Ghanaians With Passport Can Now Travel Visa Free To The UAE

Ghana's parliament has successfully approved a visa waiver agreement between Ghana and the United Arab Emirates, allowing Ghanaians with passports to make the trip without a visa.

The visa waiver agreement, which was contained in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of Ghana and the UAE on mutual exemption of entry visa requirements, is in respect of diplomatic, service/special, and ordinary passport holders.

Ameyawdebrah.com reports that the agreement was initiated on November 18, 2019, to waive the visa requirements for the passport holders in Ghana and the UAE, who can stay for a period not exceeding 90 days.

UGC Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, who is the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, subsequently presented the MoU to the House on May 26, 2021, and after a referral to the Committee on Foreign Affairs for consideration and report in accordance with Order 140(4) and 183 of the Standing Orders of Parliament, the agreement was approved on Thursday, August 5, 2021.

    1. This can only happen in Nigeria if Nigeria GROWS! Have you been to Ghana? Those people are developing their country so fast.

Countries offer things like this to a country that is growing; so they won't come and overpopulate their country.

Imagine UAE offering such to NigeriaπŸ€”. Who will remain? Onye obula oso...

  3. Nigeria is the dustbin of Africa. We have scammed our way out of opportunities. First Twitter went to Ghana, now this, we are not even worthy of fighting about who’s jollof is better again. Ghana is on a different level now.

Those who say "ordinary Ghana" it's happening right before you. What y'all say?

International positive ties elevates a nation. Greatly.

Nigeria keep up with your Ministry of Kidnapping.

  5. Nigeria is not a country. It is an amalgamation of ethnicities with each group electing a few to consume all the benefits accruable to them. Take out the oil money being shared in the center, there is nothing left to make her a country.

    1. This is it! Being Nigerian has to come before being a particular tribe. Nobody has time for tribalism wahala where investing and opportunities go.

  6. Father LORD, how did our beautiful Nigeria came to a point where we now place second fiddle in the global scheme of events to Ghana. Every well established organization is moving its Africa or West African Headquarter to Ghana. Now Ghana visa free to UAE.

LORD, please forgive us. Hear our prayers, have mercy and heal our land. Make our Nigeria the giant of Africa indeed and not just in words - AMEN.

    1. Second ke? Nigeria is last. Can you believe that no Canadian Embassy in Nigeria and Nigeria gives them the highest revenue in terms of immigrants from Africa.
Yet their embassy for West Africa is based in Ghana. How many Ghanaians are leaving their country where things are in place for them and with a growing economy to go and migrate to Canada that is freezer?
It's a shame I'm in this generation of Nigeria where everything is spoilt. I wish I was an adult in the 80's I would have migrated then when it was easier.

  13. They should forever remain thankful to Jerry John Rawlins because their politicians were miserable dimons like the ones we have here in the kontry named, black area till Jerry came through to rescue them. I'm happy for them, though they aren't completely there yet, i believe that they are heading to becoming the giant of Africa and also going to be holding the highest power in the continent. I am rooting for Ghanaians! Lmao, sometimes i'd be wishing i was a full blown Igbo Anambra Ghanaian, lol.
