IPOB Leader Nnamdi Kanu's Ex Number 2 Man Says IPOB Is Responsible For The Brutal Murder Of Late Minister Dora Akunyili's Husband

Uche Mefor, a former deputy to IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu says that Operatives of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) were behind the killing of the late Dr. Chike Akunyili

Mefor, who is now estranged from the proscribed group, made the allegations in a lengthy post on his Facebook page on Thursday, September 30, 2021.

IPOB had earlier been fingered for the brutal murder of Dr. Akunyili; a charge which the group had denied in a statement released by Emma Powerful, the group’s spokesman.

However, Mefor, in his post, insisted that IPOB was responsible for assassinating the late Akunyili.

His full post on Facebook can be seen below.

‘‘CALL A SPADE A SPADE AND NAME THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ONGOING WANTON DESTRUCTION OF LIVES AND PROPERTIES IN IGBO PART OF BIAFRALAND

If other parts of Nigeria are imploding, those who know better must insulate, maintain civility and not allow our land to also assume the status of lawlessness and of barbarism. But what an irony in the face of the unfolding, avoidable situation today!

We have said and would emphatically continue to say that: abomination remains abomination. What the Indigenous People of Nnamdi Kanu (IPONK) is doing of late is criminality. It is a category of heinous crime called CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY WITHIN THE ROME STATUTE AND THE JURISDICTION OF THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT, ICC ; AND NO MORE FREEDOM FIGHTING.

It is on record that on the inspiration of the violent utterances; threats and incitements to horror by Nnamdi Kanu and his bumbling sycophantic criminal gang members of the not-fit-for-purpose DOS; a series of sponsored and blanket assassination/killing campaigns and extra-judicial extermination of the innocent unsuspecting Igbo Biafrans; have been commissioned and ridiculously on an ongoing basis; hailed and celebrated by a cross-section of the gullible as UNKNOWNGUNMEN/ESN, as fighting the Fulani herdsmen and in the name of freedom fighting.

The latest is the unfortunate assassination of Dr. Akunyili.

Shamelessly, the South East governors, the clergy, community leaders and opinion molders have not done enough to call these criminals by their names and as such maintained a highly disturbing ‘criminal silence”; and rightly so because official silence in the face of criminality by leaders amount to tacit support or complicity.

The ones who attempted to speak have failed to call a spade a spade.

But you know what?

Like we warned since December 2020 of the danger of leaving weapons of warfare in the hands and control of unregulated non-state actors with reference to Kanu’s intentions with his misguided, ill-advised and not-well-intended security outfit, ESN; that it would lead to proliferation of armed militia groups, anarchy/lawlessness and our society becoming a gun-running one; consequences of this singular failure by the political class in Biafraland is now an obvious serious error of judgement and as such an ill wind that will definitely ruffle everyone in an unintended fashion.

There is no way that the human rights compliant Biafra we are seeking would be restored through acts of criminality. We reject armed struggle outside legitimate self-defence; strict adherence to the dictates of international human rights law; justice and accountability in the pursuit of Biafra’s rights to self-determination,’’ his post read.

  2. It is ipob. Who are the unknown gun men if not them. God will forever punish anyone who continues killing people in the East and making lives unbearable for people to move about and go about their trades, work or school.

It will never be well with ipob

      Hurt people, hurt people!!
This is exactly what is happening here and it's dangerous.

See how people are cowering at home in fear because of this threat of sit at home today. No freedom of movement or speech. Worshipping a man MNK as a god, calling him prophet and saviour. IPOB has no business killing any body, government official or not. Now look what they have done to a family that has contributed immensely to Nigeria. This is so sad and a disgrace to ALL Igbos. This one death hits different.
The struggle for emancipation will not be won by making ‘Biafra’ uninhabitable. And who told them we all define ‘emancipation’ as ‘secession’? We really need a referendum and then a review of the bloody constitution. One thing remains clear, the current model for the Nigerian state, does not work!

I am never holding brief for Ipob, since they started killing their own people, who they are supposed to protect from the common enemy fulani herdsmen, for refusal to sit at home. They can do anything!

THey are running wild and have lost focus! Your people are the victims for crying out loud, why halt economic activities, hurting lives and destroying infrastructures? How does it make sense bikonu? And some people are defending this action that has taken a different turn from what it set out to be before? You don't turn around and hurt yourself because you are angry at your enemy or want to deal with your enemy. The anger is too much! It will self-destruct.
They should trace their way back, go to the drawing board and start afresh. Killing is never the answer to issues!

These are blood thirsty criminals sabotaging the great work they started. I am ranting if it's actually them that killed Dr Akunyili. Nonsense!!!

  16. IPOB has countlessly practically expressed the "Onye ahana nwanne ya slogan (Let no one forsake his/her own) no matter what. This they did by openly standing in solidarity with Mrs. Alison Madueke, the embattled former petroleum minister.
IPOB openly stated that no harm must come to GEJ repeatedly when it was rumored that the Buhari led one-sided fight against corruption wanted to persecute GEJ in disguise of anti graft war.
IPOB openly condemned the incarceration of Chief Olise Metu, former PDP publicity secretary and vigorously campaigned for his unconditional release.
This same onye ahana nwanne ya ideology made IPOB to openly call for the release from prison custody the former governor of Abia state and a current senator Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu even when the effect of his loot is visibly seen in Abia State till date. IPOB said if politicians from other regions that laundered money cannot be arrested and tried, arresting their southern counterparts amounts to persecution.
IPOB magnanimity even went beyond the southern borders and condemned in totality the continuous detention of El Zazaki, the Shiite leader and the refusal of the Buhari government in obeying court order that ordered his release.
What surprises me the most is that when IPOB members are being persecuted, killed these people that benefitted from her magnanimity either turn blind eyes, go mute, or even stand in condemnation of IPOB. Like they are currently doing in the case of MAZI NNAMDI KANU.
    ONYE AHANA NWANNE YA!

Did he make moves to cripple them? I think some assassinations from other sources are now hiding under unknown gunmen/IPOB/Fulani herdsmen. 18. The counter coup of of July 1966 was very brutal and bloody primarily because junior officers started the coup. The junior officers had very little education or none. In Ibadan Danjuma lost control and some junior officers threaten to kill him. Eventually those junior officers were responsible for the killing of Ironsi and his host, the then western regional government. When Kanu thought he was clever by half and started ESN in the name of fighting herdsmen, those who were rational enough knew all the failed DJ wanted was a private army. Illiterates and educated ignoramuses were called to camp and trained by low cadre former military men. No money was given to the illiterates after camp, they were told they are freedom fighters who must look for ways to feed and cloth themselves. Guns were given only to senior ESN members, they were told to raid police stations for guns. Today they are monsters, the leadership of Ipob have no control over them. This is just the beginning of massive killings in the east.

Anambra politics has been known to be rough. These could be hired political assassins, for all anyone knows right now. May whoever that did this be exposed, whoever it may be and be brought to book but calling out anyone without evidence is also an act of wickedness in itself. Needless to say, the more every crime is linked to IPOB, the more criminals are likely to use that as a cover to operate. Pls, let the appropriate authorities do their work and fish out the TRUE perpetrators of this evil.
