Couple Who Fatally Poisoned Minor Son Over Witch Craft Allegations Have Been Arrested..

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested one Akan Umoh and his wife, Rita Umoh, for allegedly poisoning their son, Saviour Umoh, over witchcraft suspicion.

It was gathered that the deceased was poisoned to death after the administration of poisonous “evil beans” to remove the witchcraft.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Odiko Macdon, in a statement on Tuesday, said the duo was arrested by the detectives from Abak division after tip-off.
The suspects, according to the statement, have confessed to their crimes.

The statement read in part, “On 29th August 2021, at about 4:30 pm, relying on information received from one Mfon Francis of Ekpat Iduot village that one Akan Jimmy Umoh and his wife, Rita Jimmy Umoh, of same address, conspired and poisoned to death her stepson, one Master Savior Jimmy Umoh, a 10-year-old boy on the allegation of witchcraft.
“Detectives of Abak Division swiftly responded and arrested the duo of Akan and Rita Jimmy Umoh who happen to be the father and step-mother of the deceased, respectively.

“On interrogation, suspects confessed to have administered poisonous concoction called ‘Evil Beans’ on the child to remove witchcraft, which they, according to prophecy, claimed was the cause of their economic misfortunes and health challenges, including the poor academic performance of his half-siblings.

“A search in the house revealed a boldly written inscription on the wall by the step-mother, ‘Saviour is the witch of this house.’ Photographs were taken while the corpse was removed and deposited in the mortuary for autopsy,” he said.

  2. Prophecy ko this is the hand work of an evil and jealous step mother. How the father agreed to it is what is baffling me. No wonder they always say, if you must leave, leave with your kid/kids but sadly some fathers will never agree for the mother to take the kids but can agree for the child to be poisoned. Why believe your child has witchcraft in the first place, now the poor child is gone for nothing

  6. That child went home to rest. I can imagine the trauma of living in a house with "SAVIOUR IS THE WITCH OF THIS HOUSE" written on the walls. The beatings, name-calling, slaving... It's interesting how a so called witch can be beaten and bullied yet unable to kill you right there on the spot even before you start abusing them with their witch powers. If his mother was not dead, she probably heard the word "witch" and stayed away. The father was willing to betray his own son as the grand wizard that he has proven to be. Who was this boy going to run to? Who was going to shield him? So he went back to his maker as there was no point.

I hope that Coven Leader, Helen Ukpabio, is keeping score of the gallons of blood on her head and that of the cast and crew of those her very unintelligent and dangerous nonsense she packaged as movies to desperate Nigerians who were too blinded by the pain of the Abacha years to see how those useless movies destroyed families and left children open to unspeakable abuse and abandonment.

With illness and finances, I'm personally sick if idiots who will see their lab results or account balance and start blaming relatives they abandoned or innocent children for draining their blood and leaching their electrolytes. How many children are in government? How many of them are lawmakers or doctors? How many of them are politicians or armed robbers? What do you sorry lot think "suffer the little children to come unto me for theirs is the kingdom of God" means?

Let this matter not drag please. The hangman's noose should settle this mater because prison break is now a common thing in Nigeria.
