sin ever, we fall and we get up and His grace sustains...I dont understand this type of Christianity where sinners are kicked out of the church...

    5. We can all be "sinners", but not all us are living in sin. If you are a saved Christian who is working towards perfection, you fall into the "all have sinned" category, but you are not living in sin. Pastor Kunuyi is referring to those living in sin. They are those are still not saved or born again. Those who are living their lives not according to the word of God, who are still doing 'runs', stealing, committing all manner of things, but comes to church to look for miracle. He is saying you should as a pastor focus more on winning their souls and not what they have to offer!

  13. Let him get ready to return the whole of his Church members Tithes then, for no one is righteous except God. some people try to live a good life by his grace but that does not make them righteous, as people commits sin in one way or the other. he should understand that the word righteous belong to God and not man. except he meant a specific sinners like ritualist, arm rubbers, prostitutes and yahoo boys/girls.

    1. @Yoriprincess, my dear, no more oh! It is money, money and money. Some pastors can talk about money and tithe for the whole service. May be word of God is given little time. Any church you see people trooping in, check it, that church has raining miracles and people are giving money in exchange. Are these people have the heart for God? As a man of God, your job is to win these souls following you to Christ and not make money off them. It has caused a lot of pastors to be advertising their miracles online to attract people. Once people go to them, they pray, the next thing you hear is money, money, money. These people you're getting money from, where are they getting these money? Who are they? So many mysteries in this life, some evil people can curse money and give it to a longer throat pastor, piam, ministry dies. Some gifts have destroyed anointing. If you have a great gift from God, devil can use accursed things to destroy anointing. Let them keep collecting from whoever sent money, alert, and everything, they are not collecting for God, but for their selves! Some destroy their children and family from gifts received. I have seen some men of God boom boom, but end badly! Please people of God use wisdom. You hear, "Give, give, give to the ministry and see what God will do for you", who are these people giving? Go into prayer and seek spiritually whom some of them really are and come back and tell us.

Why then did Jesus come to die? To save us from sin into sin?. I read in the Bible that Jesus Christ is coming back for a holy and saintly Church. Pray tell, who are the people that 2 These 5:17 talk about that would be raptured

  19. I am shocked at the comments. ForGod sakes you lot condem men of God that take money without condemning sin, and still insult the one that says that he will return your money, if you are living in sin. Keyword "living in sin".

God does not accept such monies and he started a fact.

So because no one is holy, a kidnapper, armed robber, ritualist, rapist etc, who are consciously living and sin, refuse to repent and keeps going to church and giving, should not be refunded his money because "nobody holy pass"?

    And we want revival?

Most of us accuse Pastor's of being the cause of many atrocious acts due to their "indirect and even direct" support of church members that are doing evil, and still condemn Pastor Kumuyi for saying he will return tithes and offerings of any know sinner.

    I just tire 😐
