  14. See how happy children were returning from school and being their chatty selves had to perish because of useless drivers that cannot maintain their trucks. God Almighty comfort all the parents and receive the souls of these innocent children that had to die through carelessness.

Death occurring everywhere. May God Almighty keep families from tragedies Amen.

This is just too much. Too much blood spills that the soil in Nigeria is crying. They have sucked blood tire

  15. Where is the hashtag for these ones. Or we don’t think their deaths are unwarranted? Don’t we think they should get justice? Why would a truck be plying a school zone at dismissal?

This is why Nigeria will never change. It is a social media country. 15 kids killed and it is meh πŸ˜‘

You too can start it instead of twiddling your thumbs and waiting for everyone else to fo something while you gather your spittle to complain.

Even in that comment you could have put #justiceforojodustudents #bandaytimetrucks instead of blowing your nose upandan.

Road safety should stand up and do their duty na.How can you allow these cars without breaks to be causing havoc everywhere. Our car was hit by a driver yesterday in front of a road safety checkpoint, our driver came down to confront the offender.I was shocked when his passengers joined in begging our driver to forgive him that his car has no break.Seriously, his car had no break and you're sitting inside comfortably?

May God give fortitude to those left to mourn them

  22. I think there is an existing law prohibiting trucks from plying the roads during the day.. Why can't laws be enforced in this country..

    1. Lollll. Everything prayer.

The prayer you lot have been praying since beginning of year was for what again?

Did they tell you the parents of those children did not pray that morning?

Basic things that ordinary policies & laws should be created and upheld, una go entire church casting and binding yourself into a frenzy when ordinary common sense should prevail.

Ban trucks during the day, ensure trucks and their drivers are held to all road worthiness limits.

      Simple.

What is the rocket science there?

Everything church church church, pothole, 'ehn let us pray.'
Building collapse,'ehn let us fast.' 'Thunderstorm, ehn ' iz a weend of eful' In 2021 why are Nigerians still behaving like the Flintstones? LOLL.

What then are your useless, greedy, lazy leaders and basic common sense for?

That is why they said when you go abroad, churches are empty.

90 percent of what drives you lot to church dancing like field goats, are what their leaders have successfully tackled.

      Please don't mind me.

      Continue to pray.

      Thank God I escaped.

    3. 11:17, u escaped, yet ur nose is still inside Naija mata? Abeg, face ur front where their churches are empty, if that's ur thing. Our prayers are doing just fine; even if it's the inner peace, alone. Yes, Naija needs to walk her talk but leave prayer out of the argument. Being sincere with the teachings of one's religion is totally different to merely subscribing to one. The problem here is the lack of sincerity in matters of faith; it's not the faith or religion, in themselves. Thank u.

  25. According to eye witness reports, Lastma officials were pursuing the driver, because according to them his papers were not complete but people around said the truck was carrying bags of rice,he was trying to escape when the accident happened but he didn't stop,he was later apprehended at excellence hotel and the truck set ablaze,he was almost lynched but police released tear gas which scattered the mob and he was taken to the station

  32. I think these people are trying to cover up the actual truth. If the truck driver truly had a brake failure, how come the truck did not stop after he hit the children? How come the truck stopped around a traffic light where he was eventually caught as he was trying to abscond? God have mercy on us in this country. So many avoidable deaths going on. May God protect us all.

    1. The drug doesn't have any brake failure... I witnessed the ambush on the driver. He was going towards Ikeja when some busses and bikes blocked the road and descended on him. In no time the truck was set ablazed while commuters and others bounced on the driver... I just entered bike and left not knowing he was escaping after crushing students... Some sources are saying 17kids died on the spot and one woman has 3 children amongst them. I am just tired of Lastma wahala. Why will they be chasing a vehicle?

  38. Truth is that our roads are terrible, most drivers are horrible, the road officials and agberos are worst. Trailers ,trucks and tankers should operate only at night with lanes mapped for them on roads. We are more religious than Christians. When we pray for chairs and tables, GOD gave us trees, it's in us to use the trees and make furniture, GOD can't make furniture for us,HE provides the means for us. May GOD comfort the families involved.

  39. This is a horror story. This is why I don't take chances with heavy equipment vehicle. I do not even take my nieces to the park on garbage days because garbage trucks are notorious for mowing down people. My heart goes out to the mourning families. What is this life, in a split moment it can turn upside down. May God hold up these parents and loved ones. I hope they can also get some counselling eventually. This is too much.

So this truck especially if it is a heavy duty truck was not getting any maintenance that it would have a brake failure of all things. So if the truck is burned by angry residents how will we know the owner and who to hold accountable? Leaving evidence is important we can't burn down everything in anger, we need criminal and civil justice when things like these happen.

  40. The one I heard yesterday was that an officer(Lasma), I hope I got that correctly though. Was struggling with the driver and that led him to lose control of the stirring. May the good rest their souls and comfort their families.
