Speaking during a COVID-19 vaccination update in Abuja, Executive Director of National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr Faisal Shuaib, said Nigeria’s status has not changed.
“This is similar to our requirement to have travelers from the UK isolated for seven days upon arrival in Nigeria”, he said.
Shuaib noted that the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19 (PSC) is in the process of reviewing requirements and is in touch with the UK government.
According to the Will Nigeria He said: “Just like they stated clearly in their communication, the current listing of countries with approved vaccination certification has just started in the UK. They are reviewing the country’s programmes in phases. If you go through the list of 50 closely, no African country made the list.
“The UK government is yet to comprehensively review Nigeria’s vaccination certification programme. From my communication with UK government officials, the UK government approves the vaccines administered in Nigeria.
“They are also involved with the vaccination programme in Nigeria through the Foreign, Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO) and they are optimistic that by the time Nigeria’s COVID-19 vaccination programme certification is assessed, it will be approved.
“There are many countries in the world. So, we, like many other countries, are in the queue for this assessment. Once it gets to our turn, we are, more likely than not, to get approved in the coming weeks. As the UK government has clearly stated, the process of assessment would occur in phases.”

God has been so faithful to us Nigerians as per this pandemic. We weren't attacked as we thought. Hossana in the highest.
ReplyDeleteI dey tell you
DeleteWere we ever on their red list?. We have always been on amber, isolating for 10days. The vaccines are not the problem. The problem is that people get vaccination cards without ever being vaccinated.
ReplyDeleteExactly...Nigerian Govt and misinformation 5 and 6
DeleteWell, a post here yesterday said we were in the red list, it wasn't the Nigerian government that said so, don't blame for blaming sake.
DeleteSomeone I know paid for the card without getting vaccinated .
DeleteAnd later that someone will have the nerve to blame govt for corruption. Mschew.
DeleteGood for them.....but we cant still use our vaccine card. Still have to pay almost £200 day 2 and day 8 test which is ridiculous and isolate for 10days even though we are vaccinated.
ReplyDeleteSo what’s the point in getting vaccinated in Nigeria when not recognized in foreign countries..
Deleteif not for the reason I need to be in the UK travelling now is so annoyingly expensive. you spend about 200 or more pounds just for testing alone. that is outside the 50k you spend doing test in naija oh. add that to tickets and pocket money.. Brexit and COVID have really caused stress for the UK this year.
DeleteBoth of you clearly did not read what was up there mentioning the FCDO. Please read before commenting biko, just 1 minute.
Delete@ bed and roses, that was before summer holidays, the prices for the covid tests has been reduced from £210,and it's no more day 2 & eight test for fully vaccinated people,it's just day 2 tests and no more 10days Quarantine. The traffic light now too has been changed to just two,If you visit countries on red lists, you have to go to hotel Quarantine, day 2 and 8 tests. They are just using this covid to reap us off,Nigeria too is reaping us travellers off with covid test money, those one even purposely give you a positive test results, then ask for bribe to give you negative result.
Delete🤣🤣🤣🤣
ReplyDeleteUk day 2 and day 8 test kit Dante Lab is 85pounds.
