Saturday In House Gists - Good/ Bad KARMA

The Principle of Karma states that whatever you give out is what will come back to you.... There is also the popular saying that  Karma has everyone's address and will deliver to everyone what they gave....

Do you believe that Karma is real? If not, why not? if yes, do you have any examples to gist us?

Have you seen or heard of anyone visited by good or bad Karma.

  3. I actually believe in karma. My dad abandoned my mom, my sister and me. He kept frolicking with all manner of women and never cared for our welfare. There were even periods when he managed to show up, he beat my mother to a pulp. Now I am not one to believe that my mother was completely not a problem because she was overly religious while my dad was not. As a matter of fact, she was in Deeper life bible church but her own form of making you repent was forcing it on you. So I strongly believe that with her religious attitude, my father couldn't stand it. Now the problem I had was my father's lack of concern towards his children. He had money and could easily fend for us but rather he left us to our fate. Most days we went hungry without proper food. It got to a point my mom wept so badly. She cried in her sleep daily. She looked up to God and cried for help. Part of the reason also was that my mom gave birth to only female children. He desperately wanted a male child and he told my mom that she bore only prostitutes as children for him. My mum had twins at a point and one ended up dying of cholera back then. They sent a letter to my dad informing him, and all he said then was that the child was already dead and should just be buried. He never showed up or showed any concern at all. The living child was the one that turned out to be my only sister. My mom had sworn that these two daughter's he calls prostitute will one day become children he will look up to, but he said, it will never happen. Eventually we never saw our dad. We eventually heard he got married to another woman. My dad's new wife never wanted us around so we stopped communication all together. Eventually, my dad started developing partial blindness. We heard but thought it was a joke. He eventually lost his job because he couldn't perform anymore of his duties due to partial blindness. Meanwhile, he had the son he craved for from his new wife and 2 more children. Before we knew what was going on, my dad became completely blind. He could no longer fend for himself and his so-called wife started mistreating him. It got so bad that my mom started praying that God should forgive him and give him back his sight. We eventually had to move my dad and his family from Abuja where he was residing to the village. Luckily, my sister had built a more decent house in the village. We began taking care of him and his family. I had to stop because I couldn't understand why, we always had bad things happening to us whenever we tried to help my dad and his family. It seemed like coincidence but for me, I couldn't continue. My mother however was the one that kept helping him and my sister. My dad eventually died because, whatever money that was sent to him, was never used by his wife to get food for him. He was completely malnourished. We were contacted immediately, when he died and we(his daughter's) were now solely responsible for his burial. Sorry about the long epistle, but I view my story as Karma. I truly believe Karma is patient and will get a person in due cause.....@@@@Xara😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

Heard and seen so many stories like yours. Know one man right now that lost his marriage because of his philandering ways, now he has lost his sight and not one mistress is around to help make his life easier. Worst, he is in his 70s living alone and dealing with blindness.

The friend was probably jealous of u guys' love because he never thought he could get a true love. Yes! It happens to a lot of guys esp when the jealous one is useless womaniser. He will want his guy's relationships to fail too. But God go give u as babe the wisdom to direct. I'm sure he would have been instigating fights between u guys n making them worse. Very bad people. . N when I see it happening, na then my stubbornness n overniceness go increase cus I know I deserve the love I want!
Next time pretend as if nothing dey shake. Work with ur man as a unit because u know what his friend is up to. Ur guy will come back on his own n appreciate u the more. Except u don't feel u deserve a good love sha.

    1. Oh ho. U see? Another angle. Good things happen to alot of bad people. Why? Those bad people feel it is their right to get good stuff. They have been taught a good self concept or are just narcissistic and selfish. U ever heard that selfish people live longer?

And bad things happen to alot of innocent people that don't deserve it. That's why we all need to be prayerful and tune our subconscious mind with positive affirmations.

  8. If karma is real, where then is the place of grace in redemption? Sometimes our mind play a fast one on us about happenstance but of a truth, what I believe is that, whatever one anticipate often comes to them. What do I mean by that? Simple! If you believe you will suffer for a past deed later on in life, then nature have a way of bringing misfortune to you through the projection of your mind.

    4. I don’t really agree with your submissions, Teejay and the 3 anons up to 16:12.
If we leave out religion for now, I would say karma is simply reaping what you sow, affecting your future existence by your present actions. It must not come as vengeance for a specific action (e.g a wicked spouse punished such that he comes back to beg, or a girl who frolicked with married men getting a cheating husband), it could be the sum of one’s negative actions manifesting in a negative occurrence he/she would never be able to link anywhere.
Rest assured, if you make it a business to hurt people, you will get your due on this earth, not in the next life. We usually think people get away scot-free because we are not privy to the regrets or sorrow they pass through in private; we are only satisfied if they get recompense in a way we can relate with, but it doesn’t always happen that way.
Bad things will happen to good people and good things will happen to bad people. This life is not an eternal loop, there is an originating point for these things. If I borrow from the Bible, Jesus said the Son of Man will be betrayed, but WOE to him through which He would be given up (Matthew 26:24). One would argue; what did Jesus do to merit death on the cross? Nothing! Bad things happen to good people but reward exists for that person who commits that evil.
Even if you don’t believe in any religion, you can’t deny there is a spiritual aspect to this life. Life is governed by principles which hold true no matter what you do or do not worship. One principle is that of giving, another is reaping what you sow. I don’t think these principles can be ignored/trivialized.
@Teejay, you made mention of grace. Grace does not shield us from reward for our actions. Ask Paul the Evangelist, not even his close walk with God was enough to fully take off the pain in his eyes, instead he got ‘my grace is sufficient for you’. Ask Moses, who was not permitted into the promised land; what of David, who still lost his illegitimate child with Bathsheba. The New Testament reminds us in Galatians 6:7, that we shall reap what we sow.
Religion aside, principles govern this life.

      Delete
    5. It's still that same Bible that says as you sow so shall you reap.

  12. Karma is real esp for those that ignored the evil done to them. My ex husband dealt with me so bad that during pregnancy he beat me up so bad, humiliated me so bad and eventually left. I move on and started my own life, God help me and I became better.
But my friends and sister that openly mocked me suddenly got left by their own husbands and became so bitter but I didn't mock them but just ignores them too. While my ex kept posting pictures of his new Beau and good life. The babe also left and he lost everything and has kept low in all. He's not finding life easy but shame and ego won't allow him apologise,so it keeps getting worse for him.
I never knew till his ppl told me, me I kuku bone. Let life continue treating him the exact way he treated me and vice versa. Amen.

    1. Their husbands left them because deep down they had low self esteem and feared their husbands leaving them. Their mocking u was just a product of that low self esteem. Don't try to complicate things. Do u know how many bad women are in perfect marriages? Sorry for ur experience and ur husband is getting what he deserves but u probably manifested his suffering into a reality because of how badly hurt u were by him.
And ur manifestation worked because he probably feels a bit of guilt and didnt feel deserving of ur good love or any good love for that matter. and that guilt/shame perpetuated into his next relationship and caused it to fail. Everyone has the power to think the life they feel they deserve into a reality. Not alot of people know this, so they suffer needlessly

  13. This is what I believe. In cases where it seemed karma didn't visit - it could be that one of the victims ancestors did something similar to someone while alive. Sometimes, karma visits the children's children's children of a wicked person.

  14. Nah. Karma ain't real. Life is full of ups and downs. The frequency of the ups and downs depends on the self concept you have trained into your subconscious mind. Many blacks esp Africans are trained up with a lack mindset and bad self concept due to environment so it just perpetuates the suffering. And only the few that manage to break out from that mental slavery realize their full potential and what their mind and faith can create. That's why a chap like Wizkid can make it out the slums but others can't. And that's why a decent, nice, polite, innocent, generous lady/guy with good upbringing may have trouble with relationships finances "bad luck" etc. Meditation, prayer and breathwork can train your subconscious for great experiences if tuned very well.

  19. We live in a cause and effect world, whether you call it karma, Newton's third law or the golden rule, the fact is what is put out will be return, perhaps not in the exact way, but it will come back. Seeds sown will bear fruits off their own kind.

I also caution people to not just watch their actions but the motivation behind their actions. Thoughts too are also mental actions that require paying attention to. Anybody can do what appears to be a good deed on the surface, but if their action is motivated by dishonesty then even though they did a good deed on the surface their payment will be for the dishonesty. Motivation is part of the equation.

One thing I have learned is that the laws of the universe are inherently just and fair. God knows exactly what God is doing even if it makes no sense to us.

  27. Karma is real. I learnt that a long time ago. Life has a way of duplicating what we have done to others and serve it to us too. But do not go about with bitterness waiting for Karma to strike someone that offended you. Karma is not man made, it is just natural and will outlive everyone. You might not even witness it when it is knocking at that person's door. I had gossiped about a girl in the past. Called all sort of names..It was fun to me until when i heard that some ladies gossiped about me that i had aborted alot of babies. I cried so much that i remembered the lady whose image I had tarnished some years back without any reason and evidence. I cried so much ehnn. I was a virgin and no one believed because someone somewhere decided to start a gist about the abortion all because I was always talking with boys. I was just a "tomboy". That event changed me to become less judgmental about people. Every single thing you do to people will surely come back to you someday. Those of you that act nice to your neighbours and trash the food they give you during festive period.. You think some other neighbours whom you also give your food to during those festive periods eat your food too? Yeye dey smell.

The question begged to be asked for those that believe in Karma, does it mean that when a good person is in a bad situation, it is Karma paying back for a past evil? I don’t think so because life happens to everyone.

    1. Life happening to people is very different from Karma. If I may use the Bible, see what happened to Joseph. He was a God fearing man, but went through a lot. He was able to continue on his good path despite all, and became prime minister of Egypt. When the opportunity came for revenge he didn't bother because he believed God orchestrated the events of his life for a purpose.
